Morning everyone. On annual leave this week, got a bit of overtime tomorrow but it sounds like it should be fun, not the usual shift!Narla goes in for her surgery on Thursday, looking forward to having her back snuggled up, trying not to think about it beforehand. She's been a little star taking her tablets... until last night. She won last night, I won the battle of wills this morning!!
All my coursework's in so I've got time to read and write now :)
So sorry to hear about Flo :(
Hope Dave's dad's appt goes well Patti.
Morning! Back in harness after a few days with daughter Jenny and family. Change for it not to be raining there!
Made a trip to the charity shop and the skip. I can finally see part of the floor in the spare bedroom!Until the shipping from Baku arrives, anyway.
Gonna have a quiet afternoon, I think.
Thanks for passing on our condolences to Flo, Patti. And hope all goes okay with Dave's dad's appointment. It's been raining again here and decidedly cooler. I've been writing using dictation this lunch hour. Eh, I can talk and talk and talk . . .

It wasn't anything even remotely interesting.

Oh yes we are!
OK group, it's open speculation time....As a horror writer, I'm going for a Chuthulic ritual gone wrong.
I reckon she broke it jumping up to smush a spider on the ceiling.Took me an hour but I finally convinced Dave to
a) buy new school clothes
b) not buy cheap crap
c) order them online and have them delivered
It was worth the argument.
I think there will be a lot more fun from listening to your wild theories than actually telling the truth :)

summoning Azathoth as the cheaper and cleaner alternative to using nukes?

No, they really don't. Off out to give a talk to the local Rotary Club. I'm getting a meal out of it :)
Much better prospect than the stupid football, Rosemary.Your tummy must be better, then?
Break a leg!
Rang podiatry at lunch to be told the computer system was down but they'd ring back. Took 2 hours, apparently my letter is in the post, but she could tell me its booked for 1.30 on 16th, but I can't drive for 12 hours after, so will probably end up with the afternoon off, not a bad thing as I have no idea how I'll react. New boiler looks great, smaller than the old one, but he didn't fix my toilet as he noticed another problem with it, but he will come back next week.
We're waiting for something from the gov't. Supposed to take 14 business days. Gave them 16. Rang today. On hold for 23 minutes.
Told to ring back Friday.

hah
a government doing stuff for people
where did you ever get that idea from?
Being born in and living in Canada for most of my life spoiled me, Jim.Our gov't isn't perfect, but at least it's easy to get necessary information and help in a timely manner, even from overseas.

The British government has never really seen any need to do anything for its citizens. :-(
You'd think they'd want to keep the tax payers happy. Or do they get their money from other sources?
Condolences to Flo. Yes, read that people flying helicopters to dump water on the fires have seen five or so people starting more .... awful.
I will be horribly erratic for days or weeks, as I have updated my Mac's software, lost all my mail and bookmarks and password/logins, and am slowly trying to put things back together.I did this because the storage space on my internal hard drive kept going to very small numbers and I can't seem to clean out the 'Other' category of storage - no clue what it is, and I've deleted so many files it isn't even funny any more.
Maybe some day I'll be casual about it again.
Good morning, it seems slightly cooler and cloudier this morning. It’s our wedding anniversary today. Nothing planned at the moment as I’m on grandson duty today. I’ve got food organised for dinner later, we’d both rather eat well at home than get all polished up to go out in this heat. We’d have to shut the house windows etc so dogs wouldn’t be very cool either so it’s a better option.

Am I wrong?

Poor Flo, that’s hard. Send her my love too.
Good morning!Cooler here, too. At the moment anyway.
Gotta go to two shops to collect parcels and stay in for a delivery.
Not sure how I'm gonna manage that.
Morning all, disturbed night sleep, glad I woke up early as the alarm didn't work. Cooler here, committee meeting after work, at some point I need to put the kitchen straightThat will be challenging Patti! Happy wedding anniversary Lynne, I'd do the same
Morning! We were a sleepy household this morning. Nathan was so out of it that I managed to get him completely changed without him waking up. Kathleen took a while to come round but at least she was awake when we dressed her.
I need an early night but I have so much to do!! Really didn't need a two hour GB meeting last night :o( it was 22.50 before I was putting Nathan into his cot. Poor kid.
Morning, everyone. Slightly cooler here as well but I'm not confident of a break in the heatwave.Happy anniversary, Lynne!
Happy wedding anniversary, Lynne (if that's not an oxymoron)Much cooler here today, thankfully - but it was very humid when I was doing the outside stuff after getting up.
Did some football happen yesterday? We went for fish and chips at Saundersfoot to avoid that and the tennis.
Morning! Happy Anniversary, Lynne. We'd rather eat at home too. You don't have to drive home, either.Bitty sort of a day in prospect. Catching up with things. Oh, and I need to make a savoury item for the cake club tomorrow.
