Good morning, guess what weather we have? Well it’s wet but it’s not white. It’s quite mild but it’s supposed to be getting colder later. I looked so elegant this morning dodging puddles letting the dogs into the garden. Old muddy trainers, pale legs - bluey green bruised shins where Thunderguts brakes don’t work, furry pink dressing gown topped with OH’s old gardening coat, all topped with his ‘best’ moleskin cap. Fashion. Who needs it?
Time has flown Will, I picture him like a 12 year old choirboy. Happy birthday
Patti if you want a Tesco delivery have you reserved a slot. I tried a couple of days ago and in my area the latest I got was the 19th.
It will do for the most of mine and I can do a little top up in store.
Stay warm folks.
Morning all. There is a vague possibility that my luck is changing!!! I took some recycling stuff out to the bin this morning - amongst all the cardboard and papers etc - there was one glass object and I'll only give you one guess as to which one it was that fell on the floor........ but, and here's the good bit, - it DIDN'T break....... so maybe things are looking up!! :)
Morning all, yesterdays snow has disappeared, it is trying to snow but not only are the flakes small, but it's really windy. Should have had a DPD order yesterday, which I rearranged for tomorrow, but had an email at 9.30 saying it will be delivered this morning? Just housework today.Interesting image Lynne. Happy bithday BBITW Will. How naughty of your neighbour Alicia
Ah, thanks for that, Lynne. I'm going to try ASDA delivery this time but I'm not fussed about having stuff delivered until between Christmas and new year, I think.
Might not bother with delivery at all. We won't be bringing much back with us this time. Got too much here that wants using up.
Morning. Just about to toddle off to cut some more greenery. I forgot someone's ring! She's going to collect it tomorrow so I've got time to make up for my misdemeanour!
Morning all,Been out in the snow with Dexter. It was his first time and he loved it!!!
I hope everyone is doing ok?

Aww, bless him
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Happy birthday BBITW!Is everyone in snow shock?"
Yes. There is snow out there, and I will have to drive through it to get to church. Husband said yesterday it wouldn't stick. Well, it stuck.
I tried very hard to get us out of New Jersey before this season's white crop, but he is dragging his heels. So I will watch anxiously at the window, again, while he goes out there to remove it each time it falls. Sigh. Not my idea of 'leisure.'

He didn't want to come in!The snow has been good for something. I have nearly finished all of the boxes I am doing for my teams christmas presents. I have burned their names in a nice font on to a little knick knack box.
They better appreciate it!
Afternoon everyone!I was too busy seeing family yesterday to be able to get online, but today we're having a nice quiet catch-up.
Happy Birthday to The Best Boy In The World. We're being battered by a storm in Jersey. Lashing rain and extremely blowy. Went to B&Q this morning. It is open on Sundays for Christmas. The excitement!

F'kin A they better!
I've stopped bringing baking to work since I left a cake on Dave's desk for a friend to take home for their son's birthday party only to discover it was destroyed while the classroom was unattended.
Now I keep it in my backpack and dole it out to individuals.

The supermarket here was playing Christmas carols today. In English.
A first!
I belted out 'little drummer boy'. Dave may have been embaressed.
Well, been snowing for a while here but its lightweight snow, so doubt it will last. Unlike the side effect of my antibiotics!
Only anti-biotic side effect I've ever had is thrush. Living in Africa was fun as the only anti-malarial that didn't make me even more nutz was a low grade anti-biotic.Tell a lie. There was another side effect. Sun sensitivity.
Don't care. Would go back in a heart beat.
Enjoying a cup of mulled wine whilst working on my chair's report for tomorrow's AGM. It is dulling the pain somewhat. Two at this time of year, I could do without it tbh. There seems to be a lot of snow about if the news is to be believed but it's been clear and very frosty here today. It always seems strange to see frost on the sand.
Happy birthday Will's Best Boy in the World, I hope you soon feel better Desley. Babs is not pleased. We had snow but it's so mild it melts when you tread in it. Result = wet paws and much tail lashing. She watched the birds from the safety of the cat tower today. Mulled wine sounds lovely, sadly the Lincoln Christmas Market is cancelled because of the snow so I will have to make do with a shot of Famous Grouse. Africa sounds tempting right now, white and cold I can enjoy, white and wet is not pleasant. :D
More papier maché with munchkins.Yeehaw.
What was the teacher thinking, doing this the week before Christmas break?
Argh!
Good morning all. Many thanks for the birthday wishes for the BBITW. He claimed birthday boy rights and stayed in his dressing gown and PJs until supper. Bless, he was swanning around all day dressed like Noel Coward.
Back to normality today. Everyone have a good one.
Good morning, once again not been on here for weeks(maybe months) life seems to be getting in the way .Congrats to any new babies, any weddings and any other good news.Hope not too many illnesses,Flo sorry to see you are still having a lot of troubles with illness in family.I just read last few pages of posts so not really up to all news .Kath I see you are busy again making wreaths for Christmas..Happy 17th birthday to Wills BBITW,Must make New Years promise to come on here more often ,best forum .Merry Christmas and all Good wishes for 2018 in case I don’t make it again before then.xx
Good morning everyone. Just popping in to say that if it froze last night and you already have snow then the roads will be treacherous with ice hiding beneath the snow.If you must drive, drive accordingly and be safe.
For those who are having a snow day (forced or otherwise) get out there and play whilst it lasts.
For those who don't have snow, well you'll just have to find another way to play and have fun, but that's not an excuse for not doing so.
In short (which I haven't been for years) stay safe and have a good day.
Morning all, no snow as such but we have little patches of frozen stuff, so will drive carefully. Boring admin week at workLovely to see you Kay, glad you are enjoying life.
Morning all! No snow here either, but ice had gridlocked the whole area - my train was about 20 minutes late this morning, and I hear others are worse
Morning. Nice layering of powdering white stuff this morning. Interesting how it seems to make some drivers forget how to drive! Stay safe and warm everyone :)
I always enjoyed driving in snow. Just have to be careful to watch your speed. Braking distance can be greatly increased. No lessons this afternoon, so I've come home. No point hanging around at school with nothing to do.

