Yes I thought it was a little surprising, is it the working conditions or living conditions or just 'stuff' ?
I thought only temps did that! I guess there is no age limit to irresponsibility. I hope everyone left behind is able to manage with the extra work left to them.Enjoy your weekend, Patti. I hope it is a lot cooler in the hills, I think I'd die if I had to try and live in 43 degree heat!
Morning.
Moved our plants to the front room where the kids don't really go, probably should have put them back in the conservatory this morning but I'm sure it'll be fine. The sun doesn't really hit the back of the house yet anyway.
Got to get a job application in today, why do I always leave it to the last minute?
Looks like being a lovely day again once the fog has lifted. Gardening jobs to do, we’ve just caught our little ornamental cherry tree blossom at its best. Next door’s is to come later but that is a huge old tree and it’s beautiful. Wisteria is a bit slow but at least I’ll see it this year - we usually go away just as it’s coming out.
I grew up in a town in Ayrshire, Rosemary, and we always went for the messages. Took a piece to lunch, and bought people a wee minding. Memory Lane. What a week! Busy with clients from breakfast to past dinner. Left home on Saturday morning and will get back tomorrow lunchtime.
It is 7.30pm in Singapore and my flight to London is 11.15pm. Sitting in the airport lounge doing some writing (about time too!) and having a glass of wine. and relax . . .
Interesting Kelly, it's not something people say around here at all.I'm needing a word, hive mind, and I'm sure all you booky people can help. A word like 'familial' but referring to friends... I'm sure there must be one but I just can't grasp it!
We would have had a fine piece up in Aberdeen, usually with our elevenses but acceptable at any time of day :o) And it has been known for people here to "do a few messages" I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they were going out for the messages in that exact phrasing. I've no idea what a wee minding is.Platonically? Companionable?
Another nice day, but had to put my gloves on to drive to work as it was only 1 outside! Need to do a bit of tidying for the cleaner and Lucy has her acupuncture and booster tonight (must remember to find the vacc card!) Wow, look at all you keen gardeners!! Sorry that staff are leaving with no notice Patti, are you any happier there? Safe journey home Kelly - hope the wine doesn't affect the writing!
Would amical do Rosemary? I’m a dull beggar I’ve just trimmed all my hydrangeas with a Bosch battery powered gadget. It’s brilliant. But on the very last one I discovered that I didn’t need to keep my finger on a button while operating the trigger. It would have been so much more comfortable if I’d have found that out sooner. Sore paws.
Thanks everyone,All finished now, i either did well or i did rubbish, have to wait and see.
How is everyone tonight?
Fingers crossed for you Lindsay. Sorry but I just got another seven letter word in Wordfeud...Thanks for the suggestions. Amical is perfect, thanks Lynne
Just had a bit of excitement, I had a Tesco delivery and put the hall light on, the bang as one of the lightbulbs blew was really loud. It made the delivery chap shout, It took all the downstairs lights out. Husband mended the fuse but the upstairs lights wouldn’t work then the back of the house. He did well to fix them, it took quite a while to get them sorted. I realised that I wouldn’t have a clue what to do if it happened when he wasn’t in.Fingers crossed Lindsay.
Morning all. My turn for the dawn chorus today. At least the neighbours seem to have got rid of the crowing chicken.
Morning all,My neighbour has a rooster but i only ever hear him when i am in the garden.
And thank you for beating me senseless in wordfeud Rosemary! lol
Maybe the packet of Paxo I left on their doorstep (in a Godfather horse-head-in-the-bed style) gave them a pointer ;)
Morning! Done a week's shopping then come back and we've strimmed the chicken's playground. She's out there happily frolicking in the sun. Five eggs in the last seven days. Not bad for an oldster.
Another nice day, and hardly anyone in the office! Good job it is Friday, going to wander to the co-op after work.Fantastic news Lindsay!
Sitting in the sun at a very shuggly table working. Doing the spec for my new covers. It would be easier if I had some clue as to what the books were going to be called ... except for the first one which is going to be an exclusive freebie for anyone mad enough to sign up to my mailing list. That's called Jump so now I'm wondering if maybe they should all be one word. They're short stories about a fellow who runs errands for a crime boss and so far, all I can think of are things like, 'special delivery' or 'return to sender' which sound like cheesy romance. Cheers

Morning all, went very tired at 7.30 last night, managed to stay up till 9, but of course that meant I was wide awake at 5.30! And because the cleaner came yesterday, I don't even have that much housework to do. Got a hair app at 1, and neighbour wants me to go to the retail park with her after that

My own fault; I should know better.
Well, had quite a nice day, got told by the hairdresser that I have great hair and am one of their favourite clients, before she gave me an egg custard! May have come back from the retail park with some cat food though, but not with any replacement pads for the steam mop, will have to buy them online. Getting a bit tired now! Sorry you had problems sleeping too, the chocolate cake sounds worth it though!
I remembered to set the clock and got to bed a bit early, so I've had pretty much the same amount of sleep as usual :-)On the down side it's chuffing dark out there now :-(
Morning! We're ahead of the clock in the light stakes already, which is why I've never seen the point of BST.
Well, nice and sunny, if rather windy. Feet really sore after yesterday. Got my usual Sunday chores and going for a meal with neighbour and her family this afternoon. Did remember to move the clock when I went to sleep, the car is the worst, it has 2 that have to be changed separately! Neighbour got me a lovely mothers day card from the cats.
Eh up! Sunny and bright here, but a little chilly still. My damson tree is in full flower and looks as though it's got a lace tablecloth draped over it. Too cool to eat outside. Shame. Won't be for long.
Morning all,Been to the first car boot sale for the year, picked up some nice plants and a toy mini for Dexter (i used to have a mini so he keeps calling it daddy's car) all for less than a tenner! can't be bad.
Off to London tomorrow as my mum is flying over and we are meeting her. Her first time seeing Dexter in person.
Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday.
Glad you got some bargains Lindsay, I love car boot sales. Hope you have a lovely family day tomorrow

Its nice to have a moment to catch up on your posts.
Would be nicer to have time to respond properly to them.
All okay here, for the most part.
One of the teachers did a runner on Monday and I expect another will this weekend. No surprise but I'm rather appalled at their lack of integrity. Anyway, none of my business.
We're going away again this weekend. Train up into the hills to get away from the heat.
Only meant to be 35 today. Was 42 yesterday.
