Jackie | 1744 comments Hi, Amy, I just learned about this group & joined. I have recently re-read Sylvester (about a month ago) and - yes - I loved it!
thanks for starting this.

QNPoohBear | 1640 comments I liked the first half of the book when it focused on Phoebe's excellent adventure. The book fell apart after he found out about the book. I was mislead by the romantic book cover showing Phoebe writing in a field and Sylvester coming after her.

I did like him though and his relationship with his mother.

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments I'm not crazy about misunderstandings, so although I enjoyed the re-read, I have to say that the first time I read it I liked the first half best, too. And I loved that he loved his mother, who was lovely!

Jackie | 1744 comments yes, the best part of the book is when Tom has broken his leg and they are stuck at the small inn and Phoebe and Sylvester are forced to deal with each other. the rest of the book you just want them to get back to that easy, fun relationship.

Barbara Hoyland (sema4dogz) | 449 comments I know what you all mean by being annoyed at misunderstandings , you just want to yell, 'for goodness sake just listen will you !'

But I do like Phoebe and Tom's excellent adventure too and even can suspend disbelief at Phoebe's original naiveté re the effect on everybody if she were published (esp Sylvester himself ) But his take-down ( I've made such a muff of it mama") is very sweet ....
