Really frosty this morning, clear blue skies and a beautiful sunrise. Slashes of bright pink from the contour trails of planes above. I have my first grief counselling session this morning. Iām looking forward to it.Cheers

Good morning from a sunny East Yorkshire where the council's workforce are making the holes in the road very much bigger then filling them in again. Yesterday they did the road up to Hull. The village was blessedly quiet. Today they're doing to road right outside us. As that's a longer way out of the village they are forecasting four days to sort it. Lots of clanging and revving going on. Ne'mind, eh?
Still foggy today, and still breathless, so might have to go back, as finish the abās today. Woke up with a headache so came to work early, need to go to the chemist after work. It certainly does boost the readability, and the fact that people are still reading them after decades is kind of the definition of a classic! I think Agatha Christie is safe Will, being the Queen of Crime. Hope the counselling goes well MT. Our council are also doing random things with roads this week Kath.
Todayās excitement was very nearly being run over. Woman in a big white SUV does a ā kiss and fly ā on a bend over the dropped kerb and double yellow lines. We were almost all the way across the road and she slammed it into reverse. I just saw her lights come on and slapped the back of her car really hard a couple if times. Had the cheek to glare at us as if we were doing something wrong. I was polite and just said āLook before you reverseā. If it had been kids crossing sheād have squished them. She was inches from us when she stopped. Whew! Builders here today putting ridge tile back from this years gales and a new cowl and slate back from last years gales.
Forgot to go to the chemist as I felt fine when I got home, but regretted that by bedtime! Luckily we are going to the cheap shop tonight and neighbour wants to go to the retail park on the way, which fortunately has a Boots. Still foggy, although we had rain overnight. I do wonder about how people canāt drive near schools Lynne, I have to drive past a couple and one is really bad, they have no concept of right of way and then glare at you!
Eh up! Been shopping, done some editing and now I'm about to make bread. Cos that's how I roll! Actually, a loaf, not rolls...
Blimey! Desley. As someone who has been hit by a car (my fault) I can say it's not a pleasant experience. Well done getting her to stop. Vile fog here and pretty much all the way to Sussex. On the up side, it sounds like Gareth has started recording again, Mum was on great form and I've submitted my tax return! Woot!

Oh and grief counselling was really lovely. Felt a lot better and was able to pass some of the things on to Mum.
Good on you, Lynne - some drivers just don't care! M.T so glad the counselling went well, and you can help your mum a bit as well.
We knocked down a wall in the house today - intentionally! We're moving the kitchen into an old boiler room and opening up to the lounge. We haven't even picked the kitchen stuff yet so we'll be in a mess for a while!

My husband has something similar. But itās people suddenly realising they need to negotiate some fiendishly complicated deal in order to spend their full budget before the end of the financial year. Usually theyāre looking at extensive, three months of rigorous negotiations complicated and fiendish but they expect to complete it all in a few days. And of course, they have no clue that every other client is doing the same thing, either.
The fog came down so thick and suddenly yesterday afternoon that our receptionist thought she was in a horror movie! Luckily it wasnāt too bad to drive in, although traffic seemed worse. Not properly lifted today either. Neighbour needed to go to Asda on the way back from the cheap shop, I went in with her for beans, but came out with cat food! No more now till I get paid and do the Zooplus order. Thought I was a lot better this morning, until I was that out of breath walking from the car to my desk that I needed my inhaler, so will go back in the morning. Probably not helped by waking up at 5.30 and not being able to get back to sleep. Ran out of anti-inflams, so need to go to the chemist tonight and see if my order has been done yet. Also had the Patient Booking team ring, I donāt get enough signal to answer my mobile, they donāt leave a message and if you try and ring the number, itās a recorded message saying they will try again! Wonder if they are trying to cancel one of this weekendās apps.
Glad that grief counselling was lovely and you were able to pass things onto your mum MT, and that other things are going well. Good luck with the renovation work Kelly.

