David Hadley Hope you're feeling better soon Patti.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Hey, Jud! Do you have hay fever? I think it can strike later in life.
Sunny here but I suspect not for long.

message 7253: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I don't think so. I've no other symptoms, I really hope it isn't hayfever

message 7254: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Hope Patti's improving. Haven't heard from her for a worryingly long while.

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Not like Patti to go AWOL, is it?

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Glad you had a good time in Aberdeen Jud, hope your eyes are nothing serious. Builder did indeed turn up, as has the scaffolder, was slightly concerned when he said he hoped the mesh would be here tomorrow, I may end up with a half complete job.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4838 comments The last of the donated furniture, a whole truckload, has just left - I wish it well in its new families. The only upside of moving is being able to place things you used gently with others who can use them.

Can't think straight; movers tomorrow or the next day (supposed to be tomorrow, but it's going to rain, and another day to pack the last bit wouldn't be amiss). Skeleton household. We'll be in a local motel until closing, and in a guest suite where we're going until stuff arrives - 8-15 days after they take it - so life will be odd for a while.

Will be with you in spirit, and from various wifi locations, but may not always be coherent.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly Alicia

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Home from holiday booo! Discovered that plants I'd left friend to water on island have leaked and left a mark. Never occurred to me that the person doing the watering, who is usually very diligent, would over do two and let them overflow. McOther is not pleased, 'I nearly said something but I bit my lip.'

He will be like a bear with a sore head for hours now. Trouble is, he's very smart and an engineer so like all engineers he assumes everyone else is thick. I, meanwhile, assume that I am thicker than everyone else. Because I know that I would manage a) not to overwater and b) if I did would clear it up I assume that no-one else is going to be that dumb. Clearly I have a lot to learn. Although to the engineer, failing to foresee a disaster such as this is simply more evidence of my unutterable stupidity.

McOther went off to the supermarket to do the shopping shortly after it happened and I confess I was worried he might not come home.

Still, he is now back and it will be OK in a while.

Cheers

MTM

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4838 comments At least your plants are alive. I came home - first time we were gone two weeks - to find mine were full of mildew and bugs. They all had to go. I'd had some of them well over thirty years, and longer than my children.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Hope things go smoothly for you Alicia. Oh dear MT. I remember once being left home alone and got the watering instructions wrong, killed a few. Enclosure is half done, think I need an early night, shoulder is also painful

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I have been without internet all day, just got it back. Played a lot of Minecraft and read a book. Now able to rejoin the real world!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments How did you cope?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "How did you cope?"

Surprisingly well. I'm glad to have it back though.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning, lovelies.

I'm here.

Still struggling with my tummy and stupid busy, of course.

Hopefully things will calm down soon.

I've not eaten since Sunday morning...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh you poor thing! Mandalay belly sounds pretty nasty :(

message 7267: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning all. Hope you feel better soon, Patti, that sounds horrible.
Good luck with the move, Alicia.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Jeez, take it easy Patti. Off to visit the parents today with the little one, picking up the cat tomorrow. Have fun everyone.

Cheers

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, woke up early, struggled to get to sleep, then struggled to get up with the alarm. Hoping the builder finishes today

Sorry you still aren't well Patti, hope it settles soon.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Spent the morning in a meeting then flat hunting.
Had the driver take me back to the hotel at 11. Just couldn't manage any longer.

Feeling a teeny bit better after a sleep. Not dripping with sweat now, anyway.

I've not shit nothing so much since India.

message 7272: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments TMI, Patti!
Morning. Hoping to finish, or get close to finishing, a first draft today. This aft I need to get out and cut greenery for a mammoth arch-making tomorrow.

message 7273: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning!

Good to see you back, Patti. Better watch where I step.

I don't know why I bother trying to get an early night, I just spend my first 3 hours getting up and down to everyone else. Might as well stay up until after midnight in the first place. *yawn*

message 7274: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Aww - it's a mum thing. Plenty of us know how you feel. And when they're grow up you never fail to appreciate the joys of an undisturbed night.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I lost the art of sleeping when mine were young and have never rediscovered it.

