Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dave is bringing dinner home.

All I had to do was decide what we'd have and order it.

He spoils me.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good grief.

Has the Internet in the uk died?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments We're all hiding!

Don't know, where is everyone? I've been out getting sheared, that's my excuse. Cold ears on the way home

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Now you've checked your email, go have a cuddle with Kay, Will.

And you lot really shouldn't be complaining about the weather, you know.

Our mates in Khakistan are telling us it's mild there. It's only been -10 this week.
And they're looking for teachers for next year.

Yeah. Umm

No.

message 2762: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Evening all,

Spent the day in our London office, or should i say spent the day driving to and from our London office. Nightmare driving round London, I do not know how people do it on a regular basis

message 2763: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Gotta say living a country with a dictatorship benefits the traffic flow, Lindsay.

They demolished a 300 year old neighbourhood to put in a highway and traffic has been much improved ever since.

I'm talking to Geoff and Anita right now.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good evening, bonsoir, I got here safe and sound. Apart from a run in with a weasel driving an HGV who got his lorry stuck in a chicane designed to slow cars down at a petrol station - the lorry fuel pumps were barriered off so he backed out nearly running us over then he tried to get in the car pumps and got well stuck his gestures seemed to indicate it was our fault, we had an incident free journey. No ice on the roads but it was very cold -4 most of the way, everything fine with the house here, had a lovely sunny day today and a nice walk.

message 2766: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yay! Pleased it was a good journey, Lynne. I hope you have a properly relaxing holiday.

Good morning!

I have absolutely nothing to do today.

I could pack a bag but my back/shoulder has been a misery for days. I don't want to make it worse. If it doesn't improve soon, I think I'm going to have to look into getting physio or something. It's most annoying walking round with a dead arm.

Les | 266 comments Good morning folks.

Just under half an hour left of my nightshift, then I'll be off home to indulge in some coffee.

message 2768: by Will (new)

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments Good morning.

Patti - the school problem isn't resolved yet. We met the two teachers involved and they were very negative. In their eyes it was all the students' fault. We're meeting them again when the BBITW is over his cold/ flu thing.

Everyone have a good one.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Morning, will do a proper post later, but drained, didn't get home from the fundraising meeting till 10pm. Woke up at 5 with a headache, hobbled down stairs! Dry but cold, got a deadline this morning and seeing what I missed yesterday afternoon.

Hope your shoulder clears Patti. Glad you arrived safely Lynne

G J (Gaff to my friends) Reilly | 1836 comments Morning all. Sunny start to the day in the valley, but still a bit chilly. Crispy duck wraps and a cheeky glass of cava last night with Mrs Gaff, and today's my last day before half-term because of inset day's at my regular schools tomorrow. Weekend a day early? I could get used to that!

L.A. Kent | 3925 comments Morning alls. Supposed to be sunny according to the whizzy new BBC forecast - sadly just as poor as ever, it's raining. Pity they didn't calibrate properly when the new computer was bought in.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ive had a very angry day.

The school didn't pay our electric bill, so I've spent the day getting our power turned back on.

Heads are gonna roll.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Good after-morning! Done the big shop, then caught up with some reviews - haven't got them onto my blog yet. That might have to wait till Monday.

L.A. Kent | 3925 comments Went for the walk, went mussel spotting - enough medium sized for a couple of meals at last. Will go tomorrow with the picking kit!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments What a day yesterday – left the office at 11, to find it was snowing, struggled to find a car parking space, and got to the train station with 14 minutes before my train – which unfortunately was 10 mins late – the new shelter they built on the platform leaks and isn’t draughtproof!! Got to Manchester and had just missed a tram, so got some lunch, then got lost finding the place – I had contemplated getting a taxi, but looked at the queues on the road and decided against it. Got there bang on time, which meant I missed tea/coffee, so when I got back to the train station and missed the train home by 1 min, so had to wait 30 mins for the next one I treated myself to a Cherry Amaretto White Hot Choc! Had a brief stay at home, before going off to the fundraising meeting, calling at the vets and Morrisons on the way. Didn’t leave the meeting till 9.40, so didn’t get chance to scan the cat, and was shattered when I got home. Had a nightmare this morning, realised that our deadline was a hard copy and not an upload, poor colleague had to jump in the car to go to Liverpool, with only just enough time to do it. Decided to ring the helpdesk to sort out a problem with a portal we use, after 20 mins, and 3 people, I was given a different number!! Hoping the afternoon will go better, I’ve just booked my random ¼ day holiday, so finishing early at least. Have also randomly decided to get back into puzzles, I do the few that are in my TV mag weekly, but dug out my old half completed puzzle books and working through them. Very windy here for some reason.

Sorry your electricity got messed about Patti

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Afternoon, all. We enjoyed pancake Tuesday so much we've had them again for lunch.
Sounds a ridiculous ordeal, Desley - hope the rest of today goes a bit better!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Afternoon went better but decided I'm completely bonkers, going way above and beyond for the charity. So tired I'd like to go to bed now, luckily we are having takeaway

Just to second that Desley. It does strike me that you're doing a bit much and it's starting to tell on you

Thanks, you're not the only one to say that! Ironically I did change charities to do less but I'm still unable to say no

Jim | 21809 comments I got a friend of mine a fridge magnet with a picture of a Rhino and the words "What part of No do you not understand"
I think you ought to treat yourself :-)

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments Good morning all. It's POETS day!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Morning all, shocking night sleep so feel rubbish but it's Friday! Cold but dry. Only one deadline today, then a meeting. After work am going to try and finish the homing paperwork, then food shopping. Thanks Jim, not seen that one.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Morning all, it's another beautiful day and the wind has dropped since yesterday so it's even nicer.
Had a wee pootle down to St Abbs yesterday to visit a gallery who are going to take some of my work for their next exhibition, which is nice. But the A1 is a terrible road though. I passed tractors in both directions and there are huge lorries coming out of side roads across both carriageways. And dual carriageway would be nice! This is the major route out of Scotland on the east side...

message 2792: by Tim (new)

message 2793: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I love that sort of trivia, Tim.

I'm just waiting for Alla to finish up so I can have my house back.

Jim | 21809 comments Will wrote: "There is no rain. I feel bereft."

I know the feeling!

I had to go to Penrith for a comparatively early morning meeting. Came out of the lane end looking out over Morecambe Bay to see the sun risen over the Pennines, casting a road of molten gold across the bay
From that point on the journey was worth it :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You should have walked, Jim.

message 2798: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments last week I went by train. Mainly because I've done something to my metatarsal but a few days rest at a conference, plus an X ray which showed no problems (so no fracture or arthritis) means it's not as bad as it was and putting poundland memoryfoam inserts in all my shoes/wellingtons has helped. Certainly I drove there and back without discomfort which I couldn't have managed a fortnight ago
Actually wellingtons were the most comfortable anyway.

message 2799: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I tried those pound land memory foam insoles in my walking shoes.
Flat as pancakes in a week.

Upgraded to gel ones. Much better.

message 2800: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I use gel ones. Still get them from pound shops if I can. Gel's gel.

Just back from the lunch with old work mates. Stuffed! This evening we're off out for a meal with other mates. I must get this better organised!