Kelly - I'll be keeping an eye on your renovation updates as we're planning to do loads of work this year, including a kitchen-diner extension! Any pitfalls, do let me know. Forewarned is definitely forearmed.
Oh Ben, I am sure there will be plenty of pitfalls to share! The current one is if you're going to replace the old boiler with a new boiler (to be boxed in a cupboard), and leave it in what will become the new kitchen it would be a good idea to make sure said new boiler doesn't make a loud, irritating noise when it fires up. Now we're waiting for the plumber to come back and see if we can move the boiler into another area away from the kitchen. Oh well, it's a learning curve.Hope you're feeling a bit better, Desley.
Morning! Had a little walkies and now I'm in the editing chair! Hoping for a day out tomorrow with the local natural history society - seaside observations.Hope everyone's well and keeping warm. What a time to have your boiler play up. It's reminds me of the way chickens moult just as the winter is setting in.
Will post properly later, but a 7 day course of a different antibiotic and going for a chest x-ray after work - unfortunately the drop in service isn't available on Sun, when I will be in the same department for my MRI!
Well, that was an interesting day, got to the doc at 8.10 again but the car park was full, and there were 5 people waiting for each doctor, so I went with the one I saw last week, figuring he was that quick last week it shouldn't be a long wait. Well, he either had really complicated patients (well, one definitely was), or was slower than last week, and the other doc was slower than I've seen him, so I didn't get in till 9.45 (surgery started at 8.30 and he started at 8.20), he already had the x-ray card ready to fill out before I sat down, and filled it out before listening to my chest, gave me the standard second line antibiotics and sent me off! Had to do the x-ray and picking up the prescription after work as I was already an hour late by this time. Nipped to the co-op, more new food and offers, and it was so hard to make myself just get what I needed, I realise why restricting myself didn't work last year, I find it too boring!

Morning, I've been a bit lazy this week, so quite a bit of housework to do, and then going for my nerve conduction test this afternoon, haven't been to this hospital before (well, got driven there once 15 years ago when my neighbour worked there!), so hoping I don't get lost, my neighbour can't come with me as she has her granddaughter.
Good luck, Desley.Brrrrrrr it's chilly. Jersey can be quite mild sometimes, so when we get a cold spell, boy, do you feel it!

Off to a meeting with my fellow Blonde Plotters for an afternoon meet-up. Then got the food shop to do, home, put food away and get back to laptop.
Has anyone watched Picard on Amazon Prime?
Yes I watched it last night. Enjoyed it, and will continue next week. All set on planet so far, barring flashbacks :)Cold wind here and has barely reached daylight. The downstairs flat has gone on the market (our lovely 96 year old neighbour died last summer, and it has taken the lawyers this long to sort out probate) but there hasn't been a viewer yet. So very much hoping we get nice neighbours :(
Well, the journey to the hospital was fine, much easier than I expected. Got there and asked if he was running on time, she said about 10 mins behind, which was fine. Really lovely doctor, shook my hand etc. Test was rather unpleasant though, finding nerves and sending shocks down them. Then he checked the muscles too, he said the nerve test didn't show anything, but the muscle test did suggest some damage, possibly from my sciatica. So will be interesting to see what the MRI shows, as the x-ray did indicate something on that side. However I did get a letter today saying my app to see the rheumatologist in June has been cancelled, but they will re-arrange. Did keep getting random pains on the drive home though. Sounds a nice day Kelly. Hope you do get nice neighbours R.

It can't have helped with the driving, either.

Last of the tests today, can't say I'm looking forward to a spinal MRI after my knee one was so painful. I did keep getting random pains last night from the nerves he stimulated, and was woken up at 6 by tingling in my foot, which I haven't had for a while. Getting a few bits from Aldi on the way home, bit of housework and then if I feel up to it, going for a meal with neighbours family, before dropping the car off, it's having a service tomorrow. Luckily Alicia, they only tested my left leg and I drive an automatic, so don't need that leg for driving.
Morning! Grey here but the light levels are improving. Sadly, rain is forecast. Can't win 'em all.

Were they twisting your knee position to get a better image somehow? I hope the spinal one doesn't hurt you.