Morning all! Seems to be raining and my gmail has a 'fresh new look' which is unduly upsetting me.

message 7276: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah, mine is due for that. They asked if I wanted it early. I am not an early adopter of anything. I shan't like it, I just know!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments I'm surprised your system isn't used to these things with all your travelling Patti. sorry you had a rubbish night Jud.

message 7278: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Whole new set of bugs here, Desley.

When we had the 'doctor talk' last week, he said 100% of the water here is contaminated.
Can't really understand how Dave has escaped it, as we've both been eating the same food. Well, until Sunday. Nasty man had a curry for dinner. I made him eat it on the balcony.

I took antibiotics this afternoon. I'm hoping they'll sort me out quickly.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments That's a shocking percentage of contaminated water. Hope ab's work for you

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4838 comments We found out yesterday morning they are using the second day in our two-day window, and that's why we are not totally panicked yet: it's 10:30 here, and they were originally scheduled to come at 9.

Never were two people happier to be delayed by a day.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Evening, been a bit busy so had to read all the threads, Mary you made me think about a conversation I couldn't help hearing between the local bus driver and a passenger she must have known really well. They weren’t t exactly discreet about a friend in common with an idle teenage daughter. Apparently the girl did nothing at home but offered to water her friends plants - the parent was boasting how the kid had really shaped up over the holiday season. The bus driver then told the passenger that the plants in question, unknown to the proud parent, were cannabis and they both roared with laughter.
Husband took little Harry on the train to Haverfordwest and came home on the bus. First time for both for Harry, he was giddy with excitement when he got home.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all. We've just had new blinds fitted and I can actually sit at my desk without having the sun glaring through in the mornings.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, struggled to get to sleep, then got woke up at 4 by the foster cats. Busy day today, then cat sitting.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning! Big floral arch day today. Wedding on Sat and should have been doing it tomorrow but I went on strike. It's our 48th wedding anniversary tomorrow so we're spending the day together. That's how we made it this far!

message 7285: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Congrats Kath, Get better soon Patti, Alicia glad there was some respite!

Home from holiday on Tues and did the Sussex run yesterday. It was a lovely day but glad I don’t have to go today! We should be able to collect the cat this morning and then relax. McMini is very keen to see a friend so I must try and line one up - there are advantages and disadvantages of his spending the entire holiday with another kid!

message 7286: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Congratulations Kath! Have a lovely day tomorrow.

Morning

I almost missed my train this morning, just about made it after sprinting up the street to catch it.

Kitty starts preschool on Thursday! Eeeep

Don't blame you!

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Afternoon all, it's been showering today - more like April weather than August but it's been a funny year, weatherwise - so I've more or less stayed indoors. Congrats on the anniversary Kath and hope the ABs will help Patti.
Engaging swanky mode for a funcy preview at Bonhams this evening. I move in the best circles doncha know ;)

Best of luck with the move Alicia!

So glad I took today off school. I'm feeling ever so much better. Even ate food and its stayed in for at least three hours so far!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

I'm on the balcony slurping my first coffee since SUNDAY!

I don't think I cottoned on to how ill I actually was until I started to feel better yesterday.
Hopefully I'll be able to focus at school today.

My room is pretty much an empty shell. Not that there's much available at school to put into it.

The principal will receiving a looooooong list of requirements from me today.

My walls are battleship grey. Good grief.

Oh well. All in good time.

Glad you're feeling better, Patti.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Yay! Great news Patti.

First world problem or what? I put my Fitbit on charge while I cleaned my teeth last night and forgot to put it back on again so I’ll have no sleep stats. Very annoying.

Morning all.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, woke up early to the sound of rain and the heating coming on! Think I have a busy day, then catsitting again.

Glad you are feeling much better Patti, good luck sorting your classroom out

If the fitbit didn't measure it, did it happen?
I hope you've got a suitable excuse when the Illuminati send somebody round to check up on you :-)
