I am now on holiday in France. It’s bloody marvellous. There are six of us; two families of three. Have stuffed my face today but because I had a big breakfast and no lunch I am only a little over the target set on my food pontoon (or diet as the normals call it). Wahoo.
It’s really hot here but lovely. We had to get round the M25 so I reckon going on Thursday morning, we just got out in time.
Desley I am so impressed with all the stuff you do and getting the steps in. Nice work and hope the foot is soon sorted.

Hope you have a great holiday MT, glad it's hot there, dropped considerably here and had rain, although we needed it. Thanks for the encouragement.

Yes my daughter likes A Rare Benedictine: The Advent of Brother Cadfael Cadfael
I have them all in the big omnibus editions, three books in one. She finds them too heavy for comfort and so is buying them as individual stories in charity shops :-)

Posted at the same time there Jim, I did try a Cadfael book this year, but wasn't keen on it.

Very fond of Brother Cadfael - books and TV versions with Derek Jacobi.

I wonder whether the other pain is because with your toe you're not 'walking properly'
I had that when I twisted on knee and by sparing that knee I ended up having pain in the opposite hip. It was only when I walked properly and 'took the discomfort' from the knee that my hip stopped playing up
Sorry you didn't like Cadfael, but I suspect it's a matter of taste. My daughter loves Agatha Christie and can sit and devour them, one book after another. I like the occassional one but if I read more than two, they get a bit cloying for me. Cadfael is the same for her, when I had my gall bladder out I just sat and read them the full set, one after another. Yet she likes them but cannot read more than a couple at a time :-)

It could well be that Jim, or the fact that my bandage is covering most of the part of foot I put my magnesium gel on, I was expecting some extra pain. I love Agatha Christie too, the film I watched on Sun was one of adaptations, not the usual Agatha Christie (partly no Poirot or Miss Marple in it!).

But take care, and don't undo the doctor's good work, and in a couple of weeks you will be past all this.

I'll try Alicia, even ratty neighbour said yesterday I need to sit on my bum more

Yes, a bit of rest just now will help things heal quicker Desley. Just sit and read!

Wow, fantastic

But you are the best judge of what is too much for yourself (as long as you don't have to go back to the doctor to fix it), but I'm chuckling and shaking my head at your energy and what you consider 'minimum' necessary cleaning - so go at it, and keep up the reports.
Hope this fixes the problems - and you're back to a better version of yourself asap.

Me too!

Thanks guys, figured I better do all the floors as apart from the bathroom, they all had dirty litter on (and I do only have 5 rooms, although I normally leave the stairs for the cleaner, I did do them this weekend), which I didn't think would be hygienic with my toe, and it hasn't been done since the day of my op, as I had hoovered before I went. I actually used to have to do more housework, when I fostered, there were daily, weekly and between cats checklists to be done, plus I had to take more care of the front room and landing for when people were viewing cats, I apologised to one person about the litter on the floor, and they said they expected it, but didn't want that to be people's impressions of the foster homes. Sounds lovely MT.

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounded sound.
Let us know if you try it.

I love reading books set in Jersey, I can picture certain things, but just couldn't believe the department stores being so old, which is odd, as the book is the history of the person who founded Boots, which is also still going

That is true Alicia, I ordered 4 today, including a strawberry scented one. Luckily the nail varnish stand is hidden by the cat food overflow. so I can't see I have enough!!

Don't walk TOO much in the grocery store tomorrow - get the basics first, and be prepared to bail - because you'll still have to drive home and carry them in after you get them to your car (and there's no telling how long the line might be at checkout - like your 30 minutes in traffic).
Normal will be VERY soon.

It's certainly not a normal statement!!

Hard to know exactly what is necessary and what is too much; sounds like you're navigating it thoughtfully.

I suspect as your toe does get better the rest of your problems will ease because you'll go back to walking more normally

It's a sentence to cherish :-)"
Yep, Desley, I was chuckling at that one too.

Well, she's 14, and has probably been eating unsuitable food longer than the 6.5 years I've had her, to get so obsessed with things cat's don't normally eat to draw blood getting it from you!
