In honor of Brandon Sanderson's release of Oathbringer next month we will be doing Words of Radiance as our Mod special for the months of November and December.

Greg | 1465 comments Friends gave this great reviews, but I'll have to get through #1 first. So that's over 2000 pages betaeen the two of them .. wow! Sanderson likes the epics!!

Greg it seems long, but once you get into it it goes by so fast that you wish there was more.

They are both excellent but Way of Kings is one of my favourite books of all time.

Tsk tsk, you didn't read Way of Kings for a BOTM!

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 803 comments @Greg: To echo what Lancer said, despite being quite the tomes, I thought they read surprisingly fast. If you have the pennies, there's always the Graphic Audio version with a full cast. The sample sounds awesome. I don't know if you'll be able to catch everything though with audiobook as your first time through.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 229 comments Greg! You can do it! =) I read mine a bit ago and then re-read the first one on audible and have to re-read the second on audible still. I can't afford those Graphic ones from that place unfortunately. =( I wish audible would get it

I can't either but I might put in a word to Santa.

Oh good -- I recently finished Way of Kings and need an excuse to start this.

@Roger - I have a lot of BotMs to catch up on! 😱

message 14: by Greg (new)

Greg | 1465 comments Thanks Veronica, Melissa, and Lancer! I will definitely try, and luckily I have two months to fit them in! :)

My library just has the Macmillan audio. Kate Reading's voice bothers me for some reason, so I think I'll have to actually read it.

I highly recommend that you read them :)

As I have said before, and if you figure out what my mod title is, you know that I am a huge Sanderson fan so I am a bit biased.

message 17: by Cody (new) - rated it 4 stars

Cody | 75 comments I was thinking about re reading these 2 before the third came out but I don't think that I have the time, especially as I am slightly behind on my goodreads challenge :(

message 18: by Cody (new) - rated it 4 stars

Cody | 75 comments Probably worth saying also that I really enjoyed the books but

I hope I get the spoiler thing right, if not please do not read the next paragraph

(view spoiler)

Very enjoyable books for the most part though

Narilka | 390 comments I have been holding off on starting this series because it's not complete yet and I know myself with Brandon Sanderson books - I hate waiting for the next one :)

Ah ha! It's been there so long, I've stopped noticing, but I get it now.

Margo I read this earlier in the year and it went straight onto my list of BEST BOOKS EVER! Great choice Roger ;-)

Tracy-lee (ithinksoiam) | 2 comments This is such an amazing series! I’m so excited for the new one. I’m re-reading the previous two now. I love Shallan so much! I didn’t think I’d like her but she’s pretty kick ass!

I found her really annoying in the first book, but better in this book, though once again Sanderson writes a terrible romance. Her flirtation with another character (keeping it spoiler free) were soooo bad that I had to skip them.

LittleBookDruid | 89 comments Wow, I had started reading it on my own last night, hadn't realized it was mod special. :o