and always remember that driving in British snow can be very different from driving on snow in places where it's stayed below freezing for weeks on end
We us we get rain which freezes, thaws, gets snowed on, driven through, thaws and freezes and half thaws and you end up with something that varies between hardpacked snow and sheet ice. Often in the space of a car length :-(
Morning! Nice to hear from you again, Kay. Don't be a stranger - at least, not any stranger than the rest of us!Today's the only day I don't have anything in my diary - which means I need to catch up on all the things that I need to do but don't need a dedicated diary space.
Tiny little sprinkling of icing-sugar snow overnight but it's jolly cold. Half an inch of ice on the chicken's water bowl.
What started as a hectic weekend ended quite peacefully. I actually had an audience turn up for my Oral Storytelling at the Llandeilo Book Fair on Saturday - I'm not sure who was more surprised, them or me.Then yesterday ended up as a very chilled day - we were supposed to take K's grandchildren out, but that side of West Wales got all the snow and so we got to stay in instead.
Good morning everyone. It's still too cold and wet to work in the cabin. My pet hate arrived this morning aka the timid delivery driver who leaves a note and runs away when you are actually in. Mind you I am not surprised he is timid. The firm that shipped the goods (UPS) is demanding COD postage on an item where express shipping has already paid for. I have contacted them about it.
Well, most of the snow has gone, but left patches of white shiny stuff, my journey was fine, the pavements were very white, but the roads were OK, the worst bit was our car park. Unfortunately we have had another issue with the boiler so the office is freezing, as it is -1 outside. Crikey, your poor niece Flo.
Oh, Flo! that looks nasty!Just off to the farm round the corner for their home-made sausages and bacon. We're going to have the world's best pigs in blankets come Christmas day!
Flo, that looks shocking. I suffer from shingles and it can be excruciating but your poor niece is really suffering with it there. No snow in Jersey . . . just huge downpours of rain and battering winds.
The neighbor's granddaughter is out playing in our tiny bit of snow as if it were huge. She's about 3, so it's adorable. Grandma is out with her; looks very cold!
Well it was a truly beautiful morning, no frost even but after lunch guess what - it’s Wales and it puddles down and it’s doing it again now. Sounds like hail too. Just seen on the news the place we’ve ordered the turkey from is on fire. Oh dear, I’ve paid for it as well!
Maybe it will be delivered cooked Lynne!Sunny and freezy here again. I've had my AGM and it was all over quite painlessly, so that's it for another year. No-one stepped up to be vice chair although I warned them I won't be doing it for ever...
I fear there is no longer any putting it off - I am going to have to do some tidying. Both daughters will be coming home and I seem to have filled their rooms with frames, boards and assorted easels. Oops.
The temperature is plunging here and all that lovely slush will be lovely ice by morning. See if we have as many drivers acting as though it's not there as there were today. A good day to walk to work if you can.

Oh no, that's not good news. Perhaps they will be able to process orders somehow?
Jim wrote: "Tallulah Bankhead is said to have used it about herself"I have used it myself on occasion. ;)
Hope you still get your turkey Lynne. I got my first Christmas present today, and opened my first card. Neighbour brought my chocolate as a thank you for catsitting
Looking at the pictures it could be smoked turkey. It’s thick black smoke from the garage side of the turkey farm. 6 fire engines so it’s not a small fire. I ordered a bronze it might be jet black. They supply M & S with their bronze turkeys.
