I'm only asking 5 cents for it.

It's a very old Mercedes. The chances of damage from any sort of collision with a human are minimal.
Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) wrote: "Are you referring to his language, the shade of the car or his thumb, Patti?"Geoff has the nail on the head, so to speak. All 3 are an interesting shade of darkish blue.
Serendipity in action.
We did go to Costco, and my first shopping trip of the year went well, I ignored the cat food bargains, only bought 3 things from Costco, 2 because my neighbour asked if I'd buy them for tea tonight, and then we nipped into Morrisons, I wanted 1 thing and only came home with 2. Foot is throbbing today though, and cold is worse, so am going to try having a lazy day, although the builder is hopefully coming, so I will need to go and get some money if he doesHope your thumb isn't too sore today Will
Morning all! Hi Geoff *waves*I'm trying to chase down an artist who is supposed to be giving a talk for the art group on Monday, I know she's read the message I sent her last week checking she was still up for it - no reply... Just rude really, it's now too late to arrange an alternative if she can't do it
Morning. My aunt shut her thumb in the car door and collapsed, caused her all sorts of bother. Not sure if there was an underlying issue or what but she wasn't allowed to look after my nephew for a while due to the risk of blacking out. Glad that didn't happen to you Will! I hope it isn't too sore today.
Fingers crossed she doesn't let you down Rosemary.
Desley, that must be some kind of super power to be going in for 1 thing and to not only come out with very little extra but to also come out with what you went in for in the first place!
Hi Geoff!
It was incredibly hard Jud, and slightly boring! But proud I didn't break my resolution in the first week. Sorry you didn't sleep well Benjamin
Morning, each. We went for a walk through the village to the post office. Resultion to get out every day. Problem is, I love being in! Came home with a paper for Himself so he'll be occupied with that for an hour or two.Sister coming for tea tonight. What larks!
Really hard frost here last night. The fences are still white now (instead of dark brown) and the car covered in frost too, despite being in what passes for the sun.Things you can't do with a terribly sore right thumb: fasten zips and coat/trouser buttons... open stiff outside taps to refill water butts for the rescue horses...
Hi Rosemary and Jud. Half asleep this morning as my sore ribs kept waking me up. Nature's way of reminding me of my own stupidity.
Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) wrote: "Hi Rosemary and Jud. Half asleep this morning as my sore ribs kept waking me up. Nature's way of reminding me of my own stupidity."Hang on, what did you do to your ribs? Did I miss something?

Well, didn't get a lazy day in the end, neighbour noticed on Facebook that a café we like have a new menu so we went there for lunch, then did a couple of errands on the way back. Had taken a parcel in for ratty neighbour that I had to give her, she was very grateful at being saved a trip to the post office! Now chilling for the evening, still full from lunch so not sure what we will do for tea, luckily the food we bought yesterday is OK till tomorrow!
I'm too embarrassed, really. We had a power cut over new year and I rolled out of bed to reach the torch I leave under my bedside table, and squeezed my ribs.See. Embarrassing, or what? Don't half bloody hurt.

I've done stuff like that many a time. I put my back out playing Minecraft a few weeks ago.
Morning!Word of the day (I came across it on twitter)
"tsundoku" - the act or art of acquiring more books than one will ever actually read, such that they gather in stacks & flocks on shelves and floors (Japanese, 積ん読, lit. "pile up-read")
I like the idea of flocks of books
Jim wrote: "that's seriously vigorous minecraft, remind me never to play!"You don't need to play Minecraft Jim, you do a lot of it in real life already.
Maybe not the diamond mining bit...
Didn't want to get up this morning! Normal Saturday stuff, food shopping, washing, cooking for my lunches this week. Grey and overcast too! Interesting way to hurt yourself Geoff! Love t he word R, and I also like the idea of flocks of books

It's true, blood diamonds are not a major part of the rural economy here in Cumbria ;-)
Jim wrote: "It's true, blood diamonds are not a major part of the rural economy here in Cumbria ;-)."Glad to hear it :)
Although the Minecraft diamonds tend to involve lava rather than blood.
Morning! No more torch diving, Geoff. Dangerous stuff.Think our decs are coming down today. There aren't many. Mainly on the tree which will go back in the garden in its pot.

Maybe I'll have to change my profile pic to a bright red danger sign!

Good morning all. You'll be pleased to know. I seemed to have suffered from dysania this morning.I hope everyone is good.
Had a great time at Bridge class last night. Played one hand and put down the fourth from top card in the suit. The tutor congratulated me for good play! Unfortunately, my partner didn't get the meaning of the message I was sending, that I had the king. The other two players both shouted "he has the King". Ah well. After the game I explained the meaning of the message. She'll remember next time.

The barbed wire and attack dogs get the message through already.

Was reading that thinking that’s some tough game of bridge!

And you thought it was sedate?
Well, the shopping trip went well and barely came back with anything that wasn't on the list, we then went for a walk, called in the local co-op, I decided the best way to avoid buying things I didn't need was to not take my purse! Good idea as I'd have come home with a book. Just got the washing, cooking and washing up to do yet, might leave some till tomorrow! Have never played bridge, hope your partner remembers that move next time!

"Having played poker and whist in the past, I was thinking that the complexity level would be about the same. How wrong I was. I haven't yet got to the point where I can calculate how much more complex the game is, as I can't see the surface. I think it gives you some indication when I say that this is the first year beginners course.
On my first cruise there was a Bridge class. I hadn't played since college days but I went. I was partnered with someone who played 3 times a week. Fancy him getting me... We played against a couple who regularly played. My partner was so exasperated with me that he steamed, muttered, swore, grumbled and so on. "One more," he said.I was dealt all Spades except for one and it included a run down from the Ace.
Sometimes life deals you the last laugh.
I love it when something happens and you think "If I put that in a novel I'd be accused to being too fanciful" :-)
