Kath and I are old enough to have known the twins ;-)"
I knew there was a reason your collie is always with you.
Unlike my retriever, Magic Molly, who vanished while I was checking fences in one of the fields. Took me ages to locate her. Grrrrr.

Glad your move went well LA, and that you are enjoying the new place.

So many interpretations of that!"
tell her to sort out her own matrimonial issues ;-)

Typos? are more fun than the real thing.

Mother-In-Law is getting a little better, each day sees an improvement. We have asked them to move in with us. Our house lends itself to being split into two but we'd need a fair bit of building work first.
Righty-ho, off to the day-job.

I heard this morning that we are supposed to have a storm this weekend. And here I was considering another 10k on Saturday, not registering for that now!
Glad mil is doing better Kelly

Indeed, but it is helping me catch up with the outdoor tasks
(Which is why I'm not here very much)

Luckily neighbour got rid of the idiot boyfriend, putting drops in a rat's eye is very interesting, and a lot harder than a cat! Luckily his antibiotics are hidden in yoghurt so we don't have to syringe him too. Glad M-I-L is getting better, hope they agree to move in with you Kelly. Lovely sunny day here, supposed to rain for the next 7 days, so glad I managed to get 2 washloads done yesterday, practically done all the holiday washing now.

And it makes much more sense that it is the neighbour's rat you need to get eye drops in to. I thought you had to put eye drops in the neighbour's eye whilst helping another neighbour who had a wild rat infestation.

Absolute cracker of a day here today. Have been out for a very long walk with the camera, although it was so nice I forgot to take too many photos - just enjoying the moment!

Yep, we had our Indian Summer today too - the sun has just gone down behind the hills, leaving a blue sky dotted with sweet little pink clouds.
Himself managed the hospital stairs with a crutch this afternoon and the occ. therapists came for a home visit. The result is several aids will be delivered on Friday, with himself to follow shortly after!
Thanks for the good wishes folks.

Glad he is improving and will be home soon Elizabeth

Yes, she was brilliant!! Would definitely see her again. And I got my copy of her book signed :) slowly growing my collection!

She was my old University tutor, I'd love to go and see her again but I can't imagine she'd come to Ireland.
Glad the Mr is improving, Elizabeth and I hope he does get home soon.

That's a bummer

Newsthump on Facebook a couple of days ago:
Doctor Who slammed as unrealistic - for showing a working train service between Manchester and Sheffield

Thanks Desley - hope you managed to get a good rest!

Monday night there was a long tv campaign about keeping communities viable with an exciting programme of new coaches serving villages without trains. How the butearocracy were serving the needs of people and public transport was the way forward etc. Wonderful. Next up on the news the announcement of the strike for Tuesday. All trains buses trams on stop and public car parks would be free for the strike. The newscaster couldn’t keep a straight face.

Wow, glad you are OK Lynne. Sorry you had travel issues Benjamin

Shocking. I'm surprised he didn't need a team and a cherry picker in order to tell you that.

Wow, I'd love the chance to see what her full lectures were like!

That's so nice to hear. He just needed a loving home. Good work.

Happy homecoming for your H.

I echo that statement Patti. It has been a very busy week and i have been given more responsibility at work. I now manage a manager so that is going to be fun.
TGIF!!!

Sorry you are working on a Sat Patti. Managing a manager sounds interesting Lindsay

She has some stories Claire, including coming across someone with tartan dyed pubic hair! I would do my course over again in a second, her lectures were fascinating.
Stuck in meetings most of the day, hopefully it'll make the day go in quicker. Yay for Friday!

Did you ever read Malcolm Saville's brilliant childrens' books set round there?

My Grandfather's library had a few of them. Wings Over Witchend was my favourite

My brother read the lot - and I borrowed them. He also wrote - and received a reply from Malcolm Saville. If I remember correctly he was asking if there would be a follow on series with just the younger children.
My brother has spent quite a lot of time in Shropshire - apart from visiting when he was younger, they go regularly now as my SIL's family live there.
I think I preferred the ones set around Rye.
