M.T. wrote: "I swear mine is a closet teenager. McMini’s sleep in record, aged two, was 10.00 am. Both of us really struggle in the mornings."That explains everything: the two of you are chronically sleep-deprived. No one is rational who is sleep-deprived.
Jay-me (Janet) wrote: "Patti (baconater) wrote: "You should just type away and let us enjoy trying to decipher your posts, Janet."OK I will. Next time I'm attempting to post something

If the desktop version goes, it will be the end of my participation unless there is a way to plug the tiny screen into my huge monitor, and my proper keyboard into the mobile. Elitists!
I hate the way the threads are listed on the app, I don't understand why they don't open with the most recent comments rather than showing the oldest ones and even if you switch it around then it clears the "new" comment so you have no idea where the new ones are. Unless they have fixed this.If they made the threads a bit more usable then I would be happy enough. I just use the app to track the books I'm reading.
I only use the desktop version as well - the mobile site/app don't display half the links or site functions properly.
At this rate, my sleep deficit may be sorted by August. All of my teacher friends seem to be planning two hour nap times into their days, no matter where in the world they've travelled to, nor what they're doing.
Funny, I've now had two very real dreams of trying to sort my timetable to fit in planning meetings with all the year groups I'm going to be teaching next year.
At this rate, it'll be dead easy by the time I actually have to do it.
M.T. wrote: "I loathe and detest the Goodreads app. If they get rid of the desktop site, I don’t see the point."Ditto. Luckily the plastics company fire was dealt with quickly and we are far enough away from the moors. I wish I could sort my sleep deficit, neighbour says I must be getting enough but then why do I feel drained, headachy or sick?
Attitude, Desley?I may have left my strawberry shortcake on the table too long before I started eating it.
Nevermind. Strawberry mush is nice.

Nobody needs that image Patti!
Well, I have well and truly @%#!!! my right hand - wrist, actual hand and index finger are aching, aching, aching Arrrggghhhhh. Been to the doc a week or so ago - he gave me some tablets that haven't worked. Now need to go for an x-ray.
Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "I wish I could sort my sleep deficit, neighbour says I must be getting enough but then why do I feel drained, headachy or sick?"According to a book on sleep I read a while back if you drop off to sleep quickly, then wake later on you are very sleep deprived.
Kelly wrote: "Well, I have well and truly @%#!!! my right hand - wrist, actual hand and index finger are aching, aching, aching Arrrggghhhhh. Been to the doc a week or so ago - he gave me some tablets that haven..."Oh dear, hope they can sort it out without too much delay.

*waves hand*
Not enough sleep here either - I blame the warm nights.Hope your hand isn't broken, Kelly.
And that you feel better soon, Desley.
Morning, all.
Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "Patti (baconater) wrote: "Attitude, Desley??"
Whoops, missed this, sorry Desley.
I meant is your neighbour giving you attitude? Perhaps that's too Canadian a saying.
Kelly wrote: "Well, I have well and truly @%#!!! my right hand - wrist, actual hand and index finger are aching, aching, aching Arrrggghhhhh. FOGBeen out watering at the station. Commuters are a cheery bunch aren't they? *sarcastic emoticon here*
Where's the coffee? 4am one has worn off
Just about to go into the kitchen to pour my second cup. Should be enough for you as well. Dave can go without. ;)
Sunny here. Desley, have you had your boiler checked. Friend of mine felt ill, whole family were ill and they discovered they had a dose CO2 poisoning from a dodgy boiler.
Ah, never told you lot this one...We had a co2 detector in our flat in Baku. Would go off every time we switched it on. We were told it was defective, we had no gas leak. I fought for months to get it replaced. Never happened.
New maintenance company took over. I immediately had them come and safety check the flat.
We'd had a gas leak for years.
So, yeah.
Yeah, fog. It's so thick that the leaves are collecting it and doing that drippy under the tree thing. You wouldn't know there were any islands in the Forth and the Law has completely vanished.
M.T. wrote: "Sunny here. Desley, have you had your boiler checked. Warm here, hopefully an easy day at work, knee is hurting too today. Will post properly later, but good luck with your hand Kelly
MorningI'm getting a breakfast panini today, got lots of work to get on with for a change and the sun is shining. What more could you ask for. Hope it is still sunny tomorrow
Morning everyone.Gloriously sunny here and has been for the whole week (31 degrees yesterday). Perhaps you should move to the West of Scotland, Rosemary?! Although last year I swear there was rain every day from May onwards.
I like Asda's best baguettes, mainly because there's no soggy lump of dough inside when they're pulled apart.
I don't use the GR app. either - will we all be decamping and finding another home?
Good to know you seem to have fallen on your feet, Lindsay.
All the best to everyone with moving and health issues - I know that's lazy, but 169 posts later...
Kath wrote: "Morning! East Yorkshire is a pinnacle of gorgeousness again. Can't complain."does East Yorkshire actually have any pinnacles? :-)
I just discovered there's a country (WI) market in Bury on Wednesdays and Fridays. Bought some chocolate chip biscuits this morning. They are divine. Cheers

Never thought I’d say how hot and sunny it is again in Wales. It’s been amazing. So calm, no wind and 26° the shade.
Went down to Aberaeron harbour last night, to see an unusual sailing ship come in. Very old wooden commercial ship, a top mast yawl. Not sure I would care to have sailed that across the North Sea and round Britain, mind.
OMG! Bought a whole load of books on the wrong amazon account when they were on offer. Didn't want to give them back and pay full price. Finally worked out how to make an amazon family and link them. Woot! Now they're all on my Kindle account and I can read them.
M.T. wrote: "Sunny here. Desley, have you had your boiler checked. Also, a gas leak - you can smell the chemical, mercaptan, that is added to natural gas (at least here in the States) so you can smell it - can be deadly.
I've heard of social media sites which suddenly disappear, taking years of conversations and comments and connections with them, never to be seen again.Which reminds me to back up my Wordpress blogs.
So many things on the to do list; can't get up enough enthusiasm do do any of them unless they are desperately required.
Not sure if attitude is the right word Patti, but there is a definite lack of sympathy from my neighbour, as she has a back problem that affects her sleeping. Can’t believe we have another fire in the area, luckily the only thing it is near is the TV mast that provides the signal for the area. I do however feel for all the wildlife on the two moorland areas that are on fire, especially as they have arrested someone on suspicion of arson for the second – seems that is also a high peat area. It’s very rare I drop off to sleep quickly, I normally either struggle and sleep through, or fairly easily and wake up early, but if I sleep through, I often wake up feeling like I haven’t had any sleep. Probably doesn’t help that I wake up in pain most days. What annoys me the most is waking up earlier than the alarm on a weekend, although I can’t remember the last time the alarm woke me up during the week. What do you think you have done to your hand Kelly?

I write all my blogs as word documents and are stored :-)
It was remarkably easy - under the Admin heading on the dashboard is 'Export' - and now they're both backed up.Whew!
