If the desktop version goes, it will be the end of my participation unless there is a way to plug the tiny screen into my huge monitor, and my proper keyboard into the mobile. Elitists!

message 6005: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I hate the way the threads are listed on the app, I don't understand why they don't open with the most recent comments rather than showing the oldest ones and even if you switch it around then it clears the "new" comment so you have no idea where the new ones are. Unless they have fixed this.

If they made the threads a bit more usable then I would be happy enough. I just use the app to track the books I'm reading.

message 6006: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) I only use the desktop version as well - the mobile site/app don't display half the links or site functions properly.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments At this rate, my sleep deficit may be sorted by August.

All of my teacher friends seem to be planning two hour nap times into their days, no matter where in the world they've travelled to, nor what they're doing.

Funny, I've now had two very real dreams of trying to sort my timetable to fit in planning meetings with all the year groups I'm going to be teaching next year.
At this rate, it'll be dead easy by the time I actually have to do it.

Ditto. Luckily the plastics company fire was dealt with quickly and we are far enough away from the moors. I wish I could sort my sleep deficit, neighbour says I must be getting enough but then why do I feel drained, headachy or sick?

According to a book on sleep I read a while back if you drop off to sleep quickly, then wake later on you are very sleep deprived.

Did you do something to it or has it gone bad on its own? I hope it comes right (see what I did there?) quickly!

message 6026: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ah, never told you lot this one...

We had a co2 detector in our flat in Baku. Would go off every time we switched it on. We were told it was defective, we had no gas leak. I fought for months to get it replaced. Never happened.

New maintenance company took over. I immediately had them come and safety check the flat.

We'd had a gas leak for years.

So, yeah.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Yeah, fog. It's so thick that the leaves are collecting it and doing that drippy under the tree thing. You wouldn't know there were any islands in the Forth and the Law has completely vanished.

I have contemplated that, boiler needs replacing, I just haven't got round to it. Warm here, hopefully an easy day at work, knee is hurting too today. Will post properly later, but good luck with your hand Kelly

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Morning everyone.

Gloriously sunny here and has been for the whole week (31 degrees yesterday). Perhaps you should move to the West of Scotland, Rosemary?! Although last year I swear there was rain every day from May onwards.

I like Asda's best baguettes, mainly because there's no soggy lump of dough inside when they're pulled apart.

I don't use the GR app. either - will we all be decamping and finding another home?

Good to know you seem to have fallen on your feet, Lindsay.

All the best to everyone with moving and health issues - I know that's lazy, but 169 posts later...

Not sure I would care to have sailed that across the North Sea and round Britain, mind.

I hope you mean CO. Also, a gas leak - you can smell the chemical, mercaptan, that is added to natural gas (at least here in the States) so you can smell it - can be deadly.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments I've heard of social media sites which suddenly disappear, taking years of conversations and comments and connections with them, never to be seen again.

Which reminds me to back up my Wordpress blogs.

So many things on the to do list; can't get up enough enthusiasm do do any of them unless they are desperately required.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12598 comments Not sure if attitude is the right word Patti, but there is a definite lack of sympathy from my neighbour, as she has a back problem that affects her sleeping. Can’t believe we have another fire in the area, luckily the only thing it is near is the TV mast that provides the signal for the area. I do however feel for all the wildlife on the two moorland areas that are on fire, especially as they have arrested someone on suspicion of arson for the second – seems that is also a high peat area. It’s very rare I drop off to sleep quickly, I normally either struggle and sleep through, or fairly easily and wake up early, but if I sleep through, I often wake up feeling like I haven’t had any sleep. Probably doesn’t help that I wake up in pain most days. What annoys me the most is waking up earlier than the alarm on a weekend, although I can’t remember the last time the alarm woke me up during the week. What do you think you have done to your hand Kelly?

I think it may be starting to recede a bit.

I did consider having the filling without a local, as I've done in the past. Wish I had.
