Morning. Tonking down here but it's mild. As I don't want to be even mildly wet, I see a day at home, with bookish things.

Had a great time at the book festival, we did a bit of food shopping then went to one of my sister-in-laws friends houses for food and drink, really enjoyed it. Travelling home today, going for lunch on the way to the airport, supposed to be very windy this afternoon so might be an interesting journey. Nothing worse than bad weather for Rushbearing Jim.
Rushbearing is not something I'd heard of before. Not done around here! I don't suppose you'd really want a load of wet leaves in your nice dry church :) Not wet here but pretty dreary. Daughter 2 has managed to find a flat so that will be a carful of

we have three daughters, two with their own houses, and the third with a flat and they still store stuff here! :-)
Well dressing is another tradition worth seeing. I used to go when we lived in the Peak District. I was looking for something in the attic and found two bags of baby clothes recently. I can’t even remember how or when daughter managed to get them there. Must have been between her house moves.
It’s so warm here the cigales were seesawing all night. Husband is reading the weather warning for home - I guess he’ll start worrying about his roof. 🙄
The stollen bites are in Aldi. Not even October yet :((I managed to avoid buying any, they are so tasty!!)
I’m in the doghouse - the baker has a well deserved day off on Mondays so I doubled up his lordship’s croissants yesterday. Popped them in my oven (furnace) and got slightly distracted. Long story short two tarry black croissants. Oh such a drama, well it’s done a good thing as he’s said he’ll take the neighbours out to lunch - I think I’m supposed to feel bad about it but it’s a win win for me. I hate that fekkin oven, it was my MIL’s and I swear it laughs when it burns food.
Well, yesterday was another interesting day - lots of tears, nice meal at a beach hut, we aimed to go and stand on the beach after, but it was that windy it was hard to stand and then got a bit painful as the sand got blown in our faces, think only my nephew made it! Got to the airport fine, had been there about 20 mins when the screen changed to say my flight was delayed by 45 mins. Landed, asked for new train times, only had a 5 min wait for the first train and then 5 mins between the two. Got to Victoria to find the train I should be getting had been cancelled due to flooding, so had a 40 min wait for the next one, which was then late due to a problem they were resolving - ended up being over half an hour late! Eventually got home at 8.10 - we'd left my bro's at 12! Luckily neighbour had made me some food and fed the cats. At least I got to finish my book. So glad to be a nice peaceful home, Lucy was 'hiya, need to go out', Coco hissed and Chanel looked dubious at me. Got boring stuff today, washing, food shopping, dentist and doing some online ordering.
Morning!Is it home time yet?
Kathleen is away to school with her lunch bag for the first time, she was delighted and got ready in record time.
Well, food shopping was interesting, nearly came back with 3 kinds of mince pies and some stollen, but I have a rule not to buy before my birthday!

Not when they are in the shops in September!!! What happened to waiting till after Halloween? I've just gone to type it on another forum and I spelt it correctly, the laptop changed it! Glad it isn't me going crazy

they seem to be keeping you busy anyway :-)
Morning :o)I have money in one bank but I can't get it to transfer to the account so I can actually use it. It's doing my head in. I've not had money since the end of July! Will have to ring the bank today and figure out what's going on.

Google haven't marked it with a doodle, therefore I don't believe it.
I might get a coffee anyway, just to be safe
Morning. Weather's vile here today. We were so lucky with our holiday a couple of weeks ago. Hot sun, blue skies and look at it now. A damned disgrace, that's what it is!
First day back at work, woke up before my alarm, so had cuddles with Lucy before getting up early. Traffic was bad though and it’s been wet and windy. Only 140 e-mails to wade through. Eyes seem more swollen now I’m home, which is frustrating. Knee isn’t much better, but I’m going to try an extra week of extra meds as last week wasn’t a normal week. Need to try and fix hinge on bedroom door at weekend. Lucy is still quite clingy (and jumpy!), the girls still seem indifferent to me being back, the only obvious sign they haven’t been happy is they haven’t eaten well, but that hasn’t improved yet either.Good luck getting your money sorted Jud, that’s a long time to wait! Has anyone seen Alicia on Facebook or anything, she’s been quiet for a while, hope everything is OK. Nice to see you Patti!

