Sunny and windy here. Our roses are in bloom - although most of the petals have been distributed around the garden.

Your home sounds intriguing, Jim. I did dig a polo shirt button out of the cottage garden but that was the limit of mystery.

What are you planning, Desley? I assume it won't keep you on your foot any more than necessary!

Supermarket run today which will be stressful as himself asks me whether we need every item on the shelves as we pass by and gets irritated when I keep saying 'it's not on the list'.

Just got my time for my race last night, I did it in 56:23! I'm so happy, I never dreamed I would run that quick. I thought I would be nearer 60 minutes, if not over. It's no wonder I struggled a bit, I was running at a faster pace than I have ever run before.

I find the banners annoying, but no more than a half-dozen other Goodreads quirks (like the way they don't update book information in real-time, for instance)

Oh hang on, no, page has refreshed and a whole load of new posts have appeared including the one where Patti says there isn’t a war on. Although as I understand it, the Myanmar state has a fairly enthusiastic attitude to ethnic cleansing. It probably is safer there than Nigeria though and on our list of places to go when McMini is a bit bigger.

Well, my foster cats don't like humans anymore than they did when I got them, so the plan is to build an enclosure outside their (upstairs) window, so I can keep them - Lucy dislikes other cats and will draw blood when she gets annoyed, so it will be challenging, and time consuming. Do need to get the rescue to agree first.

The way I look at it, only you can do the fostering; almost anyone can do the cleaning (or enough of it to be a big help). Save your energies for the things you really want to do.

There's a thread in the feedback group about the banner. Loads of people dislike it.

Had a lovely few hours at Duffryn Gardens. The roses were a bit overblown but smelled wonderful.

It was so peaceful there. Just me n Dave and a few OAPs pushing Zimmer frames. We had the place to ourselves wherever there were steps. ;)

These two do, Lucy doesn't always appreciate being spoken to. I think they prefer your sheep ones. I read them MT's too, but i laugh too much through some of those. Interesting music choice, cats are supposed to like classical music.

I've a friend who cranks up radio 2 the moment she wakes and leaves it on all day. Not something I enjoy with my morning coffee when we visit them.

Dave's father is undergoing the tests today. I hope he'll get the results in a timely manner. He's very worried, which is not helping his mental state, especially as he's still in deep mourning.
Dave's brother will be with him during the tests and Dave is driving up and will spend the weekend with him, which will hopefully make him feel a bit more settled.
We've not told him about Myanmar yet. We want to do it in person, of course. Might tell him this weekend, depending on how he's feeling. He's always very excited about our travels and has a world atlas that's he's spent years marking up with where we've been, etc, so it may be a pleasant diversion for him.

On a happy note, I slept a full eight hours! In the night time! Getting out for some sunshine and exercise yesterday really helped, I think.
And the sun is shining today, too!

I think it's the easy listening. With reading to them I think they're happy just to hear the familiar voice. It's comforting, almost like purring
