Morning all, struggled to get to sleep, so feel tired. Not much on today, got the hairdresser at lunch, might go to Costco with my neighbour, but not feeling in the mood for that at the moment. Not much housework either. Weather looks rubbish.

Morning,Patti, that sounds amazing. I so hope you'll be happy there and what a wonderful experience.
Hope the lunch went well, Kath.
Weather is miserable, to-do list is food shopping, editing, blustery beach walk and yoga. There are actually dozens of things on my to-do list but this is all I'm aiming for today.
Morning! Lunch guests stayed till 6! So yes, it went very well. Off to do a review, contact an author, then I may get a few words down.
Drizzling here and cooler too. I got told off yesterday by the trainee male aged 3. He asked me to get a toy set up for him and could we play with it. I said yes and got it ready. I stood up and he said sharply, “Don’t wander off,”
Afternoon all. Short on sleep here, too, after the neighbours decided to yell in the street at midnight.
Ended up going to B & M with my neighbour, no intention of buying anything, just wanted to get out for a bit, and bought quite a bit, including yet another toy and cat food, you'd think I'd bought enough of that recently! Also came back with some reduced bedding, don't really need any, but it doesn't go off.
Am I the first up?It's still surprisingly mild, walked home from a Barbecue in town yesterday evening, in shirt sleeves.
Chucked it down overnight but still warm
Morning Jim! And everyone else :) It's been raining all night here and it hasn't taken the golf course long to get back to green.Sorry been absent lately, been through a fairly traumatic event but things seem to be OK now. In fact I'm going out shortly to purchase some bacon. Not from the butcher sadly as he is now shut on Sundays
Yesterday was a rather horrible day. We were taken to our new accommodation and it was appalling. I wont go into details but i will say we all threatened to go straight to the airport.Good news is now we've been put up in a gorgeous 4 star hotel until wr all find our own apartments. The school will be giving us full support with house hunting.
Think we scared tje shit out of the noard.
Woke up really early, can't decide if I want to stay awake to get more done, or get more sleep. Wet and windy out. Some charity admin this morning, bit of housework, but a nice easy day. Sorry you have had a traumatic event R, hope things are OK now. Sorry you had accommodation issues Patti, but glad they sorted it for you.
Morning! Just had the weekly bacon ration with Matilda's eggs, grilled home grown tomatoes, black pudding and toast (home made brown and white bread). And tea. Need more tea.Writing today.

Hope Bacon helps, it's the answer to a lot of things :-)

Glad they've seen sense

Glad they saw sense Patti. Morning everyone. It’s scorchio here but, unfortunately, it’s our second to last day ... boooo.

The pig makes a commitment, the vegetarian makes a statement :-)
Good on you all, Patti. We had bacon today. Must be Sunday.
Rosemary, hope you're ok. Only shops under a certain square footage can open in Jersey on a Sunday - so the butchers at the local farmshop is open but the big Waitrose is closed. M&S in my parish is also open as it's a pretty small shop.
Dull, grey and murky day.
I throw bacon bits (the real kind, not those horrible fake ones) into just about everything I can, so I get my fix every day. Already cooked, and half the fat removed. Can be eaten straight out of the bag if necessary.
Evening all. We've had alternating cloud and sun and drizzle, which makes it impossible to plan anything.Hope you're okay Rosemary, and glad you got things sorted Patti.
So the blooming crows have pecked away so much of the flashband from our big old roof light that there has been a big puddle collect in the lower glazed level today. We tipped it so that the water all ran to the edge - but of course it appeared at the opposite side from where we were holding the bucket... Next dry day I'll have to squeeze myself out the tiny roof hatch and re-apply the nasty bituminous tape stuff. Why the crows peck it off I do not know!Bit worried by the sound of fake bacon Alicia.
There is something here called, IIRC, 'Bakos,' which is a texturized vegetable protein product. Good for vegetarians, I suppose, but I had a nasty surprise when I put them in a salad at a restaurant salad bar - and they looked like bacon, but were not. They were labelled 'bacon bits.'
Is the Bakos stuff anything like 'fakeon' (not sure how it's spelled.)A friend of mine worked in the US summer camp which was predominantly for Jewish children and of course the meals were all kosher.
So they had this fakeon instead of bacon
He wasn't entirely impressed.
On the other hand he did introduce them to Marmite, and true to form, of the group he was with, most loathed it but two or three loved it and went on to buy it in the foreign food aisles of the local supermarket :-)
Morning all! Bit dull here but off on the train to Embra this morning to hand in a painting to a gallery, then visit inlaws. Dodging the Festival tourists all the way
Morning all, got woken up at 6.30 by the cat snoring! Not sure if we have a receptionist today so not sure if I am needed. Most of my colleagues have meetings.
Sorry I'm been so quiet. Spent most of the day/night on the bog. Went to school this morning and the principal sent me back to the hotel at 11.Been curled up sleeping when not in the bog.
I hate being ill.
Good MorningHope everyone is well
I've just found the Grumpy thread (we've not used it for over a year - we must be a happy lot.)
After putting a long post on there I feel slightly better.
Thank goodness for a big choice of books to read.

Oh, Patti! how horrid. Keep up your fluids.
Sorry you aren't well Patti, thought of you last night, watched an episode of Madam Secretary that was about Myanmar
Hope you feel better soon Patti, that's pretty miserable :(Edinburgh was, as expected, hoaching with visitors. Glad to get back home.
Hope you feel better soon Patti!I got a bargain today, a classic edition Trivial Pursuit from 1983 for £2. it is in great condition to!
Keep up the fluids PattiHope you're feeling better soon.
When you are feeling better you might find https://tallissteelyard.wordpress.com... totally inappropriate for your condition
But anyway get well soon
I must admit I've always had a feeling that Benor was sort of a dog person, but Tallis doubtless has to deal with a lot of pets professionally and so reading stories to cats isn't going to worry him at all :-)I'll have to up the cat-friendly content
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "He had fun with a mule recently..."a better audience than most it must be admitted.
Still it is a grey day here. I might get a bit of writing time, who knows!
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Do the cats like Tallis?"No idea, can't be worse than the crime books I read them!
Morning all, had a rubbish night sleep and couldn't spend extra time in bed as the builder is supposed to be here at 8. Got a 2.5 hour team meeting this afternoon.
Morning!126 new posts, I haven't read them all. How is everyone? Are you ill Patti? Get well soon
I had a great time in Aberdeen and even met up with the lovely Lexi but I fear I was a little distracted with the two kids. I wish I didn't have to come back to go to work.
My eyes are all bleary today, like I've been crying loads or something. I hope it is just tiredness
