good start to the day for my daughter. She stood outside and the colleague who was supposed to be taking her into work drove past and forgot her. she's taken her car now. Little grandson coughing and sneezing and her kittens have climbed the Christmas tree already. good.job it's tied to the bookcase.
Sorry to hear about your sister Flo.Rained yesterday and then froze last night. Roads are therefore going to be tricky again. Be careful out there folksies.
Morning all, started snowing last night but has since turned to rain and seems too warm for it to ice. Woke up at 1.30 with a headache, dropped off sometime after 3 and still woke up before the alarm. Hoping for an easy day at work, taking some of my bon bons in - they dont look like they are sopposed to, lets see what they think of the taste. Neighbour away again so catsitting.Sounds like you are in for a fun day Lynne.
Well, I survived the year at school. My holiday has begun. Dave still has a half day to get through tomorrow. So looking forward to getting away on Saturday.

I'm jealous, got another week to go! Our heating stopped working again today! Car park was like an ice rink, they waited till we'd all got there before gritting it! All bar 1 person liked my bon bons, so will take the rest on sat, see if i can make them look a bit better.
Good morning. Another false start. I was early to daughters despite the torrential rain. She'd just left as her lift turned up too early but my son in law stayed to wait for me. Anyway all Ok and coffee brewing. Those kittens of hers are devils in fur coats. They think her Christmas tree is a commando course.
Morning all, got woken up at 5.45 by the foster kitten playing. Very sparkly outside, think I'll wear my walking boots to work. Hopefully easy morning, I'm taking mince pies for our last Fri meeting of the year. Then a home visit and food shopping after work. Need to make an app for an eye test, vision gets blurry when tired but wearing sunglasses help. Have fun tree sitting Lynne!
Our car park was really dangerous this morning – I anticipated it this morning and came in my walking boots, but still struggled. We also have no heating again – apparently the manufacturer is coming out now!!
I hope you've brought yourself a space heater in, Desley. Sheesh.Bags are packed, laundry is done, flat is tidy-ish, ready for an Alla deep clean.
Now gonna make pizza, pop a bottle of wine and settle in front of a film.
I’ve had pizza and half a bottle of cava. Fell asleep aafter lunch. Really disgraceful of me but enjoyed every minute, I did save the tree at daughters. I shut the furry devils in the dining room.
Flo, I am so very sorry to hear your sad news. It is never easy and my heart goes out to you and the rest of the family. x
Evening all.Just popped in to say hello and to have a break from reading a series that I'd avoided and have found unexpectedly good. (Sarah Maas' Throne of Glass etc)
Happy belated birthday to the BBITW, Geoff. You'll be off inspecting unis next I should imagine...or have you already done that?
Also, if anyone's interested, Sainsbugs have Remy Martin down from £32 to £25 at the mo'.
Evening all!Flo I am very sorry to hear your news - sending best wishes x
I had home made pizza for supper tonight too - synchronicity r us?
Desley seriously there are rules about temperatures in the workplace - they need to sort themselves out!
Waiting for feedback from Elder Daughter about SW TLJ as she is my trusted film critic
Unfortunately Rosemary it is only a recommendation, not law. I do fortunately have an electric heater Patti. Had a horrendous evening, left work at 3.30, got home at 8, only did one home visit and food shopping! Car decided to have a constant squeal rather than its usual one that stops after a few mins, so pulled off the motorway and checked the oil, sat nav thought I didn't want to go back on the motorway so ended up on a roads in rush hour, so took 2 hours to do a 42 min journey! Also had a stupid truck driver who was that close I could barely see tarmac! Possibly shouldn't have done the food shopping, spent £38, can't make a meal, but can get drunk, eat sloe gin mince pies with alcoholic cream, the cats have food and got my last Christmas present!
Morning, another rubbish night sleep. It's snowing here and dry so sticking. Attempting to do all the housework this morning, wrap a couple of presents, take stuff to the post office before going to my friends for a house partySafe journey Patti
Am home after Christmas family visit and am recovering. Was so tired when I got home last night didn't eat but just went straight to bed. Feeling a bit better now, but hungry. Problem is that I am upstairs in bed and bacon is downstairs in kitchen.
Thanks to everyone for the condolences - much appreciated. Unfortunately and unbelievably - I've had some further bad news - my Nephew has been admitted with ? heart problems and extremely bad sciatica - so fingers crossed that he'll be ok. We're escaping for a few days to sunny?? Bexhill-on-Sea to meet up with our Daughter, SiL and his parents and hopefully a relaxing break.
Take care Flo. A break sounds just the job right now.Still ridiculously busy. Should ease off next week and I might get my tree decorated.
So sorry that things are never ending for you Flo, fingers crossed for your brother and hope that you get a much needed break
Flo, I have all my fingers and toes crossed that you have a better time of it next year.Morning all. If anyone's interested, the Voldemort of Christmas Cheer brings you a recipe.

Today was Star Wars day for me and is soon to be Strictly Come Dancing Final for my daughter. We both sacrifice for each other.
Review of TLJ from Elder Daughter - visually stunning, very funny, different from other SW but benefits the character development, 8/10.I expect I’ll be seeing it in June :(
Blooming freezing here again!
Great afternoon meet with writer friends and early dinner. Now home, comfy in pyjamas, glass of wine poured and laptop on. Lovely.
Good morning all. We are flushed with yesterday's success at the anagram quiz at the local Rotary Christmas lunch. A little thing, I know, but it gave us a pre-Strictly chuckle.Have a good one, everybody.
Morning everyone. Off to see Star Wars today as well - I've been dodging certain bits of the internet all week.
Morning, each! Off to see the little grandson today. He's gone from rapid crawling to running in a fortnight. He's discovered that Mammy can't catch him on her crutches! Supposed to be seeing Star Wars with sister over the hols. No spoilers!
Dave is talking about going to see it over the holiday as well.I'm not interested enough to care about spoilers.
Got the unpacking sorted and post gone through. Six months worth of junk mail doesn't half fill the recycling box!
Need to shop in a bit, then hopefully I can get more sleep after I eat something.
Had a lovely time at my friends, we had 10 different goodies to test and judge, not sure why I woke up starving! Fortunately came home with a goodie bag. Plus got good prizes from the card game, and things from other people that can go on a tombola. Need to do a bit of housework but head hurting a bit so a lot of time on the sofaGlad you arrived safely Patti. Never seen a star wars film.
