Lynne, sending positive vibes re the little baby and so, so wish all the best for him and the family.Desley, I locked my three cats in tonight. We live at the start of the Coast Road in St Clement and the firework displays were all over the place tonight.
The fur babies were on lock down and, to mask the fireworks, I had TV or radio on in every room. I also roasted a chicken as the three of them go mental when they smell it and just hang about the kitchen. I let them out about an hour ago but they're all back in now. We'll probably have to go through the same tomorrow!!
Good morning! All of my best thoughts for the baby, Lynne.
I know the whole group is rooting for him.
Morning,I clearly spoke too soon, woke at 5.30 aching from my ears to the soles of my feet! Woke again at 7.30 ravenous, but still achy, so glad I did as much as I did yesterday as I'm only fit for the sofa/bed. Glad baby is off the ventilator Lynne, fingers crossed he continues to improve. Hope you don't have as many fireworks tonight Kelly
Dave has been glued to his laptop all morning, firing off emails. He really needs to put it down so we can go shopping and have some breakfast before it's suddenly dinner time!
Morning everyone. Been non stop here lately, didn't realise we'd broken another thread!! I'll catch up on all the news later, I have a cat hassling me for breakfast!
Morning, each, and it's a fine and sunny autumn morning here. Got a few creative jobs to do today. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm going to play all day!

Morning everyoneSunny here today - lovely not to have to wear a raincoat to go out in.
Fingers X'd for the baby Lynne - our son was critically ill when born - premature and lungs not developed enough to be able to breathe on his own. He survived all manner of crises and is now nearly thirty and my chief quality sci-fi/fantasy source.

We went through that with both of my sister's girls. First was born at 28 weeks, second at 30 weeks.
They're all grown up, in perfect health and two of my favourite people on the planet. The eldest had her first baby not long ago.
Absolutely beautiful day here. Tshirt weather.
Got a nice chunk of pork and some roast veggies in the oven.
Gonna feed my wonderful man before his stupid football comes on later.
Decided to go for a walk to visit my husband's grand-parents' grave, and go via a beach van that does fab breakfast rolls . Got some flowers at the nearby shop and set off on what is a 40 minute walk. Turned back 5 mins later as the heavens opened and we had sideways rain, which was followed by hail. Came home, made bacon sandwiches, and now it is dry and sunny outside. May try again later.Have loads to do and am therefore jumping between about 5 things at once and not finishing any of them! Hmmmm I better focus.
Sounds like quite a few of you have got lovely weather . Enjoy the day.

Good morning, my lovelies! (Said in a bad Welsh accent that sounds slightly Irish)What happened to the weekend? Flew by, it did.
I've got the balcony door open and its uncannily quiet out there. I wonder if they've got a bunch of roads closed today. They seem to be doing that rather frequently lately.
Spilled a glass of wine all over the coffee table after dinner last night. Thought my phone escaped harm but it was restarting itself every two hours all through the night, annoyingly. Took it out of the case this morning and there was a bit of moisture in it. Gave it a good wipe and reset it. Seems to be working now. I hope. Don't really want the hassle of buying a new phone right now. Buying one isn't really a problem, having to jump through hoops to get it registered so it works here is. Yep, gotta register all phones with the gov't here. Probably makes it easier to track any disgruntlement.
Morning all. Doing Nano. Trying a new writing technique and am pleasantly surprised as it's gone rather well so far. Hoping I can push on this week the same way. Think I have at least another 20k lined up in my head before I run out of puff. Cheers

