Share your initial thoughts on Zeerid and his ship Fat Man. What do you think about him being a former Republic Commando? Do you like the name of his ship? These are just a few questions to get you started feel free to share any and all of your thoughts.

Shawn Mcnaughton | 7 comments Z Man reminds me so much of Han. His past and his relationship to Fat Man is very much in line with Han in A New Hope. This is very "Star Wars" and gives us that original trilogy feel!

Jason Duran | 37 comments He's definitely a Han-type guy, except his motivations are not as selfish. He has a disabled daughter he's working for. He made some bad choices, and now she's all he has to live and fight for.

My initial thoughts, Fatman is a weird name for a Star Wars ship

Bruce | 137 comments It makes me think of the 80s TV show, Jake and the Fatman starring William Conrad.

Joshua Luz | 23 comments Zeerid has a lot of Han in him (including the snarky attitude to the Exchange middle man), though his history as a former trooper throws another angle on it. Han was a former Imperial officer, but that always seemed so separated from his portrayal to me. Zeerid feels like he might be more directly affected by his past as a trooper, though we'll see if that's the case.

I'd love to see a picture of Fatman, to see if it lives up to its name.

I feel the same I think Fatman is very strange name for a star wars ship and honestly it took me a minute to realize they were not just talking about a fat man! Zeerid definitely seems shaped by his commando days and in a much deeper way than Han was ever portrayed. The snark is very refreshing.

Travis I agree with everyone else that Zeerid has much in common with Han but the soldier past separates them. Also Zeerid isn't hostile toward Jedi like Han.

I thought Fatman was a person, too, until a couple paragraphs into the book made our clearer it was a ship.

I also thought of Jake and the Fatman :-)
