Got home to find one of my neighbours lodgers, the one I get on with and make come for walks with me, is leaving on Sat. Everything just seems negative at the moment. Cleaner is coming tomorrow, so need to tidy the house tonight. Really foggy today didn’t see our building till I was at the side of it, but not as cold, although there is still a bit of snow on the bushes.

Thanks Jud, I’ll have a look at those. I find fruity teas smell better than they taste. It certainly is getting quieter on here, sometimes I feel I better not post, as the last one was mine!

Almost missed the train to work, Kitty wouldn't let me go. Thankfully she was happy enough to get in the car and drop me off at the station (my Dad was driving!). I've already been late for work once this week to stay at home longer with her because she was so upset. Can't be doing it too often though.

Finally seems to have stopped raining. Two meetings this afternoon, just to cheer me up! At least I have a long weekend, and it’s payday. Got to go to my neighbours vet again after work, then the co-op, get some money out for the Avon lady. Our friends from Malta arrive at lunch, but they are seeing other friends this afternoon, so won’t see them till they get back.

Hope she gets over her clinginess Jud, and hope they enjoy the activity

Getting ready for our final move - the new apartment will be ours on Feb. 1, if all goes as planned. We'll have one last push to the new place (which now looks like home, and has everything brand new), and then I'm not moving for 30 years. It's upstairs and over a couple, and I will have a view of the flagpole, and a bit of the horizon beyond that, and possibly mountains on very clear days.

Given how many temporary situations we've lived in since last August, I'm ready to stop living out of a suitcase.

My baby sister just had her first grandchild, a little girl, in Mexico City. DT is still pres., and AMLO is destroying Mexico. But the children still come.

Well, I was up at 5.30, foot was killing me, not sure I really got any more sleep. Hairdresser at 9, bit of pottering after, we have to take her lodger to his new placement at 4, might pop in Asda on the way back while cat food is still on offer (and I might buy some!). Not sure if there are any other plans, it is raining, so limits what we can do with her granddaughter.

Just booked some travel arrangements. Fingers crossed they don’t shut the doors before we get back. I think we’ve got everything sorted.
Daughter is a bit better, at least her BP is off the floor thank goodness. She’s got hospital next week for recurring carpal tunnel problems in both hands. It helps she’s got her dad to drive her the 40 miles to the hospital for the tests to see how weak her hands are 🙄🙄🙄

yes, I confess I've never been to the bobbin mill, but school children in south Cumbria struggle to avoid being taken there :-)

The only school trip I remember was to a toffee factory. It's no longer operating and the building has been knocked down and replaced by flats.

Morning all. I wrote a very, very long blog post about why I’ve not been here yesterday. Busy week ahead, lots of organising on the Dad front, social services, financial assessment, care assessment, I’m going to be back and forth to Sussex a lot. It would have been easier to stay on Tuesday night but I can’t as McOther might not be able to get back to collect McMini from friends at six.

I’ll be glad when all this is sorted and we get Dad settled in his new place. Still for now it’s grit your teeth and go on.

McOther has gone to an auction today so McMini and I are going to church, McMini under extreme duress! It’s sunny here at the moment, although I haven’t opened the curtains yet - I am sitting in bed after a rather late night last night.

Urgh, up again early! Got a bit of housework to do, then we are going for Sunday lunch, at a rather nice, if expensive place. Got a sore hip from being squashed in the car yesterday, fortunately for me they were practically out of the cat food on offer, although I made up for it by buying a full price maxi dress. Needed a weekend off being good, it was getting boring! At least it is dry and we have a bright sky.

Sorry that there is a lot of extra pressure to get your parents sorted MT.

Morning! Been there, Mary. My F-i-L became violent and pushed M-i-L down the stairs. He was sectioned, for her sake. He was a real gentleman and it's a difficult time for the family. He kept thinking he was back in the war. Staff looking after him were 'the enemy' - you can't rationalise that. He calmed down and was happy in a care home for his last year or two, as far as we could tell.

Sunny here. I'm going to try to catch up with reviews on my blog. Still coughing but otherwise tons better.

Our 5th form organised a job opportunity day and mixed up the coaches. The boys went to Viyella and watched shirts being made and we girls went down ’t pit. None of us became coal miners either.

Watch out for promotions that want to take your money! If an ad promises you the world, follow up and make sure you're getting what you're paying for! Sometimes, a promoter will offer you posts on varying sites. Some think you're not going to check to see if your book is posted there. Always check! I did just that to learn that the promoter had not yet posted my books where they promised they'd be. Yesterday, I got links to each site they promised to post in. I learned there were no posts for me. I sent it to the promoter! Beware.

Well, still not managed a lie in - but betting tomorrow, I won't be able to wake up early!! Saved some housework to do this morning, then we are going out for lunch before dropping our friends off at the train station, and probably just chilling after that. Quite chilly today, although bright. Had a lovely time yesterday, the restaurant is incredibly posh, not what we are used to, but the food was amazing and I tried quince gin, which is very yummy.

Morning all, the strange lightbulb thing is back over the valley today. Promises of light snow later on the week though, so that's something to look forward to. Another mixed bag of classes from Art to ICT, which should make it an interesting day in class.

Look after yourself Mary, remember you need time to recharge too and you can't look after anyone else for long if you aren't looking after yourself.

We went on a school trip round the Tayto factory (that's a crisp joint to you mainlanders), they make the worlds best cheese and onion crisps. I never went to a spool mill but I live near the old Barbour threads factory. I'd love to pick up a few spools of Barbour thread.

I was at the Titanic Centre for afternoon tea yesterday, it was delicious :o) Got my photo taken at the fancy staircase too.
