Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dave's gone back to b'wade for a couple days, the weather is vile and I'm being subjected to more shite music.

I may be a tad grumpy.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments Take lime sherbet. Smoosh up with a spoon (careful, it's delicate). Add tequila.

We call them Pepitas - after my mother.

Be careful, tequila like that sneaks up on you.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Morning

Perhaps I should have had a drink last night.

Weirdest thing happened. I was happily engrossed in the final few minutes of the Handmaid's Tale (what a great show it is!) when all of a sudden I came over all clammy and nauseous. Ran into the bog, threw up, was a bit shaky for a few minutes, had a quick shower, felt fine, went to bed.
Feel fine this morning.

No idea what that was about. I had only had a salad sandwich for dinner. Didn't even have dessert.

Really odd. Can only think that perhaps I had a migraine coming on and throwing up stopped it happening.

I'll have to watch the last few minutes of the show on iplayer later today.

Cold and grey here. Doesn't seem to be raining at the moment. I expect it will at some point today.

message 6856: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning everyone. Cool and damp here, but it doesn't look like rain - I think we had our fair share over the weekend.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Morning, had to go to bed early as I still had a headache, seems to have gone but struggled to get up this morning. Has been raining. Hoping for a quiet day.

That sounds unpleasant Patti, glad you are fine today

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Hope every ok.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go back to bed and start the day again sometimes. If I did today I wouldn’t spill the last bit of camomile tea over the bed, I wouldn’t find what I thought was a mouldy grape on daughter’s dining room floor and pick it up to find it had eyes and a beak. I wouldn’t have upset her by reminding her that weren’t going to be permanent child minders indefinitely when she wanted to book next years leave rota.
In fact I wouldnt have got up at all. Thoroughly pissed off doesn’t even come close today. This afternoon is going to be uncomfortable to say the least.

message 6859: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning

I really need to get an early night, kids bedtime has been creeping later and later again thanks to naps on the way home after a day out so I only get time to do my own things once they are asleep. Going to try for an early night tonight...

Hope everybody is feeling better.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Urgh, by the time I got to work, my headache had come back and was feeling sick. Unfortunately I got a text off our temp receptionist saying she couldn’t make it in, so helping out on reception again today.

Sorry you have had such a bad morning Lynne, hope the afternoon goes better! Hope you manage an early night Jud

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I found that I was feeling dodgy in the hot bit because I couldn't get enough fluids in to ameliorate the impact of alcohol and I was dehydrating. Maybe it was something like that Patti?

Jud, hope you got your early night, Desley hope you feel better and Lynne hope everything looks up.

Cheers

MTM

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Well if it doesn’t look up I know where my suitcase is and I’ve dusted it. Seriously.

Tim | 8539 comments Afternoon. Good news: more stuff is staying down, although I'm still confining myself pretty much to liquids. Skin is cooler, and getting a bit less red. :)

Think I'm gonna have to get myself a big laptop, cos no way will I manage to park at a desk for quite some time. Bugger expense!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I was woken yesterday afternoon by a Big Bang from the next door neighbour's place.

Seems he cut through a lead without shutting the power off.

Luckily he was okay.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Morning all, still feel a bit headachy, despite another headache. Blue skies though. Dentist after work.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning. Feeling a bit numb this morning, family row like a thunderstorm, flashes of lightning and growls of thunder. Who on earth said Blessed are the peacemakers? My butt kicked from both side makes me want to bang their heads together. Running away is not an option. I can’t carry my case and cope with the big dog and I’m not leaving him with that lot 😄.
I’ve got the dentist too, tomorrow, the way my life is going it could be the best bit of the week.

message 6876: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'll manage your case, Lynne. I'll get you one like what I've got with four wheels on't bottom.

I'm deleting our old work email accounts from my iPad and it's taking forever.
Gonna free up so much memory, yay!

I've packed probably 3/4 of the stuff I've sorted out to take and haven't used up even half of our allowance. Pleased about that.

message 6879: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning! I was a bit MIA yesterday as I had a minor outpatients procedure in the morning at the local hospital then came home and slept a couple of hours in the aft. Wiped me out. I've bounced back up after a good night's sleep so back to the WIP which was sadly neglected yesterday.
Glad you're feeling a bit more human, Tim. Everyone else, take care.

message 6880: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I noticed you weren't about, Kath. Was gonna chase you if I didn't see you today.

Pleased you're feeling okay.

In the midst of sorting my toiletries/makeup bag to take.