I really enjoyed it, Rosemary. I thought we could binge-watch and got a wee bit disappointed when I realised I'd have to wait a whole week!
Glad that is over, I parked in my usual spot at the back of the hospital (there is some street parking that is free, as I didn't know how long the MRI was), unfortunately the back entrance was closed, so I had to walk down to the front one, but it had started raining heavily as I got in the car, so was rather wet when I arrived! Ironically I had to take less clothes off for my MRI than the x-ray. He had to put a cushion under my knees to put my spine in the right place, was uncomfortable before I even got in the machine, but more bearable than the knee. However, when they pulled me out, I was that stiff (it lasted 50 mins), I couldn't sit up! In the end I had to use my elbows for leverage, and then hobbled out of the room. They were more patient than the last people though. I got a horrible taste in my mouth half way through, they said that wasn't related to the test, so can only assume that was the antibiotics, I only started them today, just in case they did give me an upset tummy. Nipped in B & M and Aldi on the way back, then my neighbour said she'd had to book the table early as the place was fully booked, so I didn't have chance to do all the housework, but saves me getting bored tomorrow. We had a lovely meal, although the desserts weren't as nice as last time we went. That's why I like to tape and watch once finished Kelly, somethings are better binge watched.
Evening everyone. This year seems to be whizzing by already! Jess has just headbutted her way in to say hi as well. Finished the last of my training tonight and have my first shift without my training wheels tomorrow!
I'm loving the fact that I have time now to read and catch up on the books I've been waiting to read :)

I'm waiting to hear about whether or not I'll need a scan on my knee now, so reading your story with interest Desley. I've had pain for a few weeks, then on friday it "popped" a couple of times as I walked into town, before swelling up. Looking into it being a possible meniscus tear. Lovely. Hope you get the results your looking for from the scans though, and that it's not too painful.
Morning, Lucy woke me at 8 for breakfast, but then I got another couple of hours sleep, until my foot started hurting. Still got that awful taste in my mouth. Housework this morning, then no plans until I pick the car up, but it is a nice day so might have a wander. Neighbour is getting some coal this afternoon and needs to do two trips (my car unfortunately isn't big enough to help), so no doubt I'll be asked to help get the coal out of the car. most housework can wait to be fair Alicia. Good luck getting your knee sorted Ben, unfortunately my knee MRI was normal, even though my knee is getting worse, knelt in the co-op on Fri to check the reduced items and was agony standing back up. Hoping something shows on my spine MRI that will help it.
Morning all, I can see snow on the hills across the water but none here, as usual. Seriously cold though!
Morning all, very bracing here. We all had to be up early to get McMini to school for a trip at 7.30 am. Eeesh. I'm recovering slowly now. Still it's sunny and it looks like it will hold long enough for me to get the towels out for a blow about.
Cold here too, but sunny and bright which is always a blessing.
Had a random night sleep, Lucy woke me at 5.30 and then again at 6.20! Didnāt have a good start to the day, about 300 yards from my house, someone hit my car! She had been pulling out of some off road parking that I didnāt even know existed, saw my car, put the brakes on, but skidded, so at least it was low impact, although it didnāt sound like that! It looks like both car doors have got slight dents and scratches, but fortunately I have to go to the garage after work to pay them, so will get them to check there isnāt some hidden damage, and if they can get me a quote, although a colleague suggested a body shop would be better. Just popped out to look at it, there are more scratches than I noticed this morning. Weāve had snow here, but disappearing now, which Iām glad about. Anniversary of my nan and granddadās death, ironically it is the first time in years Iāve worked on the day! Going out for a meal to the pub they always took me to tonight.

Morning! Sunny and cold again. They forecast a warm-up by weekend. Hope so. Off to edit again.
Went to the garage last night, and they had closed early, so have gone at lunch, they donāt do body repair, so have spoken to one of those on the way back. I popped into the womanās house on the way back, she said she had raced home as she didnāt want me to turn up and find an empty house and panic! Her OH thinks it would need a body repair rather than a garage, my neighbour has rang the person who does hers, Iām going to ring him on the way back from the garage to see when he can give a price. Meal was nice, they are now doing 2 meals for Ā£9.95, am sure when my grandparents first started taking me it was 2 for Ā£4.50! Thanks Alicia
