Still playing with paint but I'm off at lunchtime with our flower arranging gang for a Christmas meal. Can't remember what I ordered but fortunately someone has a list! We ordered it six weeks ago.

Still, it makes a change from being dragged round the shops!

Glad you made it OK Patti, you could have brought some nice weather with you! Nice to see you Claire, bet you are glad to be home. Sorry it’s not a positive update on your daughter Lynne, or the rest of the family. Good job you are OK to sort everything out. I think you are right, they released her too early. Sorry you've also been experiencing A & E Departments Will.

best wishes to the Granddaughter, my daughter had her gall bladder out quite young as well

I missed that one, but then he obviously never turned up here :-)
Actually we have a lot of kite surfers along our stretch of coast, one extra would probably not be noticed ;-)

Been to tesco twice in two days. It's so nice to find actual food in a supermarket. You'd know what I mean if you've ever shopped in what passes for a supermarket in Mandalay.
There must be at least 100 000 calories residing in my kitchen at the moment.
Dawned on me on the flight that this will be our first Christmas as a married couple, so we should mark the occasion with a tree. Went to a poundstretchers type shop and bought an 8 incher for £1.99.
So festive. :)

You must all be so stressed.
Having the flu shot doesn't keep you 100% from getting the flu, but, if you do get it, it is supposed to be milder.

Happy first married Christmas Patti & Dave.
I’m a bit calmer now, big gin and tonic and making mince pies.

I had my gall bladder out as an emergency too, when I was a lot younger. Hadn't even known I possessed such an organ, prior to that :)
Haven't missed it either!

It took a while for my system to adjust to not having one, it's perhaps three or so years before I was entirely comfortable with fat

I've hit that point where that is all I say about almost everything - I'll do something about it in the new year!!!

when you've just had your gall bladder out, fat can act as a laxative!

Had my gall bladder out. Never noticed a difference regarding eating fat but I did lose the discomfort in my middle.

My new neighbours’ furniture van arrived Tonight. I do hope it’s calm tomorrow or they wont get the doors open. My old neighbours lost their car hatchback door once. It went up and over completely flat on the top of the car and fell off.

Hopefully my sleep patterns will sort out soon. Can't seem to stay asleep for more than a couple hours.
Dave is off to the dentist then to see his father today. I don't intend to leave the flat unless the sun shines. Not much chance of that happening.
So pleased to see a headline that the Orange Monstrosity has been impeached. Bodes well for 2020 being a good year.

Good to know you're home, and we're all happy about DT.

Wind has dropped, and rain slid off to bother someone else for a change. Good.

So festive Patti! Did it come decorated? Hope you get the right kind of weather to leave the flat Patti, and good luck sorting your sleep pattern out. Hope you get the internet sorted Kelly, irony is that I love going to Waitrose when I come to Jersey, we don’t have any round here. Glad granddaughter is home Will

Glad you're back in the UK Patti, and glad your granddaughter's home Will.

Keep meaning to go to that and keep failing to get tickets before they're sold out.
Cheers

If it is AS, you'll want to see them much sooner than 6 months - I'm sure they know that. Good luck on the toe!

Desley, hope all goes well.
Have a good one everybody. I have a few more presents to get but I'm pretty much there!
Phew! Another two weeks and it will all be over!
Cheers

I find it over by 27th too Jim! Hope you enjoy all the hosting Kath!

I can’t overdo it with Billy the dog, he’s a real sneak thief. Once he sees something that takes his eye he’ll come back and steal it when he can so little items, anything that looks edible like berries on swags and garlands and my old glass decorations are all staying in the loft.

I'm so enjoying doing nothing but reading for pleasure and watching brain candy tv. I so needed this.

Every so often you do.
I know when I've been seriously over-stressed, I start re-reading the Asterix books :-)

Ooo sounds interesting. There seems to be a bit of an explosion of humour at the moment. Glad you’re enjoying a bit of R&R. Nice to see you back on here again.
Cheers

On years when we do Christmas with the in-laws ours is usually over by 28th. On years when it’s Christmas at my Mums we are heading up to the in laws to do the whole thing all over again on 28th, but they live too far away to visit for a weekend so there’s not much flexibility with visiting them. It’s five hours, whereas it’s only two and a half or three to my Mum’s so we can put New Year at hers off and do it on a weekend.
I absolutely love the Asterix books and that sounds like an excellent antidote to stress ... along with Viz annuals.

I ended up with a free evening last night! Kathleen got a last minute invite to the Pantomine due to my Uncle taking sick and then Nathan insisted on going with my mum to their house to see his Papa and he refused to leave so he slept over, Gareth was out for work drinks. I dream of this happening but instead of taking a long bath with a good book I tidied and cleaned then did the Christmas wrapping. I'm feeling exhausted but with the knowledge that I've been productive.
Now I'm craving macaroni cheese so that'll be lunch.
Might clear out my wardrobe today.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the festive atmosphere or successfully avoiding it, either way I hope everyone is happy :o)

Glad you are able to relax Patti. Typical that you get a free evening and decided to do housework rather than having some me time Jud! Glad you are getting organised Lynne, do hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel now,

Out on the razz this evening which should be fun.
Cheers

Oh how I wish I could do Christmas like that! :-) It’s been bloody Christmas here since about November!
On the up side, my festive, sort of seasonal story should be out on 8th Feb.

Watching The Four Feathers at the moment, the original one (and fiddling about on the internet).
Sounds like everyone's got loads going on.

Hope you had a good evening MT.

Calling out to all technical gurus:- My laptop broke and I got another surface pro, this one running windows 10. I can't wok out how to backup to an external hard drive. It's plugged in but the backup area says no suitable device available Frightening place to be!

If anyone's bored, I've written a blog, it's half happy and half rather sad.
Blog time ... https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2019/12/22/mi...

Wishing you peace and happiness for the festive season. xxx

That is a short to do list Kelly, I knew I couldn't do everything I needed to. Glad you had a good time MT, you deserve it.

The story had a happy ending. The lad spent the night on the marshes but is unharmed.
