That series is AMAZIIIIING! Between Heartstrickers and Kate Daniels, I'm living in UF paradise right now :D
Hello Team, I'm sorry that I've dropped the line and am no longer tugging on it. I've been in a MAJOR funk this year for reading. When I want to read something new, I stand before my newly constructed bookshelves of over 300 books, rocking back and forth from foot to foot and nothing inspires me. I've started about 10 books and haven't finished a single one. SO, I've come crawling back to the group asking for help. I need a buddy read. A small group of people (or single buddy) that would like to join me for a journey into Bookland... I have about an hour or two to read each night so I should be able to do so. I'd like to start with something smallish (So no 1000 pages tomes, aka The Way of Kings is out!) I'm up for any of these titles, since I already own them, and I'd like to be done around the middle of the month:Golden Son
Dragon Avenger
Age of Swords
The Assassins of Tamurin
The Waking Fire
Dead Witch Walking
Ender's Game
Any takers let me know! I have many more titles, so if you look on my page at the tab, "Physical books that I own" you can pick anything from there too. Cheers friends and talk to you again soon!
I love Dead Witch Walking. I think it's a great light way to get back into reading. I just finally finished the series last week. Not sure if I'm quite ready for a reread yet, esp considering I'm binging Kate Daniels at the moment and it would be too much pnr for me) but maybe if you put it off for another month I can jump on board. Or if we only do a few chapters at a time.

In my opinion, to do a reread right away would be too much forced reading-please keep in mind that I don't know your reading habits, just sayin'. (Underlying Meaning: I'm Canadian and don't want to offend you...) But I'm definitely looking at reading the series, it's in my wife's top 3 series list, and I need to learn about Jynx (or so I'm told). So if you're whole heartedly in, then I'm game ;-)
Ooooh, I want to read the Hollows too! I've heard so many great things about this series.Same as Diana, I started a Kate Daniels binge this month, so I can either read it next month, or only a few chapters at a time :)

It's one of my favorite PNRs, right along side Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson. I started the series like 6 years ago so I'd love to go through the books again. But not right at this moment since I'm already binging Kate Daniels. But if you can grab others to read it with you I think it would be a great place to start getting back into reading.

I'm aiming at 2 chapters a day or at least a comparable amount a week, because I'm not sure I'm able to read every day.
So this is on the one hand an invitation to join me and on the other hand a hint, that there's a BR in September :)

I am starting Iron and Magic and then I will wait
This series took me completely by surprise. I wasn't expecting the worldbuilding to be so interesting. I want Kate to be my bff and I kind of love the villains.
I might need to slowly reread the series in a couple of months. :D

Round of applause! Standing ovation!
I've been sick. With my sickness comes the realization that I can't focus on audiobooks while sick. So it's been a lot of netflix the past couple of days. And a little of getting back to my good old friend, my kindle. My reading has been slowed. I am just going to sit here and cheer for the rest of you while you rack up the points.

Great job, Virginie!
Thanks guys. Turns out that while I stalled on KD cuz I can't focus on audiobooks, I'm doing just fine with kindle. Breezing through Ravensong.

I am ready for Magic Triumphs! 23 days!
Feel better, Diana!Kate Daniels is one of those uber popular UF fantasy series that I lost interest in around book 4 or 5 (the Fever series is the other big one). I met the authors once though and they're both super nice. Made me feel bad that I didn't love their books more.

It sucks that someone spoiled it for you, Petrik. That was such an important part of the book. :(

It sucks so badddd!! Urghhh the book itself was fantastic though. I think I'll give it 4.5 and rounded it up for the benefit of the doubt.. :/
I avoid reviews and status updates from Malazan until I finish the book. So far I managed to not get spoiled.

I was at the perfect mood for this series. Now I am having a post book hangover. :(
Petrik wrote: "Don't Virginie. DONT! I mean it, there's a gigantic spoiler I put there!"I won't, I won't... I really went out of my way to avoid Malazan spoilers so far, there's no way I'll voluntarily open those spoilers now :D
But, because I'm very childish and contrary, every time I hear/read "don't do this", I'm dying to do just that. You know, just to make a statement :p
Miche wrote: "I avoid reviews and status updates from Malazan until I finish the book. So far I managed to not get spoiled."I have only one more giant spoilers to go through in MoI and then I'm free from spoilers for the series... xD

That's a bummer. Both of those on the top of my favorite series list (with Fever only through book 5, book 6 and onwards is pure garbage). I actually credit Fever with getting me back into reading.

Move on to The Hollows? It's got the same feel.

That's so relateable! Even worse is, when someone said that I can't do something (right now). Like hell I can! :D Of course I try to be reasonable most of the time, but it's really hard!
You guys just need to give it your all to push past that feeling. While immediate gratification is more satisfying now, it can be more harmful in the long run.
