That is an achievement
Yes Jud, the car passed its Mot. Phew!, No big bills only for servicing. The best seal sight I had was when we had our first spaniel. She was paddling along the water’s edge and a seal popped up a few yards away. Spaniel seemed totally unaware of the seal but carried on her walk. The seal kept pace with her parallel turning with the dog when she went back, the seal came the length of the beach with us. It was magical. Spaniels’ little faces look a bit seal like when they are wet. Perhaps the seal just liked the look of her.

Yes, but I was very restrained in 2018 and only bought 7 books!!!! That is insane. I'm working on 2017 (2 left), 2016 (4 left) and 2014 (2 left) next. I have hundreds from 2012 and 2011 still to go and 60 from this year. Must stop buying books.
Cold again today, although apparently its 16. Both eyes still swollen, think I might have to go back and see if there are any different drops. Was woken up at 3 by Lucy, not sure what she did, but she was so clingy last night, every time I woke up she was touching me. Glad the car passed Lynne. Well done on catching up on books Jud, I also need to stop buying.

My old jeep is 26 Will, Passed its MOT too. Little grandson did have a moment going in but he saw one of his nursery teachers who gave him a huge hug so he went off smiling. I’ll hear tomorrow how he liked it. Husband forgot the dog had a vet’s appointment this afternoon and had a beer with his lunch so he wouldn’t drive there. They got soaked to the skin. Its quite a long walk in the rain.
Lynne (Tigger's Mum) wrote: "My old jeep is 26 Will, Passed its MOT too..."26 years!! Wow.
There's just been a cheer and a round of applause in the office, weird. Maybe it's for your Jeep!
Yowzers! Back from the Bristol area after a long weekend with Jenny, SIL and the grandgirls. Second one starting senior school tomorrow. She's so dainty (only 11 at the end of July) that they had to send to the manufacturer for a cardi small enough. Aw, bless.

Over here she'd have been one of the oldest in her year, she'd be starting senior school next year instead of this year.
Dropped Kitty off to school today, she was a little sheepish waiting out in the playground but once it started to rain some teachers came and took the waiting P1's inside. I hope she has fun, it's the first day with the full class.

Bet it helps keep the clutter down though.
Good luck with the move Patti-cakes
Rang Specsavers on the way home, the optician I’ve seen the last two times only works on Fri (odd, as I’m sure I saw him on a Tue the first time!), so I’ve got an app with him after work on Fri, see what he comes up with. Nipped to the co-op after work for neighbour, but aggravated my sciatica, which has made my knee worse, so there is clearly a link between my back and knee. Very odd weather, keeps alternating between blue skies and rain! Got my ultrasound this afternoon, do hope that they are running on time, so we can do the food shopping. Good luck with moving Patti.
I sometimes wonder what the world is coming too https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...Surely the "dangerous", "disgraceful" and "insensitive" thing would be to smoosh a dairylea slice in the face of a lactose intolerant friend?
Hello all! Just coming up for air after sending off notes for the beta reads I did in the last week or so. I've now got three more! Good job I enjoy it.Baking peanut butter cookies now for tomorrow's cake club. Oh, and bread for us.
Hello all, just coming to join in the chat. Mostly sunny and windy here recently. Quite a lot of leaves already lying on the ground under the trees in the park.Having an unexpectedly social week. Some friends arranged a lunch get together at the last minute on Saturday, my brother came yesterday to do some odd jobs for me and we went to the pub, and tomorrow I'm going to meet some friends in London.

