It’s drizzled here tonight but we never reached those really high temperatures I think it was 23° max but we had a 30 knots wind gusting so it felt quite pleasant. Apart from the bloody bits of grass. I got half a bin load up from behind my door.

Morning all. Our beaches looked like the 1950s (or the Costa del Sol) yesterday. The cars were queuing to get into town in the morning, never seen it so busy.

More rain please.

Good luck getting rid of the grass Lynne, suspect you’ll be finding it for months! I’m not surprised France have banned grass cutting, can’t imagine

Luckily it doesn't have our card details

my advice is that it stays that was as well! :-)
The internet of things is not going to end well and I cannot see why anybody would want to join it

Cooler here this morning, thank goodness, although it's raining a bit. It's the big lifeboat fundraiser fete today so I hope it dries up for them

That is a bit scary R!

I hope we don't reach the stage where all of us are thinking like this every day...

Ours is next weekend :-)
Which is lucky because we've got constant drizzle at the moment which would put visitors off

This is what I have been trying to get back to my whole life! THIS is normal - for me.
Like many things, our preferences for weather are built in childhood; it wasn't until I left Mexico City (similar weather) to finish college in Seattle (now there's a change!) that I realized how much my state of happiness depends on what's outside the windows, and mine is sun and mild climate. Cold, snow, and humidity ennervate me - I keep waiting for them to end!
Where did you grow up - and how does that influence what feels 'right' now?

None of your drizzle, it's not something you measure in millimetres, this is proper rain, measured in inches :-)
To be fair, and because it's summer, the rain is getting into the spirit of things and is falling vertically, rather than coming in horizontally

Last time I was here in my brother’s caravan it rained
At least I have my kindle so I can read something and look out at the rain ☔️

Am afraid I live 3 miles from where I was born Alicia, so I don't know much different. Glad you are happy where you are though. Glad you have plenty to read Janet!

Done my quota of reviewing for the day and I've got a roast dinner to sort out for tonight. In between, I shall read. That surprised you, didn't it?

Jersey is tucked into the Bay of St Malo, and is much closer to France than England. Jersey can get pretty hot in summer and the Autumn weather can be nice, and is similar to UK weather on the whole, but the winters never get the way did in Scotland.
We only get snow that's worth talking about once every decade! Bah! I miss the cold sometimes. The real, bitter cold that bites into your bones and freezes your breath in an even-colder house (no central heating in those days). But I am accustomed to the milder weather now, so I wouldn't last long!

It's more my speed.
I grew up in Mexico City; there a few places nearby got a sprinkling (an inch?) of snow about every ten years. It's a big deal. Slippery on roads more used to bald tires.

Can’t believe you miss the cold Kelly!

Mostly it seemed to rain, except for the day we drove home and it was appallingly hot on the motorway...
Now it's raining again.

Another day's slog to get through. Hope yours is a better day.

It's almost embarrassing.
The rain comes in the winter.
The flowers have been gorgeous and of incredible varieties. The Bird of Paradise bush has finally stopped brimming with the flowers.
Now, if I only had a brain. Not being able to write is getting tiresome.

May the day treat you as you deserve to be treated.

that badly!

I often wonder just how much money is raised through cake stalls. Given the sheer number of official and quasi official bodies who want us to stop eating things we enjoy, it's probably a scandal :-)

What a day! I'm glad they were thorough, but you must feel like a pincushion after a hard day of sewing!
Hope it results in you feeling better. The eye thing is worrying.