Morning all.Lynne that's so saddening. Hope the baby has improved over the weekend.
Spent sat evening in Newquay watching an absolutely stunning fireworks display, while eating fish and chips (locally sourced fish, of course.) Lovely.
Morning all! Full-on frost here, and I've cranked up the office heating.
Lynne, here's hoping that's a good sign!
Morning all, while I don't feel as achy, I did decide to ring in sick, and had a coughing fit while leaving a voicemail for my boss! Typical it's another sunny day that I can't enjoy.
Forst here too. Yet it's bright and shiny and I did the first walk to the post office and back since I had the dreaded plantar fasciitis. So far, so good. Still hurts in the morning for a few minutes till I get going, but I'm okay so far after a brisk ten minute walk.
Good morning all. I've been up to my neck in marketing doohickeys all morning (and much of the weekend too). It's one of those "knee bone is connected to the thigh bone" sort of things. My facebook account now sends people to my website. The website sends them to mailchimp. Mailchimp connects to bookfunnel. Hear the world of the Lord!
I think I need a coffee.
Morning everyone.Back to grey and drizzle today.
We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday, saw snow on the top of Ben Lomond in the distance, and bought a pair of Arbroath smokies for tonight.
Oh Will, I am in awe at your technical skills. Well done.Best to stay tucked up in bed, Desley. Hope you have a rest.
Gorgeous sunny day but wee bit chilly - not that I'm bovvered - I'm stuck at work . . .
Patti (baconater) wrote: "What are they?"Smoked haddock. The fish is cut into pairs and hung to smoke traditionally. Bony but gorgeous!

I've opted to lie on the sofa under my heated blanket. Cat has abandoned me though

I should think so too Will, after all that singing! I'll probably have that song on my brain all day now!
Good morning! The sky is touching the ground today. Depressing.
That's probably where this thumping headache has come from. That and waking up a half dozen times in the night. Bleurgh.
Got a beef casserole in the oven. Thought I'd cook it now and re-heat it later as casseroles always taste better re-heated.
Might bake something in a bit if I can find some enthusiasm.
Must have found my enthusiasm.Made a double chocolate almond cake and now I've got a double chocolate coconut cake in the oven.
The almond one looks like it'll be nice and fudgy. Don't think I'll bother icing it.
Morning all, had a shocking night sleep with a temperature and coughing, so rang in sick again, but can't get back to sleep. Already had a text from a colleague asking if I know a password, good job I have an odd memory. Raining here, so won't mind another day on the sofa, will break it up by washing up
Just been outside in what I can only describe as a deluge. The water pouring off some box profile roofing reminded me of the time I was looking through the curtain of a waterfall, from the inside.
Morning all! I'm also distinctly coming down with the flu, though managed to drag myself to work as I'm already covering for someone else.Hope you feel better soon, Desley!
Morning. I hope you soon feel better, all you poorlies.Just been for my second yomp to the post office - just to buy a paper - and my foot isn't too bad. Hoping to build up all the muscels that haven't been used for so long.
When we got back, I went out to look at my sweet peas. I have a wigwam of Elizabeth of Glamis which have flowered profusely all summer. They have no scent so I've not bothered to bring any indoors and now I've harvested a few seed pods. I shall sow them again and see if I can get them going a second time. The seeds were from a friend, our flower arranging tutor, who opened her packet and gave us all a few each.
Kath wrote: "What, you mean spray 'em with Chanel?"That's what my kitchen needs at the moment after the Smokies! (Yes, they were delish.)
Morning everyone.
Hairdressers today. If it continues to be dry, I may walk there. Himself is in the wars again with a bad back and what may be tennis elbow so he's stopping in.
Well, I thought I was feeling better till I went to do the washing up and realised it was lying down that was helping! Despite that, have just told a colleague I'm hoping to go in tomorrow, my boss hasn't acknowledged my voicemails though
Good evening, good friendly peeps. I'm not quite sure where the morning went. Some days you look up and it's supper time and you're not quite sure where the hours went.Hope everyone is fit and well.
Hi all. Baby is a week old now, he’s still critical but he’s got a CPAP machine for breathing in the incubator and is off the ventilator. It’s tiny improvements, his mum is in hotel accomodation at the hospital, so she’s improved. It’s really wait and see and they don’t know what longterm problems with mobility etc he will have. Apart from that everything is quiet here. OH is going to France next week. I’m stopping home as he’s flying this time as he’s only going for a few days.
