There's a strip of sunshine lighting up Summerset but clouds in the rest of the sky now. It's meant to rain, of course.I just woke up from a nap too, Desley. Suppose I should hang the wash I put on this morning. Perhaps if I glare at Dave hard enough, he'll do it...

Well, spent a lovely 3 hours sitting with cats, walking dogs (which was a privilege, the ones i helped arent good with people, it's the first time I've been allowed) and helping feed animals, its my favourite thing to do on Christmas eve. Not eaten or drank enough though, am ignoring the housework, going to treat myself to a bath, a few drinks and getting in a freshly made bed, after sending a few emails.

That is why I open one present on Christmas Eve
One present Christmas Eve.And the kids were allowed to open/play with anything clearly labeled as 'from Santa' the next morning - the parents got to sleep while the novelty wore off.

Sneaking in while Dave does the washing up.I'm completely pogged.
We were always allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve.
Always new jammies so we wouldn't look like raggamuffins in the Christmas morning photos.
Chocolate fudge cheesecake and a small Cointreau for pudding in a bit.
Much nicer than a Terry's chocolate orange.

It's also a good chance to catch up with the people who run the rescue, who I am friendly with
I got 2 new pairs of jammies in the post yesterday. I shall have a nice long bubble bath tonight, and then I have to decide which jammies to wear. Will it be the Darth Vader ones or the Animal from the Muppets one?
The bulb was a Homebase’s one, will have to look where it came from. My OH always says about Chinese electrical products that they know what they look like and the boxes are good but the actual item is usually very dodgy. Talking of Chinese products I’m ashamed to say I bought some discs of precut round greaseproof papers for cake tins from Amazon. They were a couple of pounds and I usually cut my own but I was feeling lazy. Anyway they came from China. Greaseproof paper!! I’ll look harder next time what a waste. Rant overHave a lovely Christmas everyone. Xxx
I've just had my best Christmas present - have just hand fed Coco her supper! She did hiss when I got a sneaky touch of her cheek, but it didn't stop her coming back for more! Merry Christmas Claire
Merry Christmas everyone. My neighbour has decided to feed extra people today, so I'm on delivery duty, I don't mind as its our volunteers
Is Will awake? Has he not realised it's Christmas? Hope he doesn't sleep through!! :) Have a lovely day everyone and hope Santa was good to you.
Merry Christmas, y'all!Anyone know when the Amazon Boxing Day sale starts? Nothing on the website about it.
Good afternoon. I’m in the ‘sweet spot’. Turkey out of oven, potatoes in and nothing to do for 10 minutes. Cheers everyone.
Well that was it then. Took longer to plan and cook than it did to eat it. Stuffed and slightly squiffy that’s me. All washed up as well. Just about to open presents now if I can open them before those dogs of mine get into them. Really enjoyed our day.
Have our youngest home for Christmas. It's after 10am here, and she's still asleep. I love it when they're not little any more!Merry Christmas to all men and women of good will. Let's give it a go of trying to get along, shall we?
Just watched the Queen, & rounding it off with syrup sponge & custard, and a cup of tea. Then I think I shall have. a bit of a nap!
Glad everyone has had a good day. I spent that long chatting to our manager and cuddling dogs that my neighbour had eaten by the time I got back! Ended up with more pj's (only got some last month for my birthday), 2 pairs of slippers, 3 mugs and a lot of chocolate amongst others!
I just picked out the phrase "cuddling dogs that my neighbour had eaten" from your post and was very confused!

So full of main course that we're having pudding at suppertime.Feasting in midwinter is a huge act of faith that the sun will come back and the days will lengthen.

Another example of how skipping commas might be dangerous, this time to pets.
It can all be sorted out eventually, but the Brits created the Oxford comma, and I vote for its continued use. Any seconds? I will take the mince pie.
