Too bad you're so far away. I need one.

looks intriguing
Woke up at 6.30, after the initial 'urgh, it's Saturday' feeling, I realised that I felt quite human, so decided to get up. Am hoping I don't feel the need to go back to bed. So cool here I've had to fiddle with the thermostat as the boiler tried to come on! Was supposed to go to our coffee morning, partly to drop our cheque off, and partly because my neighbour wanted peanut butter cookies, but the lady who makes them is on holiday, so not going. We are going to Costco this afternoon, never been so looking forward to it, even though I'm sure I don't need anything. Sun is trying to shine. Glad you are enjoying it Patti, and that your colleagues seem a nice bunch. Exciting that one of the teachers is an author. That is a shame Alicia, you'd have been welcome to it.
I peeped out the curtain to see what the weather is doing and wished I hadn’t. It’s softly raining but there’s such a lot of it. It sweeping across and really soaking. I ‘ll bet my daughter needs dry undies this morning at work. Nothing planned here. Enjoy your holidays Kelly.
Your travels broaden my mind Patti i have a look where you are and it’s fascinating. Broaden my beam as well - I’m sitting here just reading about it. Do you need a card for Costco Desley?
Kath wrote: "Morning! Off to visit rellies later today.Rather mixed reviews for that book."
I agree Kath. Ive asked him to send me a pdf. :)
We walked for hours today. Was wonderful! We're gonna do it again tomorrow. There's a huge pagoda complex we want to explore. Also a zoo I fancy checking out. It may be rather heartbreaking though.
Glad you're vicariously enjoying our travels Lynne. Let me know if you'd like me to share more details about anything. I'd be more than happy to.
Afternoon all.Had a great day out in my garage today, just pottering around building stuff.
Hope you are all having a good day.
Well I was very good at Costco, not just in that I didn't buy any cat food, but didn't buy much of anything, some of the larger stuff me and my neighbour went half on, I paid for those and need to get some money back from her. Idid get my own card though. It was 3 when we left, so we decided to go to Nando's for a late lunch/early tea so we didn't have to cook - must thank my colleague for the recommendation, I have only been once, over 10 years ago and the only vegi option was spicy bean burger, but they have improved, we had lots of choice! I contemplated having pudding but we had bought danishes from Costco so having one of those instead. Then called in Aldi for weekly shop and came out with 3 reed diffusers! Feet are killing me now, so chilling for a bit before going to my neighbours to watch TV.
We've had a few drench pours since we've been here but nothing unmanageable. We stopped for a drink yesterday and the skies opened while were inside but stopped as we were ready to leave, which was incredible timing.Been reading about the pagoda complex this morning and apparently the best time to go is late afternoon, so we're gonna laze about until later.
Was awake before 7am again this morning, did try and get back to sleep but Lucy started messing about and disturbed me. Sounds wet and windy out there, so not bothering opening the door to check. Lazy day of housework and watching TV, might even have a bath if it stays this cool.
Morning, all. Got back late last night and still had the collective feline yowl at 5:30 am. I'm a little tired.
afternoon - am faffing about between reading, writing, and poodling through social media. It's pouring with rain outside.
Went to the pagoda complex. It pissed down. Found a great restaurant and had a wonderful steak, though!

Good MorningA misty looking morning.
I had a busy weekend. My sister &BIL came on Saturday, we took Mum shopping for a new photo frame for a picture of Eleanora
I bought a new backpack.
On Sunday we went to the supermarket and printed some photos for the frame. Then my sister went home and Mum, Misty and I went over to my brother's for the afternoon. We sat in the garden and watched some of the planes from the airshow flying over. The Red Arrows all flew over quite low.
After tea we set off home, very heavy rain on the motorway, then further along slow traffic, more heavy rain, then when we were home it didn't look as if it had rained at all.
I didn't get to read until bedtime.
Morning all, bath see to have helped my foot but neck is worse. Grey outsideSounds a good weekend Janet, glad you got to see some of the airshow
Morning all, damp and miserable here. We put the dog out in the garden for a few minutes and he looked mortally offended.
Been hammering down here all day. Apparently mandalay is much drier. Looking forward to that.Got some idea of the schemes of work we'll be using now, which is nice.
We're all meeting in a couple of hours to seek out a place to have dinner. Gonna flop until then.
Eh up! Just been on the moors with our lad and his lad. Mum was busy as they're off on hols in a couple of days. It's lovely to see a two year-old fascinated with insects, plants, feathers, sheep, cows and (for some reason) Argos!
Flash flood warnings here; my assistant lives far enough away she won't risk it. We have a moving date!OMG - it's fewer than ten days away, and I'm not finished packing. Getting there, and our agent is taking a lot of the remaining donates.
We had a nice talk last night; Gizzy (the chinchilla) is doing very well, and her new owners are delighted. They are giving her far more attention than I could manage, and it is a good thing. That's a huge load off my mind, as I hadn't heard much after the initial adjustment, and always fear the worst when I don't hear (I need to work on that).

What's an Argos?

Wouldn't that give a young child nightmares?

(on the other hand, I'm sure Tallis has a story....)

Bethom baby eater and terrified children appear in 'The Festival and other stories' (A charming child.)
So Tallis has explored the genre
But hundred eyed giants are a specialist genre in and of themselves :-)
Hi Guys, just wanted to pop in to say that my novel got shortlisted for the Guardian "Not The Booker" Prize. https://www.theguardian.com/books/boo...Needless to say a bit chuffed.

Thats a bit of a cross-over with Darren and his thousand-eyed squid deity. Or was it 1000 arms?
My little grandson is fascinated by dinosaurs and fossils. I found him some pictures on his dad’s old iPad - big mistake, he’s obsessed, This morning he switched it on, swiped to the menu and found his pages and an advert popped up. “Oh bog off “ he said grumpily stabbing at the skip ad. I heard at least two generations in that voice. I kicked him out and we went to the park with pockets full of cake and dinosaurs. I’m amazed he’s mastered the technology though - he’s not 4 till November.

Very proud of you Marc! Nice one!Gonna be another full on day today.
We're all gonna be shattered by the end of the week.
Morning all, overcast but dry, feeling tired. Neck not as stiff. Congratulations Marc. It's scary how good children are with technology Lynne
Well done, Marc! No mean feat.We shopped on the way back into Scarborough at a Sainsbury's which had an Argos incorporated. (It's the name of a store, Alicia). I wondered why little'un kept saying 'Argos, Daddy!' till Daddy said there was one on their corner and they moved it to the Sainsbury's. His early walks had included, 'Nearly home. There's Argos!'