That I can well believe.
All the best with the move Patti
Morning!Sent of paper work for my business account and they lost half of it on the day they received it. Typical. This is doing my head in.
G'Day! Just back from the village cake club. Someone made a blackberry cake. It was very nice indeed. Now to do something useful - ish.
Well, yesterday was a nightmare, hit loads of school traffic, car parking was horrendous (ended up at car park 5, which is the furthest away from the building, and as I don’t know the hospital, decided to walk round the outside of it, despite the heavy wind and rain, so was soaking when I got there), luckily some nice lady was leaving and gave me her ticket so I didn’t pay. Got there 2 mins before my app, was happy to see no-one waiting and no one in the room, but then a lady was brought down from one of the wards and took in, her scan took half an hour! She told me she’d been asked to scan for inflammation and couldn’t see any, so seems another pointless test. And to make it worse, I wondered while I was sat there why my eye was bothering me so much, I’d forgotten to take my afternoon drops before leaving work and therefore not put them in my bag, so had to divert to the retail park on the way to food shopping to go to Boots, who can sell a small bottle of the allergy drops, so had to get one of those. Weather much better today though, although was only 8 when I left my house, despite blue skies and sun, builder is coming after work, hopefully I can wait till new year to get a new bathroom.
Youngest daughter rang me to update me on her new job. (She got head hunted from the old one after 6 weeks...)Her new boss, who used to live close to where we go seal watching, took one look at her and remarked: 'I've got jumpers older than you'.
The roofers overhead have moved on to another part of the huge building, and the constant hammering we've had for over a month has stopped. Yes, you read that correctly: hammering of some kind every day for a month.I don't know how to write this way any more! Not that I got that much written with the hammering.
They're not done, but the place is so vast, and they did everything we could possibly hear first, except for a small section which will give them a few more days.
We actually had a roofer drop a roofing nail in the center of the table we were having lunch at on the patio (accident - and I don't think it had enough terminal velocity or weight to kill). Then they closed that section. It's now been reopened.
Progress! Then it may not need to be done again in our lifetime.
Weird feeling.
My sympathies, Alicia. I had roofers working on my house for a few days earlier this year. I spent most of the time in coffee shops or the local library to get away from the noise. Don't know how I'd have coped for a month!

If he's male, then it will inevitably be true :-)

A succession of neighbours of ours have had builders - demolishing, constructing etc - for the last eight years. Not quite continuously, but almost. Just as one lot finishes their "Grand Design" the next ones start. By the time the last one is done no doubt the first will decide it's time for an upgrade. Sadly the flat downstairs from us will go on the market shortly so I expect that will be the next one >:(Another horribly windy day. That's noisy too!
Morning! Damson picking day. They are ripe and the wind is bringing them down so we're dashing out (after a cuppa) to get them in before it rains.
Now Jim, don't leave females out, I have a tshirt that is now 22 years old, that's 2 thirds of my life.Wow. That's actually a bit depressing.
Don't know what age my oldest jumper is though.
Morning!
No Jim, the Boss Lady is a lady. Which is why daughter didn't take offence. And Jud's tshirt is only 1 year out being my daughter's age!
Good lord, I thought I was the only person with clothes over forty years old :-)I see on the forum we seem to have some pretty spectacular spam that uses a weird script
Yes I’ve seen it Jim but I can’t find the delete button - I’m out and about atm and just on my phone. Will be Dealt With when I get home...
Builder eventually made it, he is sure that the cracks in the bath are just cosmetic and it can wait till he is free after Christmas, although it is more involved than I thought, the ceiling tiles also need replacing. Aggravated my sciatica putting the bin out. Bit worried about Lucy, she was quiet yesterday morning, her tum was a bit upset around teatime, then she woke me up at 1 being sick, hopefully it is just a reaction to eating my leftover tea on Wed night rather than the reduction in her meds, but might just ring the vet in case I want to do bloods. Back didn’t appreciate me jumping out of bed at 1am (mind you, neither did Lucy, she kept growling at me!), luckily the bed needed stripping this weekend, just not what I wanted to do first thing in the morning! Or making it tonight. Hoping the day will get better, struggled to get up after my disturbed night sleep, set the smoke alarm off again, hit a load of traffic so had to do a different journey to work, picked up the wrong drops when I got here, and discovered the cleaner had taken my cups and cat spoon off my desk, could only find one of the cups and not the spoon. We had very heavy rain this morning, but now blue skies. Got time to kill before the opticians this afternoon, going to B & M, probably go to Aldi on the way home. Sorry the roofing work is still ongoing Alicia.

