I wanted to suggest you try a new growing area of fantasy. It is LitRPG. A form of fantasy set inside the virtual world.
My book is about Harriton Nikiforov, a tabloid journalist, who is forced to take an assignment to write a series of fluff pieces on the newest popular game called Fayroll. He enters the virtual world thinking it will be easy and not hard work. But he finds many enemies, clan intrigue, and how for some people the virtual world really is more than a game to them. But in the real world, he must please his boss and keep his girlfriend happy.