Considering I only wear a bit of eyeliner and mascara, there's an awful lot of stuff in the pile. Sheesh.

message 6881: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning!

So much for getting an early night, now I know why I don't bother. No sooner was I asleep than Nathan woke. This happened at least 3 times.

Glad to hear your leg is improving, Tim! I hope it continues that way.

Hope you are feeling better today, Kath.

I got caught in a downpour yesterday too, Benjamin, thankfully I was on my way home so I was able to change into dry clothes.

Are you definitely drinking enough, Desley? I always get headaches when I start to get dehydrated, it has been a right pain with the warmer weather since we have no kitchen near our office so I can't just get up and get some water whenever I want, I have to traipse through to the house next door.

message 6882: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Don't you have a nice big water bottle to keep on your desk, Jud?
Ah, must remember to pack mine.

message 6883: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Only a 750ml bottle. I sometimes go buy a 2l bottle of sparkling water from the shop across the way though

message 6884: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Drinking sparkling water makes me thirsty. Yeah, I know I'm weird.

Isn't there a bathroom nearby where you can refill your bottle?

I'm gonna miss being able to drink tap water. I've just got used to it again.

message 6885: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments It doesn't have drinking water, it comes from a tank, not the mains

message 6886: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Annoying.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Decided to wear my pretty sandals today rather than the functional ones I have been wearing, will see how good an idea that was later! Although I wore them on Sat and my feet didn’t complain on Sun. I did wonder that on Sun Jud, but I also have a bit of a stiff neck.

Glad your procedure went well Kath. Sorry your early night didn't go as planned Jud. Sorry family situation still an issue Lynne, and that running away isn't an option

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Hi everyone, been trying to catch up on the thread.
I've had a brilliant week or so at home, so good to relax a bit :) heading back tomorrow and back to work Friday.
Narla's doing so much better, eating much nearer what she should be and adoring everyone here!

Spent Sunday in Bury St Edmunds doing the WWI art trail they have around the town. Really recommend it if you're in the area, some lovely pieces.

Taking my Grandad's old bureau back north with me so I'll have a lovely little writing space, might get a bit more done now! So many ideas!

Need to try and drop in more often, sometimes I forget it's been a few days since I've looked and then there's so many posts in here to read!

Hadn't realized how serious this is until I looked it up - 'managing a small amount of solid food' indicates major illness. Glad it's getting better. Hope your spirits are up, too.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments And I tipped a cup of tea all over the carpet.

Good grief.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Well, that was an unpleasant dentist trip, and roadworks made it worse! Waiting for the numbness to go so I can eat, neighbour forgot what I was having done and made me salad!

message 6896: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Alicia, part of the eating problem is a side effect of the drug, nevertheless . . .

It's a disease that sounds trivial cos the name is similar to cellulite. But it really isn't.

message 6897: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments I'm so sorry. The photos and descriptions sounded very painful, too. And the association in most people's mind would be cellulite a cosmetic inconvenience) - if they hadn't known about the disease.

So you have some experience of people minimizing the difficulties you face, on top of dealing with all the rest.

My sympathies. And wishes for a quick recovery.

Any idea of why this happened? Anything you can avoid?

message 6898: by Tim (last edited Jul 31, 2018 05:13PM) (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Yeah, generally the people you get sympathy from are those who have (or know someone with) direct experience. And in a way you kinda wish they didn't.

Just putting your foot on the floor to stand up feels like sticking your leg in a meat grinder, as everything settles. And then of course it takes some time to get comfortable again once you sit down with your leg up on the cushion. Fortunately it got caught early this time so I avoided any of the blistering. But it's still painful at times.

Judging by the timeline, it was probably a tiny scratch from a bag of garden waste I took to the tip last week. I didn't get home very quickly & didn't douse myself in disinfectant the way I usually do. The first time came from a small garden scratch, and I've been paranoid about that ever since.

My new advice to me is: avoid gardening. Period. Pay someone to do it.

message 6899: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments Paying someone to do it will save you time and money in the long run. You are too sensitive - not your fault, but you get the consequences.

Our youngest had asthma attacks when she mowed the lawn. Not worth it.

Don't feel guilty - you'd be being sensible. And saving people worrying about you.

message 6900: by Patti (baconater) (last edited Jul 31, 2018 11:36PM) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You'll need to consider ways of getting good bacteria back into your body after killing everything off with the medication, Tim.

It'll help with your digestion and to fight of any other bugs. I bought tablets off of amazon. Let me find the link...

These are the ones I bought for us, but there are other types available. Amazing how much better we felt after having to kill everything off with cipro.
