Things you ought to do but you know that if you can possibly wriggle out, you will.

I'm feeling very proud of myself. I bought a telescopic duster from the pound shop and have removed the cobwebs from the ceilings. First time ever. I just hope they hadn't become structural cobwebs over the years...
If anyone is interested, ASDA is selling mince pies for 22p. I bought four boxes to take to Baku to share with friends who have never experienced them. I'll let you know what they think. They should like them, I think. Pastry is big there, as is dried fruit.

I have a d'oh! list.A list of stupid things I've done. I think of it as a reverse bucket list. 1001 things I really shouldn't have done before I die.

Brilliant! I suspect I have one of those, starting with relationships I should never have got into...
Evening all,That's really good news about your OH Alicia!
My wife is absolutely bloody awesome. She has bought me a replacement Kindle as a surprise!
I have a shan't! list, subtitled No, not even if you ask nicely.I have made an outrageously hot potato curry for tonight. A touch heavy handed on the old chilli powder...
Nice surprise Lindsay :)
Yay Ally!She's a keeper, Lindsay.
I've got lamb shanks in the oven. Lamb stinks!
I've no mint sauce here. Got about six jars of it in Baku.
Bugger.

Oh gawd, yes. Me too.
Often recalled whilst suffering a hangover.
I got the best Christmas present today though a little belated. HbA1C is down from 49 to 41. Now in normal range, thanks to low-carb, grain-free living since October. I could get used to being a carnivorous squirrel. :)

Yes she is!
Mine consists of things like defrost freezer; clean inside of windows etc - no wonder I keep putting them off!! Just as I was debating starting, my neighbour offered me a lift to B & M, so nothing done today. One good thing of all my waiting time, I've read 60% of the book I started on NYD! Optician said no sign of iritis, nothing wrong with my eyes and I can carry on wearing my 15 year old glasses - when I can straighten them, they fell down the stairs yesterday!! Just noticed the time, better go and eat tea (which my neighbour has cooked)What a lovely gesture Lindsay. Good news Lisa, although not sure what that means. Did you not think of buying mint sauce Patti? No more mince pies for me, but did notice earlier I haven't touched the Pannetone, and have no alcoholic cream left
Love lamb. Hate mint sauce.Good news that you have a brilliant wife, Lindsay, but I'm sure you knew that!
Good health news from Desley and Lisa too!
Good health news is always good to hear! Yay!Looks like they'll have everything in place for Dave's mother to return home next Monday, inshalla.
Was hoping it'd be before we have to fly but not to be. Really pleased she's still doing well and her extended stay in hospital hasn't worsened her health.
I bought TWO salted caramel cupcakes today. Contemplating having one. But then I'll only have one left. :(
Glad she is nearly ready to go home, shame it isn't before you fly though. Could save a cupcake for tomorrow.Lucy has been kind today and bought presents for people
Hugs and good news all round I hope :) I do like mint sauce but unfortunately it has too much sugar in. Never mind, I can have as much bacon as I like on this regime.

Blog it!
Lisa wrote: "Hugs and good news all round I hope :) I do like mint sauce but unfortunately it has too much sugar in. Never mind, I can have as much bacon as I like on this regime."All condiments have stupid amounts of sugar. That's why they taste so good.
Lindsay wrote: "My wife is absolutely bloody awesome. She has bought me a replacement Kindle as a surprise!"Perfect way to feel about a wife - enjoy your new present.
I make my own mint sauce so it has sugar, hot water, salt and viningar in it but none of the other off the shelf chemical content. Christmas wasn't pretty but it's done and I'm flying. Blog post here if you want to know how it went. https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2017/12/28/de...

Morning all,Wet and dismal here. Waiting at the train station for a colleague whose car had died. Train is delayed! What a surprise.
I've never thought to make my own mint sauce. Should do. I expect it's easy.Good morning!
It's foul out there. Dave has a 9 o'clock appointment at the bank. Glad I don't have to go.
Morning all, disturbed night sleep so didn't want to get up. And then found out it's still raining! First vet visit of the year, then was going to get the car washed! Will see. If not, I'll do something off the to do list and some admin
Morning! Mint sauce is so easy to make that I wouldn't dream of buying it if I liked it.Cake club. Off to have my breakfast there.
Morning, all! I saw a couple of rabbits on the way to the train - we were worried the nearby building work had disturbed them, so it's good to see they're still around.
Morning all. I'm in a bubbly mood this morning because I've just sold a short story to Women's Friend magazine. Be still my beating heart.Hope everyone is fit and well.
Great news Will. Raining heavily here, so only way the car is getting washed is if I put some washing up liquid on it for the rain to wash off!

problem is, the minute you mention the 'to don't list' (Things you ought to do but you know that if you can possibly wriggle out, you will) the world in general will demand that you start doing more and wriggling less
it's the list that can never be published
still I'm pondering
So true. There are some things on mine that I know people don't even realise need to be done. I'm not giving them a stick to beat me with!
Will wrote: "Morning all. I'm in a bubbly mood this morning because I've just sold a short story to Women's Friend magazine."Congratulations, Will!
Great start to the year.

hi good going that!
Well, I'm feeling quite good with myself for ticking quite a lot off mine today, it's now really windy as well as wet, so it was that or watch TV. Now just doing some admin. Nipped to the optician after the vet, she kindly straightened my glasses, then I commented on her cat cup - left 15 mins later!!
Billy had an operation today, he’s home from the vets, all ok. He had a funny cyst or something on his belly button, not a hernia though. He’s sore, dopey and quite ‘off’ with OH as he was the one who took him to the vets. It’s been very windy here again, 70mph plus so it’s still very rough and risks of floods at high tides.

Well smack me on the bottom...

Good Evening and a Happy New Year everyone.Spent Hogmanay re-living our youthful pasts while Bil DJd his way through our collection of 45s. Amen Corner, Manfred Mann, The Kinks, Dave Dee, Bobby Vee etc. etc. A jolly good time was had by all! The neighbours are probably grateful that peace and normality have more or less returned. Just the vestigial deccies to slide away tomorrow, and that's it for another year. Will my Cointreau last beyond May this year I wonder?
Good morning, thanks for that Lindsay, I’ve not known what day of the week it was for a fortnight. It felt like Friday yesterday. I’ve now got Will’s ear worm. Could be worse it’s a jolly song.
Elizabeth, we must be the same vintage, i saw most of those groups live, when they were young and so was I. I’ve also got some Cointreau!
Good morning!I've got two bottles of Cointreau. One regular and one blood orange. The regular has been in the flat unopened for a couple of years. I finally cracked it on Christmas Eve and had one. I'll have to make sure it's tightly capped so it doesn't evaporate. The blood orange is still sealed.
Last full day before we fly. Got some last minute shopping to do to fill the suitcases. Think I'll have a wee splurge at Waitrose.
Making a decadent seafood pasta for dinner. Got most of a box of wine to get through, too.
The neighbour will be getting that, I think. Don't like to drink much the night before flying.
Morning all, appears dry but overcast. Last proper day of my holiday, me and a trustee are taking our beagle to Beagle Welfare in the Midlands. Hoping to see a friend after that.Enjoy your last minute shopping Patti. Safe journey Will
