Posted this morning, but it disappeared, and couldn’t be bothered to type it again!! Lucy’s tests came back clear, so managed to sleep well last night. Woke up and it was foggy and drizzly. Boring day at work, even nearly finished tidying my desk we are that quiet (although not hard, I part tidied it in Sept to avoid too much computer work), then a friend coming round to swap Christmas presents after work. Ironically the heating is properly working now, and the building is so much hotter than it has been for years that we are complaining, and having to use fans/open windows!!

I only like Wensleydale and White Stilton when they have fruit in, think this years Christmas cheese is a white stilton with apricots and amaretto. Hope your niece has a good Christmas with everything she’s been through Lynne. Glad you enjoyed your break Flo, you really deserve it. Am sure whoever is messing your delivery around will regret it Patti!!

Yes, it was bad enough with presents, but when my mother had to borrow money of me and returned it in the form of clothes I finally put my foot down and said if she ever did that again I would never buy her anything but underwear for Christmas

Luckily I never had to put the threat into practice, the lesson seemed to sink home!

I do remember one year asking for something off my sis, and asking my brother for something else, ended up with the same thing twice. At least the charity always gets some things in the new year.

The meat will go to Baku. The champagne to the inlaws.

At the height of his troubles there was a storm and his satellite dish was blown out of alignment. He could get only two channels, both German.
One was porn, the other was football.

I most heartily recommend the Lidl brand Belgian chocolate cheesecake with edible gold glitter on top.
The base is a bit too crumbly but it's lovely and creamy and yum, yum, yum.
Might be sick of it before I finish it, though. Rather a large cake for one person to get through.
Think I'll give half to the neighbours tomorrow.

The mental disconnect is huge - I have hated clothes as presents since I was 11 and the parental units decided not to bother giving me anything I might actually enjoy, like a book, and instead gave me clothes that I didn't like and bath salts I never used.
