I like the idea of Quidditch but sometimes reading about sports is boring books. Rowling makes these sections the right length. Enough detail and action to make it feel like an I rushed game, but not too much that you get bored. It was great that Gryffindor finally won the Quidditch Cup thanks to Harry. And the game was against Slytherin, which made the win even sweeter.

Peter Pettigrew being Scabbers, who has been Ron’s pet since Book 1 was such a shocking revelation. Also, I love the end of this book because Hermione gets more of a role and helps Harry save Buckbeak and Black. She wasn’t involved with much of this book until the last quarter. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8-11: (view spoiler)[ it's so cool seeing little hark backs to Harry's ability to talk to snakes, Rowling really thought these things through! Also the Deathday Party is something I really wish they'd put into the film, even if just for the entertainment factor! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12-18: (view spoiler)[ bless little Dobby, it's hard not to love him despite initial frustrations! This isn't my favourite of the series but I did enjoy it a lot regardless, and my esteem for it is higher than it was before I reread it this time round :) (hide spoiler)]

I love the characters in this series. There are so many characters that you love and also ones that you love to hate. The Weasleys are honestly the nicest family and Harry's friends are great. I also forgot how humble and nice Cedric is (bittersweet).
Side note: I don't understand how wizards can be so out of touch with the Muggle's day-to-day life and technology. Everyone should be required to take Muggle Studies in wizarding school! (hide spoiler)]

It was really sad when Ron and the other houses all turned away from Harry after he got selected as one of the champions. You would think that his friends would at least have his back, but Ron doesn't believe that Harry didn't put his name into the goblet. You can feel how dejected and lonely Harry feels. At least he still has Hermione. And Dumbledore and Hagrid are on his side. (hide spoiler)]

I love reading about the different challenges that Harry has to face in the Triwizard challenge. I also like how the four competitors all use different tactics to succeed. I can't remember who actually put Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire so that is something to look forward to finding out as well. (hide spoiler)]

This book was just as good as I remember. And Cedric's death was still sad even though I expected it. If Harry had just taken the Triwizard Cup alone than Cedric would still be alive. Instead Harry wanted to share the victory and now someone lost their life :( It is just really sad! I can't wait to start the next book. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ First of all, up until now, the book contains so much foreshadowing in relation to Snape's and Harry's relationship in the future.

(view spoiler)[ I remember Hermione's appearence in the movie. Abaolutely adorable. I'm also really liking how close their are becoming. (hide spoiler)]

The Duelling Club:
(view spoiler)[ Snape is kind of a bad ass character despite him being a resentful asshole most of the time. I do like seeing Lockhart being put in his place. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I love Hagrid, but that guy has a serious problem concerning his choice of pets. Like he should rethink what he likes to keep as one. I remember seeing the movie and sharing Ron's horror and disgust when seeing all those spiders and Aragog himself. Way too freaky for me. (hide spoiler)]

Sirius Black is so amazing, I want more scenes with him and Hermione's development is on another level. At the end, Dumbledore always seems to fix all the problems is like he has all the answers. (view spoiler)[ Dumbledore is a great mentor but it's difficult to listen to him talking this nicely and understanding to Harry, while he knows that he'll have to die if he really intents to kill Lord Voldemort. It almost feels like a betrayal. (hide spoiler)]

This is so nostalgic... I love how Harry and Hagrid meet and become friends. I'd forgotten that Hagrid had borrowed the bike from Sirius Black. I'd also forgotten how Harry and Malfoy had first met, and how Harry hadn't been the biggest fan of Olivander at first.

Running into Voldemort underneath Hogwarts seemed less climatic than I remember the movies being. I like that Ron's excellence at chess is on display; he's not the dumb friend of the trio, he actually has something to contribute. Also, Hagrid giving Harry those pictures of his parents? What a touching gift!!
With every re-read, this remains one of my favorite book series.

I love the audio for these too. Jim Dale gets the voices so good that even when I read my physical copies I hear him reading them in my head!

I'm really loving rediscovering this world from the very beginning. I've spent so long on my fanfiction that starts in Chamber of Secrets that I've forgotten what it's like to just re-experience the series.

Looking at it as an education student and future teacher, I think I'm only just now realizing how much of an innocent kid Harry is at the start of the books. I'm amazed that I can still read it with a new perspective after all these years.

Harry is a very typical eleven year old, and I think this is my first time reading the books where I am older than the main characters at any age (not including the epilogue). It's a really great new perspective for me for the story. I used to question their judgement on a lot of things, but now I understand a lot better. I haven't even spent that much time working with kids their age, but it's just like, I've been where they are. I would probably make similar judgements in their situation at that age. I didn't necessarily know how to come to adults with my problems either. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2 - It has been a very long time since I have read this book. I can't remember a lot of the details. I really want to know why Petunia suddenly changed her mind after she received that howler. What does "remember the last" mean? Does her stopping Vernon from throwing Harry out of the house due to her actually caring for him or is she afraid of the consequences?

Chapter 8 - Why is Dumbledore not acknowledging Harry and continuing to keep him in the dark? He obviously still cares about Harry's well-being since he has had him guarded while at the Dursley's and defended him at the Ministry of Magic. However, he hasn't looked or spoken to him once. (view spoiler)[I like this one more each time I read it. I love everything that goes with the tri-wizard tournament and the clues between and how Cedric and Harry work together. That on top of my live for magic schools and this book hits most of my favorite things to read about. I am still so sad about Cedric’s death and wish he and Harry could’ve won it together.
