Oh Ang thanks for sharing this. I wish I had a teacher like you maybe then reading wouldn't have been a chore but a joy much earlier in my life.
I love that story :)

Karen I LOVE that first day of school story thanks for sharing.
I also remember vividly the small library you almost single-handedly booked with some help from your friends. I remember I sent several boxes of children's books to that library donated from one of my library branches.
Thanks for being one of my oldest and staunchest supporters.
You and the members here and in my very large e-reading family make what I do so rewarding.
That goes to all of you here too!!!!! :) xoxo <3

I t is the reading and sharing and living these books together that makes a book more than just another tomb on the shelf.
Here, withe the author, we discover the living souls of the characters and sometimes the author sees a new side to one of them, too. lol. What a joy

Lisa, I love to read and have been reading since I was about 4 years old. It may have been reading with a lot of, 'Mom, what's this word?' thrown in, but I distinctly remember the Christmas with 6 Nancy Drew books waiting for me - that was the happiest Christmas ever! And yes, I relate most strongly to Jenna, but I'm not sure it's completely related to reading. Although if it's true that reading = introvert, then - yes. I've always felt like a fish out of water, or a third wheel, or - fill in your favorite metaphor - and Jenna feels like a kindred spirit.

Now that's a *true-blue* random act of kindness!

Whether little or big, it is where the heart is that counts. For me, watching the librarian open those boxes and see the tears course down her face was all the recompence I needed.

Oh, and to see a camper sitting and reading is fair game to strike up a what are you reading conversation. But I like the idea of a mini boojk club

Speaking of out of the way libraries, as most of you know I get about 15 books/week from publishers hoping I'll advertise them on my blog with a review or author interview. So my dilemma you can see already :). I was talking with my hairdresser one day who is also an avid reader and she had some unused space and shelves in her salon.
That's right most of my books go to her, she's also added some and her other patrons do too. So now she has a lending library right in her salon :)
