Sorry to hear you have no back up heating, I rarely use my electric fire, but like to have it in case.
Don't even get me started on electrics.They inspected our flat today and we got an email an hour ago telling us to move out tonight.
Like that's gonna happen.
Told them if it's been safe enough for us to live in for the last six years, it's safe enough until they can fix whatever the problem is next week.
No fucking way are we dicking about with that shit the day before Dave travels and I'm on my own here.
So fed up with this place.

Morning all, woke up at 5.30, thought I heard a weird knocking noise! Foot was so painful I couldn't get downstairs for painkillers. Hoping I'll get to sit down a lot at the fundraiser today

Good morning, we’re home safe and sound. Had really good journey yesterday no hold ups till we hit the rush hour traffic from Bristol onwards, Cardiff was a nightmare. No reason for it once clear of 40limits on the motorway which bunches everyone up it was fluid. Still took us 13 hours which is a long while. The dogs were so good, not a squeak out of them all the way. Except when we saw dogs at the Tunnel check in. We do see some ‘anomalies’ in the regulations though. 4or 5 dogs in the car and i understand it’s only 3 allowed. I’m not a policeman and our day is long enough so I’m not going to do statements etc and im certainly not prepared to get thumped by an Eastern European puppy smuggler even if my sense of what’s right is screaming “Do something” .

I actually felt motivated to go outside and start doing some of the heavy garden maintenance. And guess what? Everywhere is too frozen.

Oh heck, Patti. Maybe that's a thing to have by yourself, though. You can just crawl away and hide till you feel more human. I've been there with the ailing elderly rellies. It's not a nice time and you have to do what you can to get through it.
Drink lots of fluids and electrolytes, Patti - dehydration makes things worse. Hope it's over soon.
Dave just rang me from the lounge and insisted on having a conversation about how often I've peed todaySucks he's got me to worry about as well as everything else.
I feel better than I did in the night, anyway.
Gonna try n sleep now. On the couch. Don't think I can manage the stairs to go to bed. I'm feeling decidedly wobbly.

I have to be corporate wife tonight. 'Smart casual' which means blokes in jumpers and jeans, me in smart casual gear and the other women in evening dress. Unless I wear evening dress in which case they'll all be looking casual. I'll wear trousers and a jacket with a nice silk scarf to glam it up.

I went in the garden as it’s very lovely here, suny but cold, to look if we’d got more primroses out and saw there’s were loads of those Crocosmia bulbs on the surface so I thought I’d pull them up. Couldn’t shift them they were frozen in. Good excuse, came in and watched the rugby.

We have finally(after 5 months) exchanged contracts on the house. We move on Friday. I was packing up my books today and Ally said "we will have more boxes of books than anything else"

Morning, it is sunny out. Foot is slightly less painful, which is impressive, however my sciatica has decided to start twinging instead!! Took painkillers at 6 and fed all the cats to get a lie in, Lucy started crying at me at 10!! Need to do a bit of tidying and do some washing up but that is it for today. Supposed to be going out for tea, but not sure if I can be bothered to get dressed. Bit of a mixed day yesterday, we only had one person participate in our Buy a Brick campaign, only one person bought a mug but took £136 and had a few people wanting to adopt dogs in a few months, so raised a decent amount of awareness for the charity. One of the coldest indoor fundraisers I've ever done though!! Spent way too much in shops I don't get to go to very often though. A friend popped round just as I was finishing counting, so there was a delay in getting the stuff on Facebook which caused a disagreement between me and my neighbour. Jim - last year the doctor said I had arthritis in that foot caused by my bunion, not seen them this year in case it is different. Going for something else tomorrow so might see if she feels I need to do anything. Sorry that you are ill while worrying about Dave who is worrying about you Patti. Good luck with the house move Lindsay, not sure why having more books than anything else is even worth mentioning!! Glad you are back safe Lynne, despite the long journey. It is a tricky one regarding other people breaking the rules. Hope your do went well last night MT

Evening all, I've been a bit busy this weekend at an exhibition, sold a few paintings, regretted not watching the rugby and missing an excellent win, and have eaten an Empire biscuit this afternoon that was bigger than my head. So, you know, achievements.Off to look for a bottle of wine in the cellar (ok it's a cupboard) so there had better be one in there. Or there will actually be tears before bedtime.
Had a lovely meal, we went to the pub we found last year when catching kittens but I couldn't go when my neighbour tried. Really enjoyed it. Chilling on the sofa, will finish housework tomorrowHope you find wine R, shame I couldn't drink today, would have tried quince gin
Got to get up at 5.30 tomorrow so back to the routine, little grandson had a different haircut last week, he caught sight of himself and asked “Where did my hair go? “

Morning all, woke up at my usual time, hobbled down to feed the cats and find some painkillers, noticed we had some light snow that was sticking as it is dry. Got back up at 10.30 to find most of the snow had disappeared. Think I need to stop being stubborn and take more tablets for my foot. Bit of housework this morning, then docs, food shopping and online food shopping this afternoon!! Hope you are feeling better Patti, good luck with the plumber Tim
Morning, each! Done an extra shop in case the forecast is correct. It's been sleeting all morning but not yet sticking. As we have a steep drive we may well be stuck if it comes in heavy overnight. Stocked up now. All keep warm, especially Tim.
