Oh no, Flo. Hope you both get home soon. I don't suppose that was the sort of pint he really wanted.

Yum.

I'm so sleepy. If I get too comfy on the couch, I may be here all night.

We've been back and to all week as well, as K has a rellie admitted after collapsing last weekend - now diagnosed with vascular dementia.

Christmas has been interesting. Would make a pukka sitcom. Think I will have to write it up as a blog post. Christmas with father Jack. Feck! Arse! Girls! Ten a penny? Tena pants etc. Etc
Have a horrible feeling of foreboding. Am afraid we will all die on the road tomorrow but actually what it probably means is that my hormones are giving me gyp.
Ho hum.
Merry Christmas!
Night night all.

Nine hours uninterrupted sleep! Now that's what I call a perfect Christmas present.
Glad hubby is doing better, Flo. Dave's mother is, as well. She's ready for discharge but can't be until social services sorts out after care, which probably won't be until the new year. I just hope she doesn't pick up anything while she's stuck in the hospital.
Sheesh Mary, sounds like we have quite the blog post in store for us. I know what you mean about hormonally induced bleak thoughts. I seem to be having 'don't be so silly' conversations with myself quite frequently these days. Was a bit embarrassing having to explain myself to Dave when he caught me muttering 'stupid cow' to myself.
It was, however, one of the few times he agreed with me, so that was nice...
Nothing planned for today, other than chipping the dried food off the dishes in the sink. Perhaps should have run water over them as I was too slovenly to wash them last night.
I didn't want to miss any of the film I was watching, okay?
I only missed the ending. :D

Hope they sort Dave's mum out soon. I feel a bit less nervous now the wind has died down. It was blowing a hooley last night grim for driving home.:-) nice to hear I'm not the only nutter.
Cheers

Glad Ken is feeling better and can come home. Glad Dave's mum is better, shame she can't come home. Looking forward to the blog post MT

Certainly not the first time they've done that.
You've just got to keep going, even if it means crawling along with the door open on the passenger side to make sure you're not driving into the ditch.
Said they didn't need to use 4 wheel drive too often, so wasn't too bad. And was daytime, so they didn't have the time travel vortex of snow in their headlights as you do at night.

At least the township is plowing their road once a day now. My brother had to do it himself for years. Three miles, about three hours, looking backward over his shoulder cuz the blower was on the back of the tractor.
On the plus side, they rarely have unannounced visitors.
I've got a photo of their place, taken a few years ago..

if it's any consolation we might be having our first dry day since Monday 18th

Wow! I have to say Jim, this is the only time of year I like rain, as the alternative is snow. We've had something slightly harder than rain today

My oldest daughter is a member of the Lake District Ski Club, https://www.ldscsnowski.co.uk/
She had a great day skiing on the Raise on the flanks of Helvellyn last week, so Cumbria has had snow for a while

You didn't need to send the rain south, you know.

I am so sorry, Flo. It's been a horrible year. Please accept my sympathy and condolences for you and your family.

It was dry this morning here, first time in a fortnight, but the last couple of hours have been horrendous. It’s more torrential rain on already waterlogged ground so I’m sure there’s will be flooding. Husband even put his waterproof trousers he walks in just to take the dogs out for a wee.
