Glad I'm not the only one. Coming back from vacation seems to always take a toll on my reading pace too. It's like I have to get used to the way I used to read again! No worries though, take your time, Veronica! :D

Thanks, Petrik. We can start a Vacation Slackers Club.

Glad that you're feeling better.

Can I join this club? I came back from vacation last week and so far I'm behind on all my buddy reads.

It's starting to sound like our team IS the club.

... do you think that's why we're in last place always? Lol

Title: The Siege of Abythos
Author: Phil Tucker
Pages: 704
Buddy Read: No
Challenge: Yes

I was amazed by the ability of the author to understand that the story lines - pretty cool too BTW - were getting stale and he resumed an old seed he planted pretty much in the first chapter of book 1. This is one of the best books in that respect; ditching fully developed stories to open brand new and more interesting ones.
Well done!

message 3269: by Solseit (new)

Solseit | 1516 comments Also, while I am re-reading Memories of Ice, I was once again exposed to how cool Lady Envy is. She is just the best and her interactions with Toc are just priceless.

Sea of Rust by C. Robert Cargill

Not exactly a rainbow but I can't find anything else :/

Warcross might do...of you haven't already read it...the lettering is fairly VIBGYOR.

And welcome to Raider Central, @Bea. Sorry I missed saying this earlier, I was away and the posts got pushed a few pages back.

Let me join you three! I used this one. I thought it was rainbow-y enough :)
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

message 3279: by Virginie (new)

Virginie | 6129 comments I'd have used that one for yellow... xD

message 3280: by Zaara (new)

Zaara | 4273 comments Warcross is very fast and not bad, IMO. It was my first and so far only Marie Lu. I don't know anything about tech stuff so you can sell me anything bullsh!t even about futuristic worlds and I will believe it.

I used Legend (The Drenai Saga, #1) by David Gemmell back in January... it had a wide enough array of colors imo...

200 books later, it's still the best candidate... I just checked with the book cover view of my 2018 shelf...

I would agree. Another one that has a rainbow on is Warbreaker. It isn't big but the transition of colors counts as rainbow for me.
I also cannot believe that no book in the Lightbringer series has a rainbow - in any of its editions. I should look into it!

I'd count any of those as rainbow. Really the rules are loose - it you're happy with the standard, we are.

I'd like to point out that the original challenge didn't have rainbow as a required category. I added it to be a smartass and someone copied my challenge instead of the main one, and so on.
