New Year's resolutions? Don't make em. I just pat myself on the back for getting to the end of another year.
Alicia. I don't know how you did that. Although luckily, my son does eat broccoli!
Jim, if you're doing more hedging, you'll have trouble getting fatter and unfitter!

That is another option MT! That's why I went for things I actually enjoy. I don't know what sounds better, doing jury service or reading while I should be working. Hope you enjoyed the massage.

We have one daughter who prefers raw carrot to cooked, so her portion is just set aside before cooking. It's not a problem :-)

Because of having to be pretty immobile for a fortnight after the eye job, then wet weather encouraging me to do paperwork etc, I went into Christmas busy but not active. It's not a good combination :-)

I keep moving ahead because there is nothing else to do but quit, and I don't do that, but, man!, the energy that gets wasted.
Other people's lack of clarity overwhelms my tiny speck of energy. And that day the writing doesn't happen.
Life - but irritating.
Glad you got out - I'd like to come along on a walk some day!

"Avoid relationships that leave you depleted. This calls for establishing clear boundaries for the relationship up front. You don’t have time to spend your life straightening out misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and injured egos. How far are you willing to go? How much are you inclined to invest? When you overspend your budget, you go broke."

It's your choice how and with whom you spend your time, but I agree with Jim that you sound much lighter.

Second time that's been said this week Alicia! Amazing how things like not leaving the house for a day used to bother me, but not any more.

Thanks MT, funny how she kept nagging me to do what she thought I should do going 'it's called having fun' and 'it's called living', yet now I'm allowed to just do what I want, I feel much happier. We've had an overcast day that feels like we haven't seen daylight.

It looks like your management are enjoying working from home as well :-)

Some are Jim, some don't like working from home. We have an obligation to reduce our carbon footprint, and the blended working helps with that, so don't think they will reverse it

I watch a lot of British crime shows, and they often have something called an FLO - family liaison officer - to support the people affected by a crime. Could be a model. At least tell you someone like this exists. I definitely hope the next person will at least be HUMAN.

The walk sounds like a wise move

We've had Storm Malik to contend with this weekend, it turned out not so bad here as it was further north, but that didn't stop them cancelling all the trains into Edinburgh again.

With us it was a bit windy but nothing special, we caught the bottom edge of the bottom edge by the sound of it

Yes, my department has always been quite accommodating with hols, as we work round deadlines.

I'm getting a sports massage today, I can't wait. My back is giving me real grief from being so tense, I've so many knots in my right shoulder. Hopefully I'll get some relief.
I did Jury service in Aberdeen once, I also didn't get picked but it was fun to spend hours reading instead of sitting in work.
Good luck with keeping those well-being changes Desley, our course has a large self-care aspect to it so I'm trying to make small changes too but with everything going on I often lack the motivation!
