Morning all, Woke up early and feel a bit drained. Blue skies again, hoping for a quiet day, last nights meeting got cancelled.Glad Dave's dads surgery went well, sorry Dave struggled with the hearing aids. 35th July, interesting!
Thanks Alicia, I'm okay. Just feeling a bit restless and ready to get to work.
Can't really do any planning or anything until I see what resources are available.
Thinking of asking to be sent curriculum documents and whatnot.

Do you mean a toastie?
Morning!Had an amazing day off work yesterday with the kids, we went to Carrickfergus Castle where I learned that Robert the Bruce invaded Ireland! The kids loved it, I was a bit concerned about taking Nathan with all the stone steps but it was grand. It was a beautiful day so that helped, we then went to Ikea for lunch and a Jump, Jiggle and Jive session. It was so much fun.
Haven't heard about the job yet. But I did get a tax rebate.
Glad Dave's Dad is feeling better! It's a shame that these things happen, the NHS should bring back the bossy Matrons to keep things in line.
Is that a slice of toast between two slices of bread?Morning all! So busy it's just unbelievable. Watering trolley had tyre problems so I've been replacing inner tubes (a whole new experience for me, quite proud of myself) but still spending probablya couple of hours a day watering.
Best wishes to all who need it...
Morning everyone.Off to t'ai chi shortly. Just started again after about six years and the form is slightly different which is causing an inconvenient memory retention problem.
I've always wondered what a grilled cheese sandwich US style is. If it's anything like the efforts they've started selling in Starbucks I prefer the UK version of a cheese toastie.
It's heartening about Dave's dad, Patti - and you're welcome to dinner any time, although I can't always guarantee a gourmet
effort. However, wine goes without saying - unless it's a G&T.

Who doesn't love a cheese and tomato toastie? Or a tuna toastie? Now I'm hungry already!
Yeah, I mean a slice of toast between two slices of bread. What's up with that? Eww
Grilled cheese back home is two heavily buttered slices of bread with processed cheese in the middle then the thing is fried in a skillet until brown.
The butter goes on the outside, of course.
Best way to do it is to butter the bread, lay one slice in the pan, lay the cheese on that slice, then put the other slice on, butter side up.
I like to put some diced onion or tomato slices on the cheese sometimes.
You lot seem to press them into a machine. That's nice too. Can be a bit messy, though.
'Melts' are something different. Tuna melt is nice. It's tuna mayonnaise (known as tuna salad back home) spread on bread, then shredded cheese, usually cheddar, then popped under a grill until all melted and bubbly.
I prefer bacon melt, of course.
That's crispy crumbled streaky bacon, grated cheese, mayo, maybe a bit of mustard powder and a drop of Worcestershire sauce, mixed together and spread on bread then popped under the grill.
You can use ham or chicken instead, of course.
Now I'm really hungry.
Morning, each! Just had home-grown raspberries with yoghurt. Yum. I love high summer. The flower arranging teacher is on her hols this week so the rest of us are going out to lunch! Cat's away and all that.
I love a toasted cheese sandwich - but that fried in the pan processed thing is too greasy.
Brown sauce, no. Grease and sugar, yum.
I'll have to have the bowl of salad that was meant to be my lunch for my dinner.
Perhaps I'll pour some melted butter and ketchup over it.
I've just had lunch and now I want a cheese toastie too. I like ham and cheese with chutney. Yum.Hanging about at Gatwick. I'll be home by 5.30pm. Got up at the equivalent of 3am UK time this morning (5am in Greece) to get an early flight. #shattered!
Glad Dave's dad was perky enough to enjoy his dinner.
Cheese (and tomato or onion) on bread that has been toasted on one side and then put under the grill TickCheese and onion and tomato made into toasties using toastie maker Tick
Toast (both sides toasted) spread with Marmite Tick
Two slices of buttered toast filled with brown sauce and bacon (all fat trimmed off) Tick
Now what am I going to have for my lunch? Unfortunately none of the above.
Good Morning. Hope everyone is well.
Glad you had a great day off Jud. I don't like tuna melt, don't like warm tuna. As I don't like tomatoes, don't like cheese and tomato toasties either. I prefer barbecue ketchup. Ironically my sandwich toaster has lived on the microwave for a while, but when I had to get rid of the microwave last week, I finally put it in the cupboard.Glad you have kind of arrived home safely Kelly.
I didn't get the job but I'm on the reserve list so if another similar post comes up in the next 12 months it'll be mine!Woohoo!
I'm just over the moon that I didn't mess up the interview
That's a result, Jud. Well done. Desley, we used our sandwich toaster twice and it now lives on top of the high kitchen cupboards. I just make toasties with toast!
meanwhile, in the Channel Islands - it's raining, it's pouring . . .
Congrats Jud.Can't believe its raining there Kelly! We were supposed to have some, wish we would, its unbearably stuffy outside, thought I was going to need my inhaler walking to the shop, unfortunately grey cloud has disappeared

