Been awake on and off since 6.30, we have our sponsored dog walk this morning, unfortunately it is raining! Luckily we have nearly £300 in sponsorship, so doesn't matter if turnout is poor. I'm not actually doing the walk, I'm staying at the set off point but luckily we are inside this year. Was going to get the car washed on the way home, but not sure there is any point! Bit of admin when I get back, and hopefully some time to chill.

Had to take my daughter back to hospital last night. She had severe pre-eclamsia when she had her baby and then haemorrhaged. The baby was born 10 days ago and she's been back to hospital three times for overnight and often days. She is becoming very depressed at losing this special time with her new baby and husband. Sorry to dump on you, folks.
It’s thick fog here, He’s getting better thanks Lindsay, he’s such a lovely dog, a real big softy. Have a good Sunday all.

Where about do you live, Lynne?

Hi Catherine. I live right on the edge 😀 (Pembrokeshire ) I hope your daughter and baby are better. It’s very worrying, our maternity services in Pembrokeshire have been decimated by the WA and health board. Pregnant women have to be taken to Carmarthen which can be a trip of 40 miles from St. David’s . It’s 30 for us and last night again one the 2 ‘main’ roads (not dual carriageway even) was closed due to yet another accident,
Hope all is okay with your daughter, Catherine.Lynne, sounds like that was a worrying time.
What did you choose for lunch, Kath?
Am in the study, at the laptop - again! Sunny outside though.
Here’s a thought for you international teachers. My school in Nottingham had a reunion last week and as the building is still being used as a school they asked if they could have a tour. The headmaster kindly agreed and a dozen or so went round. They were very warmly welcomed by the pupils and emjoyed seeing their old school. They were told by the headmaster that they had pupils with 52 different languages in the school. I don’t think I could even name a quarter of them. How teachers cope with that is amazing.
Sorry to hear about your daughter's rocky start with her new baby, Catherine; hope it's all fixed quickly. Amazingly resilient creatures, babies. Good memories will replace the scary ones.
Not a great turn out for our dog walk, but we are aiming for £400, which is good. They nearly completed it before the rain started, so that was good. I got put at the back of the visitor centre so only saw 3 people that weren't staff! Got some reading done though, and took an e-mail address to see if we can hold fundraisers there. Rain got heavy as we were packing up, so skipped getting the car washed! So sorry to hear that Catherine, I can imagine the situation is getting her down. Wow Lynne, I don't think I could name a quarter either!!

I had the roast beef. You can do it at home, but a big joint is always more succulent. It comes with roasts, mash, stuffing, a Yorkshire pud and four dishes of vegetables. You help yourself. Then horseradish and a coating of gravy - I wouldn't call the king me uncle!

Evening all,Well i got thoroughly spoiled today, lot's of great birthday presents. I am particularly excited about my new Makita drill set, i am looking forward to testing them out!
Hope you all had a nice Sunday
Good morning, lovelies.Had a busy weekend. Shopping and cleaning on Saturday, cooking and entertaining on Sunday.
I could do with a couple more days off...
Morning all, didn't want to get up this morning, very stiff and sore! Happy birthday Lindsay. Glad you had a good weekend Patti
Drizzle here as well. Little lad didn’t want me to take the car he wanted to walk under the umbrella. I’ll be OK when I get straightened up again 😀I’m quite happy not to take the car anywhere near school at 9 am. Whoever planned two schools with the only access via a cul-de-sac on a side road should be made a crossing warden. Crackers!

I wasn't all that urban before, as it was a three minute walk to the next house, but did have civilisation about a mile away. A rush of urbanity was having three cars on the lane in an hour... K's smallholding, however, is a different kind of rural.

Hello!I started a new job today, same role different department. We went to Aberdeen again last week since we had the time to do it to and it was a lovely break, so much more relaxing than when we went over for the wedding, It was just a shame that everyone was at school or work (although that did mean we could do our own thing when we wanted). It has made me really homesick for Aberdeen though, it made me question whether we were right to come back home,
I hope your daughter recovers quickly Caroline. It's a shame she is missing out on the first days but if baby is with Daddy then that's equally special and things might even be easier for your daughter as Emmi will be content to be with her Daddy instead of just Mummy, not that your daughter will want to hear that right now.
Ah Kath, that sounds delicious. I am having chicken and salad pitta breads for dinner but now I want roast beef, with all those gorgeous trimmings. Oh well . . . Mind you, my mother-in-law is 80 in a couple of weeks and one of her celebrations is a Sunday lunch for her girlfriends. I have already chosen the roast beef. yum. (Err I had to google "I wouldn't call the king me uncle". Cool. You really do learn something new every day!)
Hope you're feeling better Desley. Happy belated birthday Lindsay.

It doesn't know, "We'll give today to the king."
Good morningI find myself with 15 minutes of free time! No idea how that happened.
I think my Tuesdays will be okay. No duties and no meetings. Plenty of teaching time, once I FINALLY get the EAL programme up and running properly.
Hoping for next week.
Having said that, last week I was hoping for this week...
Admin here seems to require lots of prodding...
admin ALWAYS needs lots of proddingExcept when you don't need it at which point it needs gently lulling to sleep :-)
Morning! I was a school admin. I was the one who did the prodding. Not to mention proofreading the head of English's letters to parents!
Yes, can't trust English teachers Kath! Good luck for the doctor appointment Tim. My really random dream, was shopping, turned into being in a bar at New Year, and when Big Ben chimed, the alarm went off!!
Afternoon!Had a long meeting this morning and another one this afternoon but I'm slowly finding my feet. All I need is the password for my new account and I'll be good to go.
Starting to stress about the logistics of parenthood, supposed to be at Girls Brigade tonight by 6.15, I only get home at 5:50 (on a good day) and have to get myself and Kathleen ready. Then tomorrow morning I have to get the kids to the childminder for after 8am and in to work for as close to 9 as possible. The earliest train I can get is 8.30 and that will be tight. Argh! They've only briefly met the childminder once before too so it could be fun trying to drop them off...
Cross fingers, Tim.I now seem to have a working office at last. a small oasis of insanity amidst a wider chaos.
Let us know how you got on Tim.I've just received an email from payroll stating "To date, I have not received your new staff form". Is it just me or does that imply that he expected it a while back? 1. I only started the job yesterday and 2. I dropped it off at the payroll office yesterday as the form advises you to do.
Wouldn't surprise me if they had lost my form.
No other grumbles for today. Nearly home time!
Had my dressing changed, and meds adjusted. They've given me a bunch of spare dressings, so I should finally be able to have a soak in the bath :)
Good luck sorting out your logistics Jud. Glad things are looking well Tim. There had been another accident on the way home so only just got to the vet on time to find she was running late! Carrying Lucy has made my foot hurt though, then had to sort out the cat supplies order.
The tide has turned. I recovered my main writing file (and a system for getting control of other Scrivener files), and it took me several days and a paid helper who didn't help much in the beginning, an hour and a half on the phone with a higher-level tech at Apple, and an hour with the Scrivener 'knowledge base' on their website. And I'm so happy I would skip it I could still skip.
Without writing, I'm a bored old retired lady. With it, I'm me. I've been without it all these months since the July 3 crash, and I'm back to happy. Phew.
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Thats wonderful Alicia :) I'm so happy for you!"Thanks. Still grinning.
Morning all, didn't want to get up this morning, nearly set a new alarm! At least foot and neck are less sore. Wind and rain gone but red sky so not sure it will last. Phone is refusing to switch on. Great news Alicia
