Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Thanks for the good thoughts, all.

Fabulous news about the baby, Flo!

Been out for th evening with Dave's best friend and his partner.

I have tummy ache from laughing.

Needed that!

message 6504: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Congratulations on the baby, Flo!

Morning, everyone. I'm entirely sick of summer by now.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments She’s lovely Flo, hope she brings you joy.
It’s grey and cooler this morning.
Just looking at the French papers and I’m pleased they won. The looters and the mobs wrecking cars looked so happy.

message 6506: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments delightfully wet here
Thanks for the good news Flo :-)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments Morning all, sciatica flared up at silly o'clock. Cool here, only in work this morning as I have my injection at 1.30, booked the afternoon off to rest, looks like I'll be doing that inside

That's fantastic news Flo, just what you need

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Wifi is back! Yay!

I wanna catch up with The Handmaid's Tale later. Was concerned I'd not be able to.

Yes Kath. Thank goodness that rubbish is over.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Raini g here properly.OH will be pleased, the garden really needs it.
He’ll probably be moaning though that he got wet on the dog walk.

message 6513: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments No rain here yet, but it's overcast and feels like it'll rain soon.

I hope Dave is in front of it and won't have to drive in wet.

message 6514: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning

We had rain all day yesterday, it made a nice change! It was amazing getting into cold bed sheets last night. Warm and sunny again today though.

It has been a holiday weekend for us so I've been running around the countryside with the kids. We were at a Teddy Bears picnic on Friday and then 2 birthday parties on Saturday and Sunday (a 40th and an 82nd!). I'm properly exhausted, the kids keep falling asleep late in the afternoon on the way home so they are awake until near midnight! I'm glad to be back to work and some routine so we can get earlier nights

Sorry about your brother, Patti.

message 6515: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Thanks Jud.

I'm hoping to hear today that his pain management is better.

He's taking cannabis oil, my big brother tells me.
Thank goodness Canada is progressive like that.

message 6516: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Morning. No rain here. The cracks in the back "lawn" are now over a metre deep . . .

message 6517: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments We sowed a new 'lawn' last back end. It's like a desert with deep cracks - though I've not plumbed them. Normally I would have expected it to be too wet to mow!

message 6518: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ooooooooo. There could be a book in those cracks, Tim.

What sort of creatures may be creeping toward the surface...

message 6519: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Darren's done it. London Dark. Mind you, it didn't start with a 'lawn'. ;)

message 6520: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I don't think that I've recovered from Edge-lit yet. But it was a fun con, and I sold some books and Cds so that was good too

message 6521: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Blimey Patti, I hope things go OK for both of them.

Cheers

MTM

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments Do need to check if my injection doesn’t work do I go back to the doc or the podiatrist. Was disappointed last night to find we only raised £750 on Sat, it was too hot for people to do things like dog agility, which is a big money earner for us. I was glad France won though. Holes were filled in on Fri, and they came yesterday to remove all the barriers, did tell the person who collected them we were impressed with the speed.

Isn't it funny how they are concerned about cannabis oil over here yet they quite happily throw opiate based medication at people. Cannabis oil is probably safer than tramadol.

message 6527: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Hi All,

Congrats on the great grand baby Flo.

I have had to come home after being violently ill at work. I was fine before lunch but then not fine.

I hope you are all having a better afternoon than me right now

message 6528: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh shit, Lindsay.

Yep.

message 6530: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We had about three minutes of light drizzle about an hour ago.

Now the sky is mostly blue, but the temperature has plummeted.

Oh, and apparently our stuff from Baku will be delivered tomorrow. Of course, when Dave wouldn't be here.

Grrrrrr

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments Injection wasn't what I expected, but he was impressed I didn't flinch. He's going to request a follow up for 6-8 weeks to check but any issues in the meantime, go back to him. Looking at Prime Day deals, think I'm going to get a Fire Stick

Hope you are OK Lindsay

message 6532: by Jim (new)

message 6534: by Lynne (Tigger's Mum) (last edited Jul 16, 2018 01:08PM) (new)

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments I’ve got some hemp oil - cannabis sativa (chanvre) in France for salad oil. It’s got a distinctive taste,
CBD oil is sold in the Uk but I don’t think it’s as strong as the medical quality Holland & Barrett even sell it. There’s no THC in it.

On Saturday Bastille day, there were nearly 900 cars burned in France, as they do when they get over excited
. After the football on Sunday in one Paris area Île de France they burned 145 cars, and 2 people died in the ‘celebrations
There were some awful scenes of fighting and looting in several cities.

Sometimes you just have to get it out. They should be impressed at the new job that you were there when not feeling well.

message 6539: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

Awake since 4. Argh. Can never sleep when Dave's away.

Hope you're all better today Lindsay. Was it something you ate for lunch, do you think?

Will be nice once the shipping has been delivered and I've got it organised.
I'm hoping I can find places for most of it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments Morning all, got woken up early by cats. Foot isn't sore but a bit of a dull ache. Had lots of rain last night but dry this morning.

Hope you are feeling better today Lindsay. So sad that people died in France Lynne

message 6541: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning!

Here's the link to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FoxandMango/...
I'm still getting set up and I'll need to buy some more fabric but I've already had an order :o) I'm so excited

I hope you are feeling better today, Lindsay

message 6542: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all. Grey and damp today - the heat has finally broken, which I'm not at all sorry to see.

Hope you feel better, Lindsay.

message 6543: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments It's cooler here but there is still no rain. Not even damp.

message 6544: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning. Love your FB page, Jud! Especially that t-shirt with the last of the bus/car fabric!

Tippled down with rain last night and the garden is looking happier for it. Sunny again, and I'm promised a seaside fish and chip lunch. :)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Morning

We had rain yesterday. It was so nice. But we still have a hosepipe ban.

Best wishes to all poorly people. And congrats to Flo with the second great granddaughter. Mum had her first last week (and my niece says that Eleanora Arwen Maria will be an only child)

We have had a fraught week (is that the right word?)
Mum has started having panic attacks - one was so bad that we ended up at the hospital.

Jud - I like the look of your facebook page, I'm going to pass it on to my niece to look at. I am tempted to buy something for Eleanora.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's. So. Cold!

message 6547: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments It’s still hot here but the wind is cool so I have just about every door and window open to change the hot air in the house before the breeze warms up.

Congrats Flo and Lindsay get well soon, I’ve been suffering from something which is, thank heavens, going away now. I think there’s a lot of stomach stuff about.

Sitting in our conservatory and there’s a bumble bee the size of a vole trapped in here with me. I can’t get to it because it’s right up top. I did try by standing on the table with a mop. Got it to sit on a mop and got halfway to the door with it but it flew up into the top again. Might try honeyed mop after lunch but I have to stand on the table and it’s a little tricky with vertigo.

Great the little bastard’s just weed on me! Oh and there’s a wasp, too. Jolly Dee.

Cheers all

MTM

I need to make a few more things to put up on the page. It's a bit bare at the minute

message 6550: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Janet, I am keeping the options simple until I get set up a bit more but I am happy to offer other items, like pretty dresses to people I know. for example, I have a gorgeous pattern for a dress with 3 bows down the back and other more simple dresses.
