we've had a bit of a poke around :-)
When Lambert Simnel invaded his army marched down our lane.
Yes, but did he fly tip?Think I'll drag Dave out to some national Trust gardens today.
I'm hoping the roses will still be in bloom.
Anyone know if they will be?
Morning all, sun is shining. Quiet day in the office. Wow Jim, makes my house seem young, was only built in 1890! That is cheap Patti.
Alicia wrote: "Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "Raining again here and has been really windy since about 9 last night. Really should look into a cleaner though, especially with my plans for the foster cats
My roses are full out. I'm sure those at St Fagan's will be. It's where I first caught the whiff of Cecile Brunner which I now have in the front garden.Morning. No sunrise pic but I have three of the most amazing sunset last night. Looked as if Beverley was on fire.
Morning everyone.Sunny and windy here. Our roses are in bloom - although most of the petals have been distributed around the garden.
Your home sounds intriguing, Jim. I did dig a polo shirt button out of the cottage garden but that was the limit of mystery.
What are you planning, Desley? I assume it won't keep you on your foot any more than necessary!
Supermarket run today which will be stressful as himself asks me whether we need every item on the shelves as we pass by and gets irritated when I keep saying 'it's not on the list'.

The absence of muggles is appealing, but, alas, it doesn't look as though I'm going to get to the States in this lifetime.

When it was built North America was a mixture of tribes who might have been debating the theoretical concept of the wheel, Russia was the Grand Duchy of Moscow, Germany and Italy were geographical concepts and the Spanish Empire was the European super power
In China the Ming were becoming isolationist whilst Akbar the Great was Mughal emperor
I know I'm a crusty old cob but does anyone else find the banners annoying? Hottest books of the summer - not interested thanks! It's like fashions in clothing. Want to be like everyone else? Certainly not!
Gareth's mum took him to see the cottage she grew up in and it is a tumbled down ruins now. You wouldn't think it was only lived in a generation ago.
Just got my time for my race last night, I did it in 56:23! I'm so happy, I never dreamed I would run that quick. I thought I would be nearer 60 minutes, if not over. It's no wonder I struggled a bit, I was running at a faster pace than I have ever run before.

Did he leave any cakes behind?

I find the banners annoying, but no more than a half-dozen other Goodreads quirks (like the way they don't update book information in real-time, for instance)
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Dave tells me England won.No idea why he told me. I don't care.
Yes, our new adventure will be very fun. We're not going to Cyprus, after all.
We got a much better offer.
Myanmar."
Wow but ... um ... isn’t there a civil war going on there right now?
Oh hang on, no, page has refreshed and a whole load of new posts have appeared including the one where Patti says there isn’t a war on. Although as I understand it, the Myanmar state has a fairly enthusiastic attitude to ethnic cleansing. It probably is safer there than Nigeria though and on our list of places to go when McMini is a bit bigger.Cheers

Well, my foster cats don't like humans anymore than they did when I got them, so the plan is to build an enclosure outside their (upstairs) window, so I can keep them - Lucy dislikes other cats and will draw blood when she gets annoyed, so it will be challenging, and time consuming. Do need to get the rescue to agree first.
That's great news Jud.
Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "Really should look into a cleaner though, especially with my plans for the foster cats..."The way I look at it, only you can do the fostering; almost anyone can do the cleaning (or enough of it to be a big help). Save your energies for the things you really want to do.
Which is why I can write in the midst of utter chaos.
Kath wrote: "I know I'm a crusty old cob but does anyone else find the banners annoying? Hottest books of the summer - not interested thanks! It's like fashions in clothing. Jay-me (Janet) wrote: "I've adblocked it away..."Thank you!
Never occurred to me, and it was dirt simple.

I suspect the locals hid important things such as livestock and daughters when he arrived!
There's a thread in the feedback group about the banner. Loads of people dislike it.Had a lovely few hours at Duffryn Gardens. The roses were a bit overblown but smelled wonderful.
It was so peaceful there. Just me n Dave and a few OAPs pushing Zimmer frames. We had the place to ourselves wherever there were steps. ;)

and there were already four universities in Scotland (two of them in Aberdeen) :)
It was hot today. An dwindy! WINDY

And Wales had a University before that, too...
I've just been added to the list of performers at the Unearthed Festival in Pembrokeshire weekend after next. From the photos of last year's, it looks entirely my sort of event

Frick. I've gotta be a wedding.

Didn't know you could do that

Thank you. Another to read to the foster cats, after Jim's, they like his blog posts so will hopefully like his book too

It's a bit like some work that was done which came to the conclusion dairy cows preferred Mozart to be played in the milking parlour :-)
These two do, Lucy doesn't always appreciate being spoken to. I think they prefer your sheep ones. I read them MT's too, but i laugh too much through some of those. Interesting music choice, cats are supposed to like classical music.
Other tests with cows showed they preferred radio 2 over radio 1it may be they like easy listening and not too much frantic speech :-)
I prefer radio 4. I've a friend who cranks up radio 2 the moment she wakes and leaves it on all day. Not something I enjoy with my morning coffee when we visit them.
Dave's father is undergoing the tests today. I hope he'll get the results in a timely manner. He's very worried, which is not helping his mental state, especially as he's still in deep mourning.
Dave's brother will be with him during the tests and Dave is driving up and will spend the weekend with him, which will hopefully make him feel a bit more settled.
We've not told him about Myanmar yet. We want to do it in person, of course. Might tell him this weekend, depending on how he's feeling. He's always very excited about our travels and has a world atlas that's he's spent years marking up with where we've been, etc, so it may be a pleasant diversion for him.
On a happy note, I slept a full eight hours! In the night time! Getting out for some sunshine and exercise yesterday really helped, I think.
And the sun is shining today, too!
Morning all, sunny but got really sore feet. Hoping for an easy day at work, need to get petrol and food shopping after work.I think thats probably right Jim. My foster cats have the radio on all day, I make them listen to Absolute 90's. Fingers crossed for Dave's dad Patti. Glad you got some sleep

I'm a radio 4 person as well
Hope things goes well for Dave's Dad

I think it's the easy listening. With reading to them I think they're happy just to hear the familiar voice. It's comforting, almost like purring
And of course they appreciate fine literature ;-)
All nice people are R4 people. I've never knowingly listened to Rs 1&2. I have no gap in my life that I need them to fill.Pompous old fart mode this morning! And it's sunny and I'm off to pick up my new reading glasses.
Morning all. Nice and sunny here and I'm already falling asleep.I listen to R4 sometimes and R2 sometimes - depending on who's presenting. Both have their moments!
Hope Dave's dad is okay, Patti.
I don't listen to the radio, it just annoys my ears. I like peace.Morning all. Busy day arting today.
I used to listen to R3 & R4 all the time - but not necessarily at the same timeNowadays I listen to those bits I like of R4 as podcasts, and usually have http://www.radioswissclassic.ch/en/we... going when I'm on the computer.

It's 29 June to 1 July, Patti, for the festival. Don't know yet what day i'm on. July 7 is Edge lit. So you have more time than you thought to choose your hat for the wedding!
