Barometer is rising and the wind has just swung round to SW so it’s much warmer in the last hour. Hope it stays mild as OH going to a funeral tomorrow and it’s a long drive for him. We saw a cousin’s wife on national tv last night shovelling snow at her home in Parracombe.

We saw a cousin’s wife on national tv last night shovelling snow at her home in Parracombe. We have a sledge not a toboggan, daughter insisted accusingly that I had given it away. I knew I hadn’t. It’s hanging up in the garage. I think I’ll take it to her now the snows all gone:o)
Tesco didn't come yesterday because of bad driving conditions, so I had to reorder for tomorrow. Am running out of everything! Will probably just manage to survive....

I have a choice between a steak rescued from the almost empty freezer, on its own with no accompaniments. Or getting a takeaway delivered.

Luckily its normal fix, switch it off for an hour is working. At least the shower is electric. Didn't get enough washing up done, will use the kettle tomorrow. Was replacing the boiler this month. Spent an interesting time creating collections using laptop, tablet and phone. Collected so many books I'd forgotten about.

Brilliant Mary. Husband had a very similar escapade in Ashbourne on a big slope. Daughter was about 8, she came home with a shut bruised black eye but went out with her Dad, they went under a barbed wire fence but the sledge hit a bump. She went up in the air and landed on him breaking 3 of his ribs and blacking her other eye. What a pair.

Now that sounds like a fun daddy-daughter day!

My to do list is a mile long and working this week means finding time is going to be tricky.
Erg.
Good morning, from sunny west Wales - yes I’m lying. It’s raining. OH off to his aunt’s funeral. I’m glad I decided I’d stay home as I’ve woken up full of cold, feel quite rough so glad of a quiet day.

Morning all. Snow is finally vanishing, though I had to wade through piles of slush to reach the Metro.

Morning all, still quite a lot of snow around, but we got to the hospital OK. Told to be here for 7.30, she wasn't taken down till 9! Nipped for some petrol as I hadn't done that last week, now having a drink and reading in the hospital cafe waiting.

Desley, glad you got the boiler working again, GL congrats sounded scrumptious! Patti, hope your Monday is going well.
Everyone, good morning!
Morning, all. Fine and bright here. Just been to get supplies and this afternoon we're off to look at showers and shower cabinets. Ours (18 years old) has sprung a leak somewhere down the drain hole so we get random dripping from the hall ceiling. Time for a new one.

Well, that was an interesting day.
Well, that was an interesting day.I covered two different teachers with very rudimentary planning from both of them. Managed to muddle through.
From tomorrow, I'm teaching 6-7 year olds instead of the other kids in EAL as their teacher has gone in for an emergency appendectomy this morning.
Should be fun. I have no planning and will have to sort it out myself. I've taught this year group maybe three days in the past four years.
Yeehaw
Sounds an interesting week! Neighbour got out after just 4 hours. Rang the aerial company I've used before, I'm not bothered but my neighbour is, they are in the area this afternoon so will have a look for us

Glad your snow is past - we have a possible big one on Wednesday, and I'd love to just hide in my office and work, assuming the power and heat don't go out.

Getting a house ready for sale is an endless list of details and coordinating nightmares. Glad we haven't moved since 1981; hope this is the last one.
We had the best sort of house viewers today: their opening comment - Hello, never mind the house, show us your dogs...

Today is the day that I get my official notice that I'm being made redundant. I'm half tempted to have a rant about how unfair it is, and that there are useless buggers elsewhere who are keeping their jobs, but it wouldn't make any difference.

It's probably better to just remain professional about it all.

Morning all, raining here. Going to hobble to the office today, took my painkillers already. Our friend is coming from Malta today, its a surprise for my neighbour, I need to pick up a parcel for her after work too

Did they like the dogs Will?
 Morning everyone.
Morning everyone.Sneet is coming down - well the forecast said sleet but it looks more like snow to me. Will I make it to the hairdressers or will I be forced to use the scissors on my fringe and suffer the usual pained remarks when I finally get there?
Redundancy is a real pain, Michael. I hope it leads to something magnificent however.
Nostalgic blog, Mary. The family on my Dad's side always made their own sledges. We'd reached Icanoppit IV by the time I left home.
Rotten news, Michael, hope you find something else soon.

Well, they LOVED the dogs, so we wait and see
 Morning!
Morning!I hope something better comes up, Michael - and the dog-lovers love the dog-lovers' house!
Damp and cold this morning but Himself has toddled off to the coast for a bracing beach walk. I was braced enough going to the recylcing bin this morning!
Forgot to say the aerial men turned up around 5 yesterday, mine was an easy fix as it hadn't damaged itself when it slipped down the roof, although I am £60 lighter. My neighbour's unfortunately has been damaged so she needs a whole new one.

     Thoughts and prayers, Mikey. :D
Thoughts and prayers, Mikey. :DSeriously, though, I hope new wonderful doors are opened for you.
Planning afternoon tomorrow, quiz night, then day off for women's day.
Going in on Friday is gonna be difficult!
Seems pointless. Half the kids probably won't show up.
Our snow has gone certainly but there are still places with deep drifts, interrupted water supplies are the main concern in some place in our county and people moaning that their bins haven’t been collected. Adversity certainly throws up heroes and zero’s.

My great niece has just posted her baby’s 18 week photos, he’s looking lovely. Strong active and a very happy boy. He’s still having some issues but it’s really looking positive for his progress. She’s not 100% healed yet and still has her bug.

Still snow around, lots of pot holes. I appreciated the bin men couldn't come on Fri, they got here Mon. Neighbour was thrilled with her surprise, and that we planned it without her knowing

After being snowbound for a few days, it all cleared on Saturday with positive temperature and rain. The bins won't be collected till the next rubbish day - so missed a week's collection - and the recycling for the best part of a fortnight it seems, but not going to moan about that - heard on the radio this morning about the poor people who have been without running water for days on end or had their flats flooded by burst pipes on the top floor.

I’m full of head cold. My voice has gone, the dog is looking at me head cocked to one side then the other as I squeak. It’s funny but then I have a coughing session if I laugh. husband is appreciating the silence. The source of all germs is off school too, he’s coughing and colding. The mornings are getting much lighter and it’s quite mild today.

Have a good day all.
Morning all, hopefully a busy day at work, then a fundraising committee meeting after work.