Sometimes the person they pick doesn't work out well - or accepts another job. One can hope that it doesn't take too long to get a similar job.
Ah a whole new page! Patti, glad Dave’s dad is doing well. I’m loving the hot weather but at the same time, it would be nice if I could manage about ... I dunno ... a couple of minutes every 24 hours when I’m not totally sweaty. We had a lovely day with friends in a nearby village today, it was well hot there, too but they have a breeze, in town, all is still and I swear you could leave meringues out in our garden and they’d cook.
Just woke up. Didn't go to bed intending to have just a nap. Sheesh.Dunno about eclipse or anything, Lynne. Perhaps smoke in the atmosphere?
Spent the evening at the local out of hours surgery. Turns out I have cellulitis. Oh joy! Fortunately they handed out meds there and then, so no waiting for a pharmacy to open in the morning.
What's celluwhatsis? I'll google. I hope the meds put you right quickly, Tim.Seems there is a 'blood moon lunar eclipse' tonight, Lynne. Just saw the name on the weather forecast. I'll have to google that too.
Rather sticky this morning.
Got lots to do today.
Cellulitis isn’t nice at all. Look after yourself Tim. I hope the clouds clear or we won’t see any eclipse tonight. It’s drizzling here but warm. Little grandson cracked everyone up last night at his other grandparents. They were looking at photos and he was saying things like. That’s me when I was on the beach, that’s me when I was a baby etc when he saw the pregnancy scan, he said “That’s me when I was a fossil”. That’s one for Kath!
Morning all, had a few spots of rain last night but didn't do much. Was really hot overnight and warm already. Hoping our meeting will be cancelled today, petrol and food shopping after workThats hilarious Lynne! Sorry to hear you have cellulitis Tim, hope the meds kick in quickly
Oh, take care, Tim. Haha! Foetus, fossil, near enough for jazz.
Food shopping this morning, then on with the show. Shouldn't need to water. We were woken at half five by huge claps of thunder and a short sharp shower of...
Congratulations Jud, hope you feel better Tim.Morning all. We're due thunderstorms today, apparently.
Tim, that sounds nasty. Hope the meds kick in quick. It's so damp here that it feels like its raining, although I don't think it actually is. At least I haven't needed the hosepipe this morning, though
Tim wrote: "Spent the evening at the local out of hours surgery. Turns out I have cellulitis. Oh joy! I'm sure you told me you'd had it before when I had it few years ago. Hope it's not too painful but at least they were able to initiate you to the Fluclox Clan fast.
PS, it's so chuffing hot and I remembered I asked them to save me a packet of chocolate chip biccies at the Farmer's market so I have to kick McMini into town. It's like trying to force a lump of lead to come to life and then kick it all the way up the hill. Oh for an electric cattle prod. Still never mind, once we've done that all we need to do is tidy up for guests this weekend. Except I've fucked up and have to read the lesson on Sunday which would be OK, except the guests have decided they have to leave by 1.30 so instead of being able to go to church between about 11 and 12.15. I will have to nip up there, read the lesson and then leg it back down so we can have brunch at 11.30.
I must remember what a shit time to leave 1.30 is for when I'm next a guest somewhere. It'll be nice to see them though.
Cheers
MTM
As long as there's not the great long leaving ceremony of saying goodbye in the lounge, at the doorway, outside the car, once they're in the car, waving them down the street...I love my friends and family but sometimes it's like trying to shake the neighbour's chihuahua off your ankle.
It's clouding over well here now. I hope we can get to the supermarket and back before the rain.I've done something to my left arm. Must have slept on it. Sore as hell.
Morning everyone.Rain is due this afternoon but it looks like it may fall any minute.
Last night's dinner was a triumph of ease and tradition - corned beef and chips avec. The latter being tracklements au Vimes.
I don't know anything about cellulitis, Tim, but I hope you're feeling better soon.

Too early to tell yet.
Patti & Elizabeth, it's a bacterial infection in the subcutaneous layers of the skin. There are some pretty gruesome pictures online. I had my own set of pretty gruesome pictures last time. Hoping to avoid that this time (not to mention the 6 weeks off work!). If you don't get it treated, it can kill you.
Suffice to say, I'm now a big fan of the out of hours doctor service -- got seen a lot faster than if I'd tried getting an appointment with my GP!
MorningHope you feel better soon, Tim! I'm so glad it is Friday! I made the cutest wee pair of dungarees last night and I can't wait to get home and take a wee photo with them. Need to think of a cute wee prop to go with them.
Now to make a second pair of dungarees and a dress for Kitty.
How is Dave's Dad today, Patti? and how are you and Dave? It must be hard going on you both too.
My mum had her post op check up yesterday and she got the all clear so the surgery and the chemo got all the cancer. Woohoo!
That's great news, Jud!!!Dave rang the hospital this morning and was told his father had a good night. They'll get him up walking today as long as his blood pressure isn't too low. Dave will go up once more before we fly. Probably on Sunday.
We're both doing okay, thanks. Ready to get out of here and start our new adventure.
Managed to get the shopping in before any rain. The sky is slate grey now.