That kind of trivial little thing ruins days. Hope you got it straightened out.
Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "Has anyone seen Alicia on Facebook or anything, she’s been quiet for a while, hope everything is OK...."Sorry. Have been sorting out things, riding my new toy around the retirement community halls, doing a few things outside (darn that sunny California weather), and have been reading posts but didn't have much to say. Everything's fine or better, but the writing brain has been having trouble clicking on.
Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) wrote: "Alicia was on the Word Count thread yesterday, Desley"Thanks, Rosemary.
With the tiny word counts. It's supposed to be temporary while adjusting to the new meds, but I hate not having a working brain.
My shoes got filled with sand yesterday and now I've got a blister on my toe.Barefoot teaching today.

teaching in beachwear from now on?
Wee touch of groundfrost this morning.Pretty rare for me to come home without sand in my shoes :) in fact if it's windy I've usually got it in my ears too
YES!! I HAVE MONEY!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
What should I buy?
Whoa, just discovered that I can switch the writing from left to right to right to left, that was accidental
If anyone heard of an earthquake in France - it was me. I went base over apex full plant this morning. Did the sensible thing and put my walking boots on and caught one shoelace loop in the other boot cleat at a good pace. The dog really ‘helped’. I think he thought I was down there to play stupid games. Very sore wrist, grazes and bruises but nothing broken. That will teach me to tuck my laces in. Might need a small medicinal cognac after lunch. I don’t do pain.
Oh, Lynne, take care!Baking this afternoon. Village Macmillan coffee morning combined with our usual cake club. Made fruit loaves yesterday. Today, biscuits and jam tarts, I think.

Woke up ridiculously early and had no Lucy to cuddle! Had to demist the car and as it was only 2 degrees, I did put my winter coat, scarf and gloves on! Clear blue sky though. Still got 79 e-mails! Managed to get out of our meeting today. Food shopping after work. Thanks R. Good to hear from you Alicia, sorry the meds are still affecting you, but glad you are enjoying activities. Glad you haven’t broken anything Lynne.

Enjoy - you have the right attitude. If you don't celebrate, then all you'll remember is the negative waiting time and stress.
Go for it!
Beautiful day here from east Anglia to Sussex. Lynn hope you feel better soon. I’ve done that but on a soft sandy field so it wasn’t too bad.I’ve had an actor contact me who wants to record my books as audio. The rough draft he sent me is a cracker. Hardly daring to hope it’ll work out, 😊

wow :-)
That’s great news Mary. Hope the audio books deal works well for you. Beautiful morning here too.
I’m very stiff this morning and I have some big bruises on my knee and hip - fortunately all under my clothes. It was a gravelly hill path so my elbow is a bit scabby as well. I’m just happy I didn’t smash my phone in my bag. I’d better get moving though , man & dog are out walking and I’m supposed to go to get the bread and croissants while they are out. I’m not dressed yet. Just lolling about with a coffee as you do when on holiday.
Go Mary!I had a horrible shock this morning when I heard the news announcer on the radio say "Scotland is to ban snacking".
The relief felt on discovering she'd said smacking entirely justified the celebratory biscuit :)

LOL
Morning! Off to the combined Cake Club and Macmillan Coffee Morning. I may well be asleep this afternoon.
Ha! Could you imagine, Rosie. We'd have to smuggle biscuits and crisps over to you.Morning :o)
That sounds amazing Mary! I can't wait to hear your books on audio, how exciting!!
Enjoy your cake Kath (goes without saying, I'm sure)
Another bad night sleep, looking forward to weekend! 2 degrees again. Still not got less than 80 e-mails, am hoping maybe next week I’ll get straight! Did feel a bit more ‘in the zone’ this morning though. Traffic has been bad, have been late two days out of 3! Am trying something new eye drops wise, I’m just using my anti-histamine and dry eye drops to see if that is any better, face is a bit tingly though. Got a few bits to do tonight ready for the cleaner tomorrow, including unpacking the new steam mop for her to use! Friend popping round to pick up some cheese I bought her last night. That’s great news MT! Glad you have money Jud, my suggestion for how to spend would always be books! I’ve been very naughty with those this month. Sorry you have been a bit stiff Lynne, glad you didn’t break your phone though. Sounds a fab morning to me Kath
