Thanks, Desley. No writing progress, but got a whole chapter serialized up on Patreon so I don't have to worry about that for a while. Haven't been able to get Scrivener back to open the old file, but can create new ones. I'll get there.
Another packing marathon - the boxes are piling up, the donations leaving the house, and we can see the end of it now. Mover is coming to estimate tomorrow.
We are wondering how we got so many things, but the kids needed them - and didn't take them when they left because they were needed here when the kids came home. Someone will be able to use them.

It must be exciting each new place.

Glad you have arrived safely Patti. Do the kids not want any of their stuff back Alicia?

Fortunately wiki has 'formally known as' all over the place so I know where you're going :-)

Writing this morning, ironing this afternoon.

Doing some more sorting last night, I realised just how much stuff youngest has left here. Now I'm not sure what to do with it all.

Glad you arrived safely, Patti."
yep, the world has returned to normal with Patti in a different time zone :-)

had a lovely dinner. couple of stir fry, rice and six glasses of beer. about £7. bought 5 litres of water earlier for 50p. 200 fags are less than £5. I'm liking it here so far!

Evening sun after a damp day. Morrisons are fast becoming our local go-to supermarket. Made a haul of their £4 paperbacks - very unusual for us - and the Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc/Pinot Gris is currently in their 'wine clearance'. Win/win!
Glad you're enjoying yourselves, Patti - are you 4.5 hours in front or are you still in our yesterday?
Congrats, Kelly. Let us know when you become the Guv of the Bank of England ; )

Little grandson is getting a bit cheeky, he told me he didn’t want back toes. (Black toast). I hadn’t a clue, I asked if his feet hurt and he gave me a withering look. He then said clearly, I want perfect toast like mummy makes. Oooooh. That told me. Then asked if we were going to my house to watch the little tele. Had to laugh.

Ha ha, Elizabeth - ooh, wine and books - perfect shopping haul.
Lynne, blimey - that boy knows what he wants - good on him!

I'm on the balcony having a coffee. Dave is still snoring.
I really dislike this app but we could only connect two devices to the WiFi here and I chose my phone.
Meeting one of the other new teachers at breakfast and we're gonna sort out exploring Yangon today.

They took the few good things years ago. They don't want much of ours, especially when they'd have to transport it a long way. We bought them serviceable when they were kids. But not great - their feet and clothing size changed so frequently!
Now that they're stable, and don't have kids, they treat themselves to what they want (as I did when I could). They're careful spenders, but are no longer dealing with growing.

I think the youngest leaves more. Of course, she had the Beanie Babies. And the dance costumes.
They don't have to clear out space for a younger sibling. In our house, the oldest sibling still at home got the huge attic bedroom and private bath.

That is cheeky! I bet her mum wasn't pleased - she could have had all that space for years.
Your grandson will learn to dissimulate soon enough. Meanwhile, 'out of the mouths of babes...'

Are you teaching or will you substitute again?

Enjoy your exploring Patti. Good luck with the stuff Alicia and Will! That's really funny Lynne

Nice day here, park or paddling pool for me.

A group of six of us went for a nice long walk this morning. About six miles down to Inya Lake. Found a nice restaurant for our lunch.
A few of us are going to dinner in a bit.
First day of induction tomorrow. Looking at the schedule, we'll be spending most of the enjoying refreshments. :)

Sorry you are still having family issues Lynne.

Funny how the concept of cleaning toilets escapes some people.

Sorry you keep having to fight this, Desley. Keep playing with your toes - maybe they'll play back. I fight (exercise) mine every day - and can still sort of work them.

EAL - is that something like English as a second language? Or English and American Literature?
Glad you get to teach what you love.

Good morning!
Met a couple more teachers yesterday. We seem to have as many male teachers as we do female, which is great. The IT teacher is also called Dave. Can never have too many, I always say.

Hope you feel better soon Desley.
So glad it is Friday, can't wait to finish today and just relax!

patti, glad you are enjoying it so far.
We have arrived in drought stricken France and it’s rained. We are heading south to Spain, hopefully via the areas of Southern France that are not experiencing biblical floods right now.
Last time we did this it was 2015 and we brought rain and flooding to Drought stricken Italy. It’s a thankless task, bringing the world rain. Still, we have managed to visit Ireland in July without it raining so swings and roundabouts I guess.
Cheers

Hmm, Fire is adding random letters when I press return! Hope you don't take the rain with you, and safe travels. Will have to reply later, tablets inability to spell and use punctuation is annoying!

Have a good day all. Stay safe travelling Mary it looked really bad where they had flash floods.

MT, you are actually supplying an international service and they will probably be commenting on it in drought stricken-areas - "never fear, the British send MTM to us. All will be well." Please miss out the Channel Islands on your way home. It's already raining and grey here with extremely intermittent sunshine!
Yippee-aye-ayyy I am now on annual leave until 28th August. Yee hah. Having a staycation but may venture to Sark, one of the other islands, for a couple of days. No cars, you hire bikes, no streetlights, dirt roads, lovely restaurants and tea-rooms and glorious beaches. May even go to the UK for a few days.
I have shed-loads of stuff to be getting on with but will also chill.
What do you think of the place so far, Patti? You do have an exciting life.

Had a very prompt response from Amazon, apologising, confirming I hadn't been charged and to save any inconvenience, keep the additional item - shame its nothing I can use but the charity have a stall on a flea market

Enjoy your hols Mary and Kelly! I do hope you've got good weather for it.
Really enjoying it here so far. Our new colleagues seem a nice bunch. There's a couple of real characters.
Spending the day at the new school was interesting but the day could have easily been compressed into a couple of hours. Lots of sitting around doing nothing.
They had a doctor come in and talk about healthy living in Myanmar. If we'd not already lived and travelled all over the world, the info could have been quite daunting. Didn't learn anything i didn't already know.
We're meant to go out sightseeing today. Not sure if we will. We're both pretty tired.
