I'm about to go out for a walk on the beach. It better not rain here!

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Afternoon all,

Spent the morning out in the garden with the boy. It is really hot. barely a cloud in the sky. He has just gone down for a nap so i am having a little sit down with a cold sparkling water and the internet!

Hope you are all having a good Sunday

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments We’ve had a bit of rain, just enough to wet the pavements. It’s cloudy too.

Les | 266 comments Sunny and roasting here in NE Scotland. Beer in the garden weather

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments We had cloud and wind, but managed to get to sit out in the sun, finished one book and started a second, very nice way to spend a Sun pm. Made the bed, just got to finish the washing up.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Just been out for a walk along the seafront and a meal with a friend. Warm and sunny but a nice fresh breeze :)

I meant to wash the bedding today.

Oh well.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Thanks Kath.

Sorry you're unwell Rosemary.

I'm so sick of football.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Is there football on?

message 6113: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning all. Cat finally reappeared at 4am, thin and dehydrated. I'm keeping an eye on him.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Morning all, poor puss must have been shut in somewhere!
Don't know what's wrong with my belly but the shivers seem to have passed at least.

message 6115: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Two bits of somewhat good news to wake up to.

Would be nice if the cat could explain itself, eh?

I hope your tummy comes completely right today Rosemary.

We have a couple of appointments in Cardiff today.

I'll be glad when all of this running around is behind us.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments Morning all, quiet day at work, then got a plumber coming after work to see if I am eligible for his boiler deal.

Glad the cat is back Benjamin, with the heat it might be worth speaking to the vet about the dehydration, glad you are feeling a but better R

message 6117: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments We were promised some thunderstorms yesterday. I left the festival in time to see them, and the blasted things arrived early: twelve miles away in the car, I didn't even see or hear them. Disappointed.

(On the plus side, the storytelling gig went well. I even sold some cd s afterwards.)

message 6118: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yay, Will!

Wish we could have been there.

message 6119: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning!

Back in work after a lovely, sunny weekend off. It's still sunny here too, we have had not a drop of rain. Funny how the water board are now frantically trying to fix all the leaking pipes in the water system. Our church has been telling them for month about the one just outside and they haven't done a thing until yesterday. They were actually working on a Sunday!

Good to see the cat turned up Benjamin.
Sorry about your hand Kellie, I hope it isn't giving you too much bother today.
That's great that your book gig went well, Will. Shame about the thunderstorms, I was disappointed with our last promise of thunderstorms too.
Hope you're feeling better today Rosemary.

glad it went well.
I know the sheer amount of work that's gone into it

message 6121: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I'm not sure it counts as work - it was too much fun.

Next up, The National Botanical Gardens of Wales Storytelling weekend in a couple of weeks' time

message 6122: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Well done, Will. Glad you enjoyed it.

Rosemary, I haven't "heard" affa sair" in a long time (over 30 years). I heard it in my head with a Scottish accent. Glad you are on the mend.

Benjamin, that is great news re the cat. They don't half give us a worry sometimes.

Thanks Jud, hand is still aching but I am trying to rest it and use my Dragon speech to text.

Right, time to do some writing work before my lunch hour is over.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Is anyone else disgusted by this?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...

Not by nature violent men?! Yes, because having masked thugs on hand and sending your son to go and fetch them is the epitomy of having a passive nature.

message 6124: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Afternoon everyone.

The sun continues and there is a welcome breeze at the mo'.

The Ayrshire new are in the shops, Kelly - we've had a couple of meals including them already.

The laptop is showing a 'battery undetected' message - so it looks like a trip to Curry's (himself's preferred option as that's where he bought it).

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Yeh, I’m not impressed. You don’t do 1984 on people like that. I’m guessing that the hunt has had a lot of sabs following/tracking them and that certain members were beginning to feel persecuted. Still no excuse for that kind of stuff.

Cheers

Can't have those oiks interferin' with the Establishment at play, can you, Judge? Sounds commensurate behaviour by peaceful men who spend their time huntin' down and rippin' apart foxes for our fun. Do see them right, or we'll have to chuck them and their families out on the street, won't we? (Loyalty is what we demand, not what we give.)

Anyway, see them right, so we don't see them wrong on top. Much love, come to lunch with the Wife week Sunday.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12599 comments I actually watched the most football I’ve seen this world cup, my TV show finished last night and the Croatia/Denmark game was just going to penalties, can’t resist watching a penalty shootout. Doing exercises certainly seems to have helped with my hip/leg, it’s just certain positions I can’t sit in now, but so much better, so I clearly remembered them fairly well. Boiler man messaged to say he's had a cancellation, so may be able to fit me in tomorrow!! Just booked flights to Jersey in September, need to book tickets for Peter James now.

Desley. the Festival of Words tickets aren't on sale yet. I will be going to see Peter James too. Be great to say hi.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I took a walk at lunchtime to the local fabric shop and came away with some unicorn fleece to make a mermaid blanket for a little girl who wants to be a mermaid :o) It'll be her 4th birthday present, I hope she likes it.

That put me in a good mood.

Then I got back to work and I've been cross checking details on peoples accounts and I feel a bit fuzzy around the eyes now

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dave sez I have to wait n see how his father is. Fair enough.

His father has an appointment on Wednesday that will hopefully show the extent of the bowel cancer and will determine the treatment options.

Also, we still haven't booked our flights to Yangon nor any sort of holiday.

Having said that, we are making good headway on the to do list.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Sad, sad news, group.

I know we've all been wondering where our lovely Flo has been.

I've just discovered that she lost her husband recently.

I know we'll all be sending her our kindest thoughts.

That explains why I can't find much. I'm not sure whether to book Peter James yet. Would be great to say hi. Boiler man is fitting it tomorrow, luckily the way the electrican fitted my honeywell system means it can go on the new boiler. Just need to empty some stuff from the kitchen now. Was very annoyed to read people have been spotted setting more fires on Winter Hill, can't write what I think of them

Terribly sad news about Flo. I do hope she is doing as well as can be expected at a time like this.

re fires Desley - YTF? Mental health problems or no sense of moral responsibility I guess.

At times like this it can be important to know people want to support you, but without being deluged with stuff

I'll pass a message from the group on to Flo later today.

There's a bit of a chilly breeze here this morning. Rather nice.

Thank you for passing our condolences on Patti
