"Status of job lost." error message during separate

It takes a really long time then finally stops and has this "Status of job lost." but the book/s are separated. What does that mean, okay for me to continue because it seems to happen regularly?

I've seen it a lot, particularly when the separate was large. As long as the books are clearly separated on the combine page, I've always just carried on with whatever I was trying to do. I've assumed it was my net connection being slow though...
