Adding a video when the author is on GoodReads

I'm a librarian here and have been since the site started.
One of the top things I'm asked to do is add video for authors or publishers.
Recently, as I start to add a video, I get a message saying the author is on GoodReads, so I can't do that for them.
This is frustrating. For me and for the author. Is there something I can do in order to override that and post for the author?
I don't really want them to give me their credentials to do it for them. I don't want that liability. But, I do want to help.

Okay, as a follow up, this author asked if she cancelled her account could someone else help her. I have no idea. Do you?

Yes, then you will be able to add/edit videos. So will any other librarian.

I've just twice tried to add a video from my YouTube channel page and all I keep getting is a red flag saying it is not a YouTube video when clearly it is on my channel where I uploaded it. Can you help?
