The Mem is cooking roast veg and hummus pie.
Very Surrey."
Sounds very yummy!
Hummous pie sounds interesting. Got a recipe?

We've still not had anything close to a snow day. We've had at least one by now every year in the past. Sucks.

He better not give it to me!

Houmous pie sounds very interesting.

Is there any possibility it's just a cold? Or is the flu rampant in Baku? Hope he's better soon.

Phew! Success! Hope he loves school and learning.

Oh no!
Keeps going white here but its hail, so isn't lasting

Will, what a nightmare - sorry to hear the sale fell through.
Desley, glad the outcome was a non-event.
Rain is pouring and we've got a red storm warning and heavy thunderstorm warning.

We had a quote for a new boiler today. Old one working OK but did you know they aren’t allowing spares to be made for old type boilers. Its apparently a government thing to push everyone into having condensing boilers, not 100% sure I believe that.

We've another viewing now on Friday. We are so useless in England & Wales - we need to have the Scottish system on house sales, which stops idiots like that.

Good morning!
Dave is staying home today. He had a rough night.

How many times is that now Will? You must be completely sick of it.
I have a cold bug thing. Shaking so much last night for a bit I couldn't hold a mug without spilling. Poor night's sleep and currently radiating heat like some kind of storage heater. Even my hair hurts.

Dave sez he's feeling better now than he did last night. That's always the way though, isn't it? Being sick always seems to get worse as the day goes on.

Will so sorry re house. A lovely young couple my parents know (buying) just had theirs fall through at exchange when the seller decided not to sell after all. They lost seven grand over it on surveys etc.
Had a total me day yesterday. Did what I wanted which was work on a new Zazzle store for eyebombing accoutrements. Postcards so far but there will bet shirts too. Might do onr at cafe press as well. It was grand chuckles. Also bought more wool. Put my back out. Not sure how. It was very painful yesterday but the pain is more localised today. Think I chilled it maybe. Day at Mum and Dad's today so it will get a good rest.
Morning all. :-)

Not sure that's true but it will save you cash, same thing happened to us. It cost £16 to run our old heating for four hours a day and we were freezing. New boiler costs less than £16 a day to run constantly and the house is warm. The difference is phenomenal. Get more quotes though. :-)
Cheers
MTM

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish R. Good luck with the new boiler Lynne, I'm getting one when the weather improves. Hope your back gets better soon MT, glad you got some me time

Oh shit, Mike.
I hope you're going to get a substantial pay out!

Hope you feel better soon, Rosemary.
Morning, all. Snow on the ground here, and my hands were numb by the time I got to the train station.

Best wishes for everyone who is icky. My Mum has a lovely saying about that. She will say that she's under the doctor with her chest. That one always made me giggle.

It was all organised at a high level, so all our line managers were shocked and surprised about it as well.

And Michael - lets hope you find something else soon. And that it's even better.
My social calender is in overdrive again. Ladies' lunch, and book club this evening. Trying to do some deep edits but I have to keep going out and enjoying myself. You'd feel sorry for me if you knew, wouldn't you?

Organized? I think the better word would be 'plotted.'

I'm looking for a new boiler too Lynne, just want like for like because my water tank is brill but I need to upgrade as they don't do parts for mine now, it's as old as the house! Also need a new bathroom and decking because my decking's a death trap and my bath and toilet are starting to fall apart! It never rains! Debating about whether to just pave the area instead of deck, might be easier in the long run.
Passed my exam and first essay last week and survived my first night shift since September! Nearly tea time, stir fried steak I think tonight, treated myself to a HelloFresh box this week to vary things up.

Coming soon, a film called The Mercy - looks brilliant. Based on The Strange Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst, and the trailer looks great even though it's Colin Firth

Hope everyone with cold/flu gets better soon.
The island has been bashed and bruised by wind and rain. We need our windows replaced and it can't happen soon enough. The frames were rattling so much in the night I thought the wind was going to batter right through them.

Claire decking can be very slippery if it rains a lot. It goes green here

Dave sez he's well enough to go to work. He doesn't look too bad. No fever. It must just be a cold.

I misread that as 'human pie' at first. Would that still be very surrey?