Lovely evening here. I’m all packed just got the usual tidying etc tomorrow then we’re off. The builders are going to do our roof and chimney while we are away as they don’t need us to be here. If there’s an election while we are away we’ve got a postal vote so daughter will send them on.
Had an interesting trip to the optician, he can see where my iritis was, but is 95% certain my eyes are calm and my issues are allergies - ordinarily if people don't respond to the first drops they get referred to the hospital, however as I'm going in a fortnight, he's given me anti-histamine drops as well - so that is 3 lots of drops to use a day, 2 are 4 times, 1 is 2 times! Also gave me tips like put them in the fridge to get an extra cooling effect and bathing my eyes. Did take 3 chemists to get the drops mind. However the one near Specsavers will take a vet prescription and have Lucy's meds in stock, vet is writing me a prescription to pick up in the morning and will then go back to get it filled, so relieved, and handy I was in the area. Nipped to shop after work, chest was quite bad, so think I'm going to have to start taking both inhalers every day, and considering going to the docs to see if I do need a course of steroids. Weather has improved and neighbour has given me some tea. bet you are glad you will miss the noisy work Lynne!
Don't know what age my oldest jumper is though.I have two that are older than 26 years. That's how long I've lived in this house, and I had them before I moved here. M&S made things to last back then. They're currently on the pile I'm gathering for the charity shop/recycling bin. Whether they'll stay there once the weather starts getting colder, and I want something warmer to wear around the house....
Morning! I have a couple of hand-knitted jumpers that go back around 40 years. There's still loads of wear in them. When you don't care about fashion (and set your own) you can wear them till they or you drop dead!I'm boiling up damsons for damson jelly as we speak.
Urgh, was disturbed by Lucy at 5 am and haven't properly gotten back to sleep since, will probably get tired when I'm doing errands! At least the sun is shining so I've been able to peg the bedding out. Need to nip to the vets, then a chemist and get a few bits on the way home, including testing Costa's new Autumn range. New eye drops seem to be working, have only used them twice but eye feels much more like a normal eye.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Quite grey and autumnal feeling here so far, though it does look as if it might brighten up later. I don't need to go out, and have quite a long list of jobs to do around the house.
Re old jumpers - I have one that was second hand when I acquired it 44 years ago. I wore it yesterday. There are no labels in it so I cannot be certain what it is made of. Answers on a postcard please...The trouble is, how can I possibly throw something away that is still in very good condition? And being long sleeved, plain, and round necked, it doesn't go out of fashion. Again, answers on a postcard (anyone else remember that dear old phrase?).
I threw out an old cardigan last year and have regretted it. It was too shabby to wear in public, but was just right for reading in bed. I missed it last winter. Have crossed a few things off my 'To Do' list, so feel a small sense of achievement!
Well, that was a day! The chemist I went to yesterday decided today that they didn't have the right dosage of medication, luckily Boots did, however they were very busy, so we ended up with a 40 min wait for them to dispense it. She was a tad concerned we wouldn't get through it all before the expiry date, which I thought was nice. Vet prescription charge higher than expected, chemist charge less, but overall less than I remember paying last year, so might get it myself in future! Didn't quite get everything we needed from shopping, and was gutted Costa only had one muffin (we did try 2 branches!), so had to share. Did get tea from neighbour, although don't fancy soup for tea, so that will be lunch on Mon, I'm having pizza for tea.
Well the little lad started school this week, he’s done 4 days and poor little fella has tonsillitis already. I’m sure somebody at school is a strep carrier. I can’t do much to help as I’m going away tomorrow. We’re all packed and about ready to go.

Hope Lucy is okay and you find the cat spoon. It is so irritating when people move your things.
