Sunny morning after days of rain. It's good to know the snow mass in the mountains is increasing - last year was a drought - but it gets a bit much. We saw lots of snow around Boulder and Denver, and the mountains we flew over; it's hard to imagine that all used up, but the fires in California were fierce and extensive last summer.
Sunday brunch to look forward to - they do it beautifully here.
It's really starting to feel like home.

it's what keeps you so young and beautiful :-)
Morning all. Traffic news reported non-existent road closures today, so I managed to get to work a full hour before I had to be. Another half-term kicking off, too so it's going to be unpleasant. At least the weather's holding off, especially after those rough winds over the weekend!
MorningAll those roads will be closed on your way home Gaff, sod's law.
My weekend felt a decent length for a change but it went from having no plans on Saturday morning to having my hands full by lunchtime. I went for a long run in the morning, which was lucky because I wouldn't have gotten out later in the day. Kitty goes to Spanish with her cousin and as we were getting ready for that my BIL told me that SIL had to go to hospital with a fever of nearly 40 so I offered to look after the boys for the day. Yikes! I had to call my mum to ask if she would take 2 of the kids in the car to a local soft play/cafe with me. There was no way I was staying in the house all day with 4 kids.
Only the eldest stayed over though so it was a bit easier come bedtime. He was taken home on Sunday morning but everyone came back again in the afternoon so I had to magic up a meal for 8 people. Thank goodness for chicken nuggets and I'd made a stew in the slow cooker the day before.
It was a stressy weekend but it was good stress and I loved every minute :oD
Youngest turned two on Friday, so that was a weekend spent doing parties first for family and then for friends, combined with a complete lack of anything resembling real sleep! Yay! Long week ahead here. Also, completely worth it.
Gosh, all that makes me tired just thinking of it! I'm going to look forward to the good weather to come, and sow my tomatoes.
Throat and hip not as bad today, although knee keeps twinging. Wind seems to have died down now, although it has started raining. New week means we are having server issues again! Glad that you enjoyed the chaos of looking after children Jud and Ben, not my idea of fun.
Even when they are being absolutely as good as gold little ones can be chaotic. There was a toddler barely solid on his walking in the dining room yesterday for Sunday brunch - I'm enjoying other people's grandchildren, and he was enjoying the attention. I was very glad he was someone else's responsibility! So much energy. Cute, smiling, friendly - and at that stage where they are determined to go everywhere and you have to let them.
First up best dressed againBut having been outside, I'd say it's not really worth getting out of bed
Got a funeral to churchwarden today
Off today and up early! Going to go back to bed with a cup of tea. Still got a sore throat and chest hurts when i cough. Currently dry and sunny, lets hope it lasts, me and neighbour are going shopping at 12, and having a bit of lunch. Pancake day today, neighbour does nice pancakes. Can't believe how much you do Jim!
I'm self employed and flexible :-)Amazing what you can get away with when you're used to not earning much ;-)
Morning all (I still can't get out of the habit of leading with that, even though the shiny morning thread has long since passed into legend). The sun's trying its best to brighten the day despite the wind's best efforts to blow it away. :-D
Mixed bag of lessons today across almost all of the year groups. Not sure if we'll bother with shroves tonight, but if you're partaking, enjoy!
MorningBack to routine this morning, waiting for mum to get ready for breakfast and then off to daycare.
It is pouring down, we had a lot of rain yesterday too coming back from Wales. Had a lovely weekend meeting my great niece.
Trying to decide what to read next.
MorningSIL is getting better but still in hospital, still trying to figure out what's wrong. I had to do the school run this morning to give the in laws a bit of a rest, it was my first time doing it since Kitty's first day!! Got into work an hour late just :o) I can easy work that back.
They have tested for meningitis now, they couldn't do the lumbar puncture before yesterday because her bloods weren't right, it would be good to get a positive diagnosis for something even if it is as terrible as meningitis.
Jud wrote: "Did you have a good time in London Benjamin?"Yes I did! We went to see the West End Aladdin, which I can thoroughly recommend.
Hope you get better news on the diagnoses soon.
Morning! You're right, Gaff. It seems rude to barge in without that salutation!Started the day with out usual walk to the local shop and post office and took my camera along.
Been catching up with reviews. Still got another to finish. Then I'll make my pancake mix. We're having savoury pancakes - filled with minced beef, onions, garlic and peppers. Yum.

