Please accept my condolences for your loss, and will be thinking of you and Dave, and his dad, and the family, at this very difficult time. It doesn't get easier by knowing other people have been through it recently, but there are a lot of us who have. Sending virtual hugs.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone.
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone.Being away is difficult for Dave, of course. We're meant to fly back next weekend, so we'll keep to that rather than going early. Hoping to be able to arrange the funeral to occur during the two weeks we're there.
Feeling rather overwhelmed by everything at the moment.
Oh well. This too shall pass.

Morning all, got the dentist at 9.15, food shopping on the way home then a home visit. Raining here.

Morning all! Off shopping in a bit to get bits for our holiday! I hate shopping, especially for clothes! But seeing as we are going to my brothers wedding while we are away I kinda need to find an outfit!!

Thanks.I thought the first thing I'd have to do when get back is go clothes shopping but I found a funeral appropriate outfit this morning.
I need shoes, though.
Morning everyone. Bucketing down out there, and I think it's affecting the internet - everything seems to be loading at a crawl.

How do? Just finished the edits on my next but one! Going to listen to it on the Kindle Fire next week.

I'd have thought wool could make for an uncomfortable teddy

Trauma teddies. Some police forces and fire services carry them in their vehicles to give to children who've experienced some kind of trauma. Domestic violence, a house fire. It could be the only toy they have till things get sorted out. Easy pattern and fun to make.

But what a cracking idea Kath
Homevisit went well, they are picking her up on Mon, nearly finished the housework. Going to my neighbours in a bit, we are going to play board games.

Not my idea. I came across it on Facebook. The pattern. Then I googled it. The idea came from the Australian Red Cross.

It really is a lovely idea!!
It really is a lovely idea!!Very proud of myself today!! Went shopping (which I hate) and we ended up in the food court for lunch! Other half went for a Burger King, and I can’t tell you how much I wanted a big juicy burger! But I was good and opted for a jacket spud with tuna n cheese!
Well.... I have got to fit in this https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group... in September 😊😊😊 👰🏼

You'll look lovely regardless

Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "You'll look lovely regardless .."Speaking as a churchwarden who sees more brides than most, it does seem that something happens to a lady on that day.
Even people who you would regard as a bit plain, when they're brides they somehow just sparkle. This isn't intended to be any sort of sexist comment, just an observation that there is something more than just a hairdo and professional makeup. It's as if the best bits of the personality rise to the top and show in the face.
 Sounds yummy CeDany!
Sounds yummy CeDany!I'm partial to anything bacon!
Good morning!
Banananananana cake in the oven and a leg of lamb on the counter ready to roast.
If it wasn't for Monday following it, Sunday would be my favourite day of the week.
Morning! I think Balmoral chicken would have whisky in the sauce rather than whiskey. And a very good morning each. My sis is cooking tonight so I'm in the rare position of having absolutely no idea what I'll be eating.

Morning all, my daft neighbour popped a note through my door last night apologising for the dog barking, they had to go to A & E - she was still barking at 3.30am, I woke up at 6.15, medicated Lucy and dragged her back to bed (literally, she growls and tries to bite me, but then settles immediately!!), just getting back to sleep at 7 when the dog started barking again, so rather tired and headachy now. We are going to Poulton today for a meal with my neighbours family, have also got some charity admin to do.

Not really sure why a uk forum would be confused by the Scottish spelling of whisky...

Got really figgy here now. The birds are singing their little beaks off though, they must think it’s spring.
Figgy? My mind is clearly stuck on food. (Not that I would eat a fig with those dead wasps in them). I meant to type foggy :)

If I may put my nerd hat on for a wee while ...
If I may put my nerd hat on for a wee while ...Strictly speaking, "whiskey" and "whisky" are both correct British/ Scottish spellings. It is "whisky" when it is made from Scotland and "whiskey" when it is made anywhere else.
So a Scot might well refer to "whiskey" meaning a non-Scottish whiskey.
Evening all, managed to get my admin done before we went, had a lovely afternoon, although our regular venue was ruined by Mothers Day - despite having a set menu, they managed to get meat wrong on at least two tables! Slightly more worrying, the person on our table who was given pork rather than turkey couldn't tell! Decent price but food not as good as normal

     Ah, Bushmills.
Ah, Bushmills. Is it too early for a God's Blessing?
I expect one now would set me up nicely for the day.
Just spent half an hour putting on full slap so Dave could take my photo for some documentation. Even lippy.
Yeah, that's coming back off before I leave for work...
