Best of luck, Jud! I did my first last year, and it's no small distance.
Glad to hear Narla's taking her medicine, Claire.
Best of luck Jud. If it's on a circuit be careful! First time I ran a marathon I was only planning to do a half marathon. Problem was the finish line was half way round the full marathon course and I was being cheered on so much that I was too embarrassed to stop! Carried on for the full marathon and got severe rocks for being late home (as well as being extra knackered!!)

I did a rough 10k last week and it was okay (I didn't die) and I'm going to try and do similar tonight.
It is a circuit, LA and I hadn't thought of that! It is a half marathon route so at most I'll be doing a half... I'll have to check the website for the 10k route to see how they differ.

Brilliant! absolutely brilliant. At least you made it. Well done.
Wow, some interesting images from some of you!! I'm sure I could have lived without some of those images!! Good luck with the run Jud, that's really funny LA!! Oh dear Lynne!! Glad Narla is accepting of medication Claire.
Happiness is pulling the plug out in the sink and still having dry feet. Mind you, there is a bowl under the waste just in case.:o)Ps. Spoke too soon, semi finals of the swearing contest hs resumed. He’s in the medals.
Hehe Lynne.I'm googling a nice relaxing beach holiday and him on the couch is googling adventure holidays.
Fuck that for a laugh.

I was in a pub team and one of the other runners just happened to be an elephant trainer (Well in a pub near Herne Bay, of course you run into people like this all the time). It was the Canterbury half marathon and the elephant collected a fortune - in a bucket he carried in his trunk running to the crowd at either side of the road. Those were't days.

Getting mighty sick of it."
I keep getting them and flagging too. Goodreads needs to put some programming in place so that links are not allowed in friend requests - that would put a complete stop to it.
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Hehe Lynne.I'm googling a nice relaxing beach holiday and him on the couch is googling adventure holidays.

I didn't think you did relaxing beach holidays!!
I've just found out that you can put a question for people to answer if they want to send a friend request - and specify challenge answer, on your settings page. This might stop them sending these spammy phishing requests.
That's exactly what they need to do, Pam.We haven't in ages, Desley. I think I got about three days of beach time a few years ago when we went to Mexico.
Neighbour is sorted! Woot!Jud, best of luck, Lynn hope the swearathon is over now and he's sitting somewhere quietly out of the way with his gold medal and a pint of beer! Will running round in circles is the only logical reaction to most things.
Cheers
MTM
I went on a thread Patti, in the Feedback group and suggested/supported other people who suggested that GR just disable links in friend requests - why would a legitimate person need to send a link in one anyway? That would stop the whole thing in its tracks.

Excellent news on the neighbour, Mary.
I thought about you Mary, have you noticed on a wine box how the spigot thingy looks like Shaun the sheep. It needs two of your eyes.
Lynne (Tigger's Mum) wrote: "I thought about you Mary, have you noticed on a wine box how the spigot thingy looks like Shaun the sheep. It needs two of your eyes."I have a picture of exactly that taken in Galashiels Tesco at New Year, give me a moment.
Lynne (Tigger's Mum) wrote: "I thought about you Mary, have you noticed on a wine box how the spigot thingy looks like Shaun the sheep. It needs two of your eyes."Yep. Here it is. Sorry, I can’t do the post picture thing because the file with the code isn’t on my new iPad yet.

Yes that’s it - I shall think about you every time I have a glass😀Talking of neighbours, glad you’ve sorted them. The house next or has gone up for sale, my old neighbour died and the family is selling the house. Hope our new neighbours are nice.
Pam wrote: "I've just found out that you can put a question for people to answer if they want to send a friend request - and specify challenge answer, on your settings page. This might stop them sending these ..."Ive got the challenge question thing and I'm still getting them.

I want the full story of the neighbour saga, please.
So happy it's sorted!
You've reminded me I've got a bottle of wine in the fridge that needs drinking before we leave, Lynne. A gift from Dave's teaching assistant. It's Azeri wine, mind. So it may get opened and tipped into the sink.I've got to sort out meals for the next four days today.
I wanna take all my spices and bits n bobs to a friend tomorrow. What she doesn't want, she can disperse to everyone else in the fall.
Also gotta see about getting stuff into the suitcases. I'm hoping we can get away with just the two bags. I'm sure Alla will be happy to take anything that won't fit.
Out for meals tomorrow and Monday, so that will help with the menu decisions.
Oh and I've got one last pack of bacon! Think I'll do that for breakfast in a bit!
I know what it's like to live out of a suitcase - enjoy your bacon.I have upheld my reputation as The Finder of Lost Objects. I found the plastic baggie with the four screws that hold the dishwasher in place, and which the staging ladies lost while crazily shoving everything someplace else to have the kitchen and dining room be ready for photographing: upside down, with the PostIt unreadable, under other stuff, on a tray which ended up in the living room - with other things on top of it.
My husband planned to go through the garbage tomorrow morning, and now he doesn't have to.
My back hurts from the crazy search - but I found it!
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Pam wrote: "Ive got the challenge question thing and I'm still getting them. ..."
Apparently if they are using the app they don`t see the question
Well that's just stupid, Janet.I'm rather obsessive about keeping track of where important bits like screws and stuff are put, Alicia.
Whenever we move, my backpack gets stuffed with that sort of thing. Screws, remotes, corkscrew and can opener, Dave's spare reading glasses...
Gonna save the bacon until tomorrow. Gonna make rolex instead.Rolex is an omelet rolled into flat bread. Mine are never as good as the ones we'd buy off the street in Uganda, of course.
Ive spent hours last night and this morning looking for a place to stay in Thailand for a couple weeks end of July, beginning of August. If anyone knows of a place, please let me know.
My dream place will be a budget bungalow near the beach with a pool onsite and a few restaurants in easy walking distance. Very quiet and with a nice garden to chill in with my kindle.
Don't care where in Thailand, as long as it's easy to get to and from Bangkok airport.
Please help, if you can!
Morning all. Hope everyone is fit and well. Patti, with all your travels you're asking us for advice? Sorry, can't help. The closest I've been to Thailand is a restaurant on Godalming High Street. Pad Thai and sweetcorn fritters. Mmmm.
Morning all, didn't want to get up this morning, but really need to start the housework before fundraising and food shopping. Hip still sore, but nothing like yesterday, although suspect I'll need strong painkillers tonight. Raining, so will have to wear boots, not done that for weeks. How come you are giving away your spices Patti? Glad you found what you needed Alicia. Glad you have got the neighbours sorted MT, hope you get nice neighbours Lynne
Morning all, supposed to be raining all day today but just a few wee spits so far. Sad to hear the news about the Glasgow School of Art.
Same here Rosemary. Put off a visit to son and family today because of the forecast. Going tomorrow so I hope they're right about that!
HelloI have just started receiving "friend requests" and all of them are from people inviting me to download a free book. Since all of the offers are for books I already have, and most are ones I reviewed as being awful, I can only conclude this is "spam". Anyone else having this problem. I have declined all requests.
Pippa, loads of us are getting those requests. Glad to hear you're not accepting them. Instead of declining them, can I suggest you flag them? Goodreads zaps them pretty quickly and it stops them reappearing.
Gotta completely clear the flat of our personal stuff before we leave on Tuesday, Desley.Sad to give away all the spices. Took me years to accumulate everything for proper curries.
Oh well. They'll still be used.

Next time order a green mango salad, if they do them.
Lip smacking!
I was just surprised they would be left behind, thought you used them a lot and some had been hard to findI'm really bad at ignoring friend requests, so wouldn't know what they say