Ohhh! Good to know. I love a Disney musical
Still knackered but the antibiotics seem to be working. Have a lunch out this week and next week, woot! Although next week McOther is flying to New York to negotiate some deal or other so I'm waiting for something to go horrifically wrong with one or other set of parents so I have to pack McMini into McOther's car and do a red cross mission. Hoping I won't have to but previous form would suggest that if not forlorn the hope is somewhat ... naive?Morning all!
Cheers

Hope you're feeling better soon, but take it easier than you think as long as you can. Don't waste energy anticipating - what comes will come when it does, and will need that energy.
Hi all.Home after a rather busy day. Dave did my duty for me, which gave me ten minutes of peace. I worked through the rest of playtime.
Nice to have a colleague I can take advantage of like that. ;)
Plumber is meant to come fix the sink. He's cancelled the last two evenings.
He better show up tonight.
Had an OK day off, wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, we were late setting off and hit loads of roadworks so I was starving when we got there and my neighbour wanted to look in shops as we were walking past, so I got a bit short. Then we didn’t like the vegi selection in M & S, so went elsewhere, which was really nice. Then her back was bad, so she went back to the car while I got the bits I wanted, but I felt like I had to rush back, so will have to go back on my own one day. When we got back, I decided to walk to Lidl to get milk and lemons – is less than a 10 min walk, but felt longer when I was walking back with 5 pints of milk! The bakery looked amazing, so I’m going back at the weekend. Might find I go there more than Aldi. Throat and chest not as sore todayGlad you had a good time in London Benjamin. Glad the ab’s are working MT, do try and take it easy. Hope the plumber shows up Patti.
Had to wear a different pair of trousers today, dementia sufferers can see colour differently and Dad hates the blue pair I've been wearing. So I got out a pair that are a bit tight and discovered that I've lost a fair bit of size around the waist and they're not tight anymore! Woot! So a very much more comfortable day than I anticipated!Morning all.

Anotherday with the GP. Sigh. This time, fresh antibiotics and steroids to help my breathing. Wonder if this lot will work?

Bless you, thanks. There's nothing like having flu and spending a few days asleep and being post viral seems to really take it out of me as well. Here's hoping.
It sounds as if the food at your place is so good that it must be very tricky doing the weight loss thing! ;-)

I dared weigh myself this morning (start of Lent - I'm not 'giving up' things so much as choosing to become aware of the consequences of my choices), and was very relieved to find I've only added four pounds since we moved here last August!
Too much, but far less than I feared. I can do this - it would have been very disheartening to have put on a lot more, and have to deal with it for health and clothes reasons.

4lbs is brilliant going from what you’ve described of the meals! You can get that off, I’m sure. I do really sympathise about trying to keep the weight down with something like CFS though, as I’m just arthritic and that makes exercise tricky enough. But I should imagine it’s not like you can just go for long walks, skip meals etc.

Yes Will, we are all sending fitness vibes, or whatever we send. I hope you’re well soon.
Bonjour, we had a good trip down, shopped and cleaned yesterday. I haven’t braved going on the roof terrace to clean I only removed the dead starling who had fallen off his perch. My lovely neighbour had swept the little yard downstairs and I’ve got daffodils, muscari, violets and winter jasmine all out looking pretty. It’s been so dry here, no rain for two months they said. We brought them some last night but it’s lovely and sunny this morning. We are putting my old car on a transporter this afternoon to come back to the U.K. as if Brexit happens I will have insurance problems. He wanted to drive it back next week then fly back. That would take him about a week to do the round trip. He saw sense when I said I’d not be able to get to the vets if there was an emergency. I know where to hit him (verbally of course) when we argue. 😀
Morning all. Bright and sunny in the valley today. Long day ahead though, with meeting and classes and fencing lessons ...
Thanks, all. It's certainly getting a bit wearisome nowI feel a bit like Remus, telling Harry 'I picked a very inconvenient time to be unwell'
Woke up very warm and sore throat was back, although chest not as sore. Supposed to rain for the next 10 days, might help me catch up on TV! Interesting way to find out you have lost weight MT, but well gone! Glad you have only put on 4lb Alicia, hopefully once you are settled in the new place you can get in a better routine. Do hope the new meds work Will – have they suggested an x-ray? Have a good time Lynne, poor starling
Jud, hope your SIL is ok and gets a proper diagnosis soon. Desley, you feeling better? Will, def hope the new lot are working.
I do actually feel a bit brighter this morning, which is good.Sadly, the weather isn't reflecting my improvement, so I think it's a morning at the desk sorting out Amazon Adverts and then a lazy afternoon with a new book
