Damn. I went upstairs to grab my kindle, got sidetracked and left it up there. If I have to climb the stairs again, I may as well stay up there and have a nap, eh?
Afternoon. Day off work today. Should be getting some coursework done but Narla's at the vets and I'm stressed waiting to hear how bad her heart is (as it now looks like it's not working quite normally). I've just been swearing at the printer for not printing my forms out! Going to have a cup of tea and then potter about a bit, try and keep my mind off it.
Sorry your parents' neighbor is a pain, MT.Our rain barrels will have to go out with the trash - hope someone adopts them. They are huge.
Bright and sunny (and probably muggy) here. The man who installed the kitchen floor was here 5-6 hours yesterday.
At the very end we get, "Oh, by the way..." It turns out that they did not have the inventory of the base strip that their inventory control said they did, so the job is still unfinished. Not dealing with this flooring company again (not that we'll even be on the same coast after we move), but they have sucked up energy we didn't have.
Now husband has to figure out how to reconnect the gas line to the stove (cooker). And the water line to the refrigerator - if it doesn't go through a filter, our water (though technically safe to drink) tastes terrible.
Other than that, still standing!
Hmm, spoke to the receptionist at Podiatry, she managed to get hold of the podiatrist, who wants to see me face to face to discuss, earliest he can do is 25th June!! Slightly puzzled and not only is that another 10 days to get an update, but it will mean 3 weeks for those results!! Well, except for the receptionist reading them to me on the phone on Mon. Sorry you are having issues with the neighbours MT. Ooh, bring some nice weather with you Patti!! Hope Narla is OK Claire. Ooh, this is positive Will.
I wonder if everyone would be so cavalier with your pain, Desley, if it were them, or their mother, or...

You could be confusing your titters with kippers." you're as nutty as a barrel o' mackerel!

Maybe they meant other people had been in because they had no battery either!

I’m home safe and sound, no problems except big dog was a bit Moby Dick so I had a shed load of dog blankets and towels from the car to wash. I managed to get a quick Tesco delivery this morning so that helped. Been to see grandson this afternoon, poor little lad has been really ill for about 3 weeks. High temperatures which wouldn’t come down. They used the walk-in service and emergency doctor and both said it was flu. It wasn’t, he’s had a waterworks infection. One day on antibiotics and he’s better than he’s been for days. He’s lost a lot of weight too. Our garden was very ‘lush’ when we got home, he’s taken a cut of hay off the ‘lawn’ it was knee high. My turn tomorrow to do some weeding.

My sympathies have been with you, all along.
Finally finished the stupid letter about the stupid fence ... and the drawings ... it's two am. Morning all.

There may be. Not round our's though. We're having brunch near the old city so we may see some later.Or not. I *think* the mass slaughter would have been at sunset last night.
You up early. Or late.
You okay?
I am ok if you don't take the screwed up sleep patterns into account. At this stage I'm not sure what early and late are any more :)
I hear you. I'm hoping I'll be able to get to grips with my huge sleep deficit over the next few days, before wrestling the usual jag lag in the uk.
Dave may object to that. ;)Bloody hell, I've got ANOTHER dodgy friend request with an illegal download site.
Flagged, of course.
Getting mighty sick of it.
The rate of those does seem to be increasing, doesn't it?Morning all.
Hope your grandson continues to get better, Lynne.
And goot luck with the fence, MT.

I never get them, perhaps they have worked out that writers are unlikely to be interested
So my guess is that at least it's probably not a spambot, you're being offended by a real human being :-)
I just hope no one clicks on the links.Oh. Reminds me of something concerning I read in the goodreads feedback group earlier this morning.
I'll share it in the important announcements thread.
Morning all, woke up early, then realised I've flared my sciatica up on the right side, so will be shuffling today! Fortunately an easy day, chemist after work, then a friend is coming with a little something from Wales, quite intrigued. Thanks for that Patti, never noticed. Thanks Alicia, much appreciated. My neighbour thinks it's shown something different. Glad you are home Lynne, hope your grandson is on the mend now, poor thing.
Morning! Patti, was this someone called Rooseveldt who had no friends and has read no books? I flagged him too and reported the illegal site business.Tut!
Morning alls. Very quiet and peaceful sunrise walk this morning but took this from the amazing SW Coast Path.https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...
Good morning all. Nothing much to report. Going for lunch with a friend. Might buy a CD or two. I'm trying to write a scene where a character gets drunk and has his wallet stolen. It's not quite working yet.
Will wrote: "I'm trying to write a scene where a character gets drunk and has his wallet stolen. It's not quite working yet."Probably needs more rum.

I'd recommend doing some research. Any town centre pub that serves decent beer should be a good starting place.

Good reads seems to have zapped it. I didn't take notice of the name. Seemed to be out of Russia, is all I recall.
Kath wrote: "Gorgeous. What time was that? 3 am or earlier?" Not quite that early this far south and west! Not long after 5 o'clock, around 5.15 I think.
Good grief it's hot out there. I'm rather moist under my breasts, as the mother of a good friend always sez.
I'm also zinging. Four cups of coffee. I should know better. And pogged full of eggs benny.
Erp.
'Scuse me.
Morning.I don't think my brain is functioning.
It's funny how sleep deprivation is considered a form of torture and therefore is illegal yet motherhood is actively encouraged by even the most moral of society.
Can I have my kids arrested for a weekend so I can catch up on sleep?

You do make me guffaw, Jud!

I'll see your hemorrhoids and raise you a catheter inserted at the groin.
Morning. Narla took her tablet like a little gem this morning. Fingers crossed that continues as she has two a day at the moment, upping to three once she has her tooth out. She's such a little sweetie, spent the last hour curled up on my legs. Have to get on today and try and make progress on my assignment. Not long until it's due!
Is there a folder to put a thread discussing a book? I can't remember. I'm reading Handmaid's Tale at the moment and it would be interesting to see what others think/thought of it.

I got someone else's poop on my hands this morning, it wasn't even 8am. It was my daughter's, I suppose I should be thankful it wasn't a stranger's.
David wrote: "L.A. wrote: "David wrote: "Will wrote: "But then I have always been hard of hearing. Pardon? "A hard herring?

Or just start a thread and I'll shift it.
I'd love to discuss it, but I may confuse it with the tv series as I've watched that more recently.

Okay...
Swiftly moving on.

Gold medal swearing in my kitchen. It’s his own fault- he shouldn’t have been so heavy handed with the sink plunger. Slight blockage last night so I went to get the drain cleaner, meanwhile he found the sink plunger and used excessive force as men do sometimes. Both ends of the plastic pipe blew off, good job I had old shoes on or he’d really have been in trouble. The seals had perished so everywhere leaked. He wrenched one but so hard he broke it, I’m washing up in a bowl and resisting the natural urge to tip it down the non existent waste. That would get me into more hot water literally. He’s been and got new fittings which he says are the wrong size so he’s cursing them into place.
