Hi everyone hope no one minds me posting we havent got much planned today going food shopping the joys when we have two kids in tow.hope everyone has a good new years eve :)

Off shortly with daughter and family to visit son and family. The grand reunion.Home to more cooking!
We'll probably do what we normally do for new years eve, which is pretty much nothing :-)Having done the morning milking for thirty consecutive new years days, I've never seen a lot of point in seeing the new year in. I've managed it twice, one of them was by accident because we had a cow calving :-)
At least I avoid having to go to parties to mix with people I normally avoid :-)
I bought way too many crumpets. Three left. Who wants them?
Morning all, dry and calm here, quite light. Lucy tried waking me up at 7, relented at 8. Was supposed to go for a walk with a friend who has just cancelled, so contemplating what to do now, would like to finish my book. Going to a friends for new yearI do that too Patti, but as you say, its relaxing. I'll have a crumpet thanks, Lucy is preventing me getting to the kitchen again. Safe journey Will

With husband recovering from eye surgery, and me not wanting to leave him alone at home (much less have him have to come rescue me), I will be skipping the New Year's Eve party I've been going to for years with my folk music group. I was looking forward to it, as we shouldn't be in this part of the country next year (if we are, things have gone very badly wrong). Funny how things unravel.
Have spent several pleasurable evenings watching Firefly with our youngest daughter - she'll be leaving today, and I will miss her.
Life keeps changing things out from under you.

Evening. Had a good day driving around transporting blood and samples and things around the area (I even made it across the river a few times!). Had a nice curry for tea and I've got cheese and crackers and things for later. Not sure I'll make it though, bit tired at the moment! Think I will probably see 2018 in in bed!!
I'm giving bullet journalling a go and I've got a goals and resolutions page for next year. The quote at the bottom is 'I aim to misbehave'. Need to watch Firefly again next year, watched Serenity the other day though.

Good morning, it’s not raining here! Just taken little dog out as OH is starting the new year with a D&V bug. Feel very sorry for him as we’ve got a lovely piece of sirloin all ready for lunch. Hope I don’t catch his bugs but if I do it will kickstart some weight loss.

It's cold in the cabin. No snow here but it's damp and I hate damp weather with a passion. Fog is OK and I love a bit of snow or crisp hoar frost but damp gets in my old bones and makes me feel cold even when it isn't particularly. Other than that all is well today. Our Christmas was a little subdued as Colin's older brother passed away but he is doing OK or at least as well as might be expected. The funeral is on Friday. My sister came to visit on Saturday and I opened a bottle of champers but as Ollie was worried about the weather they didn't stay long and so I ended up finishing it myself. HIC! No problem there. I hope 2018 is a good year for everyone.

Had a seafood feast with the in-laws last night and watched the Jools Holland Hootenany. In-laws stayed overnight and it was 2am by the time we finished the washing up and collapsed into bed.
Was blowing a hoolie last night as well. Our 3 exceptionally annoyed cats were on lockdown but perked up when the seafood came out.
Back to work tomorrow. On the bright side my new car should be ready to collect. I've been waiting 3 months. Will be happy to have my independence back. Imagine the joy of jumping in the car and popping to Waitrose whenever you feel like it.

Sorry for my foreigner's lack of knowledge but what is a "Loony Dook"?
Running into the sea en masse! Usually either on Boxing Day or New Year's Day. Biggest one is at South Queensferry along the coast from here, it's quite organised and I think ticketed, whereas our one is just whoever turns up. Considered bad form to wear a wetsuit, but fancy dress is OK :)
Got back from my walk at the right time, rain is quite heavy. Even bumped into a colleague. Now starting my first book of the year, sat with the foster cats while my neighbour cooks teaEnjoy the new car Kelly, Lucy has just asked to go out till she saw the wind and rain. Sorry about Colin's brother Lisa
