sounds fun, hope it goes well

I'm sure the people will be there too, just hiding behind the plants.
Morning all. Another sunny day

I've got a loaf rising and 30 lemon and (dried) bluberry shortbread biscuits in the oven. Smells gorgeous.
Enough of this friviloty. I had a revelation last night, when thinking of something entirely different, and now have the structure of my new book established. Unless I change it again! Off to scatter words over a page.

I choose this one as I have recently brought a Kindle Paperwhite. I was always put off by reading as I'm slightly dyslexic and I would end up reading the same lines and pages over and over again and it was so hard to take in.
I turned to Amazon Audible and enjoyed listening to the stories, esp by those who I admire Autobiography wise as they would read their own story which is fab so I could hear it as intended. However for the other genes of books I found some of the narration to be frustrating.
So hence me buying my first Kindle and I have to say I am impressed and enjoying reading. I like that I can change the font, size and space to it suits me.
I have loads I want to read now, its just finding the time lol

Lol, I hope not to soon too.

The Kindle comes with a dyslexic-friendly font - if you haven't found it already. Happy reading.

Keeping everything crossed Will. Can you send some shortbread this way Kath? Nice to meet you Bianca, glad you have found a way to get into reading. Good luck planning Kittys activities Jud.

It is embedded on the Kindles - OpenDyslexic. Hope it's on yours.

Will be glad when our stuff is finally in transit."
Are they shipping it in a transit van?

Almost finished my audiobook World Without End I've loved it. I'm way behind the herd with reading this series but I'm raving about it now, 10 years after everyone else.

Cake club over for another month. We seem to have more customers than ever!

In more exciting news, my eldest niece informed me she's starting a monthly book club in her house.
Apparently, there are 10-15 women between the ages of 25-35 interested.
A gossip of young mothers. ;)
She asked me if I had reccies for them. Of course I do. Many.
Thought I'd throw it at the group, too.

Wish I was going back to the National Botanic Gardens in July, Will.
All water provided services seem to be back to normal and it's another beautiful day. Our neighbours are replacing the old garden fence with a higher one. We don't mind - apparently it's in case they don't get on so well with the new neighbours if and when we move.
All good luck for tomorrow, the other Will, just in case I'm not back on here for a day or two.

What kind of book club is it? A serious one or a more lighthearted one where they mostly want to get together to chat and drink wine? There's no point recommending longer books if people are unlikely to read more than 200 pages.
I'd love to find (or start!) a book club

Ooh, that is exciting. I decided against joining a book club as I struggle to find enough time to read books I want to, without having to read books I may not like because someone else chose them. Go for it Jud!

Excellent considerations, Jud! I'll ask her.
Thanks!

I'll soon sort the nice Welsh weather.

Although I do know of at least one novel that happens to have some great recipes in it (better not mention it here though or slapped wrists might occur)

Seriously if they want to chat and drink wine and sort of talk about stuff they read how about suggesting a couple of blogs for them.
They could all read the same blog post and come together and discuss it. It has the advantage of being free, everybody can get a copy and however busy they are they should be able to read it
Somebody just chooses a particular blog post and circulates the url for people to click on
Obviously I'd mention my blog or Tallis, BUT other blogs are ought there. MTM does a cracking blog and they have a choice of something really meaty about dementia or as a contrast some of her stories about her and her brother.
Similarly isn't it Will who has his orgy stories?
I've no doubt others have other suggestions

I'd point to Nanny Ogg's cookbook for one.
(Famous Carrot & Oyster pie: carrots so that you can see in the dark, and oysters so that there's something to look at. STP.)

That is a fantastic idea, I'm going to suggest it to a friend who wanted to start a book club

Oh crap, and we're out again this evening. Sigh.
Anyway.
Yeah, that's a good idea Jim. I'll run it past her.
I do think running a book club is hard work. There's been several abortive attempts here at school but no one seems to have the time for more than a month or two. Suddenly there's reports or assessments or open house or a hundred other things.
We still have always spent lots of time discussing books we've read, just not formally and not all the same book at the same time.

Hope you get through everything Patti. That's a good point about book clubs

Hope everything settles down for you, Patti.

I have finally got my internet sorted!
Finishing up at my current job today, going in this afternoon to hand in my laptop and phone. Can't wait to be free of them.
Hope everyone is doing ok here?

Then this afternoon K and I are off to Waterstones in Oxford for the launch of a small press anthology with one of my short stories in it. Be a bit late home tonight, I suspect

hope it goes well Will :-)

My computer is broken so I'm using someone else's while the IT guy tries to fix mine for me. It needs reimaged so that'll take a while.
I need to take 5 minutes to plan out my month too, there is so much going on with Kitty's play group and her nursery for September. I'm going to have a few half days, I think.
